what happened to their quality service. 2/18/2014

I took my dog in to get her teeth cleaned. I have used vets for less several times in the past and always been very satisfied with the service. I dropped my dog off before 8:00am. No one mentioned at check in that this was a very busy day. At 2:30 I called to check on my dog as I usually had been called with an update before noon and by dog had been ready to pick up by 1:30 or 2. At 2:30 I was informed that they had not started work on my dog yet but assured by she would be treated soon. At 4:45, 15 minutes before closing I returned to the office because surely my dog would be done as they were closing soon. I was kept waiting for 15 minutes and then informed that they still hadn’t started on my dog but would shortly. They told me to come back in an hour. When I asked if my dog had been kept in a crate this whole time I was informed she had. I got my dog from a puppy mill rescue and she has always been very anxious when kept in a crate so I try to avoid it. When I go on vacation I always have a friend watch her as I know a kennel would cause unneeded stress. Now my poor dog had been left in a kennel for over 9 hours. I arrived at 6:00 and was told that they were just finishing up with my dog but she would be ready shortly. When I mentioned at the front desk how upset I was that my dog had now been there for more than 10 hours I didn’t even get an apology, just a “February is a very busy month for us”. I brought my dog in during February last year and had none of the same problems. I got no consult with the vet after the cleaning as I had with every other visit to Vets for Less. On the way home I noticed that my dog didn’t even appear groggy. Every other occasion my dog had been kept for at least an hour after her teeth cleaning to make sure she was waking up properly, but this time when I pick her up less than an hour and a half after they start the cleaning and she isn’t even groggy. I can only imagine that since she was an end of the day case they rushed through it and used minimal anesthesia more

our dog might still be alive if we hadn't taken him there 10/19/2012

Stay as far away from them as possible. We noticed our dog had no energy so we took him to VFL. The inexperienced vet said yes something is wrong. Draws his blood and it's like water. She commented that that wasn't good and said come back tomorrow. When I did I saw a different vet of course. He said you need to take him for a transfusion now! Of course if they were a full service vet we could have done it right then, but we had to wait an hour and a half to go to the emergency vet. He gave him a shot of b-12 and penicillin and told me to carry him (60lb) everywhere. I got him home withing the next 15 min and he died in my rems min later. It could have been a reaction to the penicillin or the fact that what ever he had killed him. I have been a nurse for 20 years and penicillin is not something you give without knowing if the patient. Or you have them wait a half hour. This is normal SOP at most medical clinics. If they had acted the first day or I took him to a real vet he may still be alive. Do not go there. If cash it tight see if you can make payment arrangements with a real vet. more

Happy with care 5/24/2012

We have taken 3 pets there over the last 4 years. The vets are very knowledgeable and compassionate. The prices are very reasonable and help during this difficult economy. The care is not of any less quality. The only drawback is the wait time. It is walk in only except for procedures such as neutering, in which you can set an appt. more

there scum 6/15/2011

i can't even rate this sad place (vet's for less). i took my English lop bunny who i love so dearly and let this Doctor (so he calls himself) spay my sweet girl bunny and he messed the whole thing up and she died from his negligence's. when we told him, his attitude was like he really didn't give a F@$K. he had no sympathy nothing. then this crazy son of a b@#ch said that he could do an autopsy with us there to watch!!!!!!! really!! who wants to see some creep tear a part there beloved pet after he killed her! he didn't even try to help with the cremation fees or didn't even give our money back for killing our bunny. PLEASE IF YOU LOVE YOUR PETS PLEASE CONSIDER A VET WHO CARE'S ABOUT YOUR PET AND YOU. so now my family is lost and broken hearted with out our sweet house bunny girl. we have been put in a financial bind this whole thing has cost us our hearts and over 350.00 dollars. please don't go here. more

Scam? 1/16/2011

This is the strangest vet clinic that I have ever been to. No appointments. Just stand around and wait. And wait. And wait some more. What's the deal with that? Wouldn't it be more efficient to be seen at a scheduled time and by the vet you request to see your pet? Vets for Less is walk-in only. I mean, it's about an hour wait on a lawn chair in their lobby to be seen by the vet for five minutes. Not much of a bargain and I'm skeptical that my cat (who is strictly indoors now) really needed all those shots. Seems like a scam. I guess my big concern about this vet though is that they didn't do check ups on my cats before injecting them. No offer to check for leukemia or to make sure my cat was healthy. Just poked and wham, bam it was done. They said the cats needed three different shots, and so they got them. They just took my word for everything instead of following up or checking the health of my cats. It's a bit worrisome. I also don't like how I got rushed out so quickly - the first time I went there, the vet told me that my male kitten was a female. more

sleazy place 1/13/2011

This is the sleaziest operation I have ever encountered. I came on a busy day and had to stand outside FOREVER in the cold. Another dog waiting attacked my dog and I was so upset. And then after waiting over an hour the doctor was just down right haphazard and did a miserable job with my dog. TOTALLY WRONG! It’s obvious some people graduate at the bottom of the class and end up being hired by these quacks. Save your money and go to a REAL vet-- not these morons. more

No bargain 12/16/2010

Obviously, these reviews have been written by the vet or their staff. They are phony. I've used them and I can't tell you how bad they are--greedy, poor quality medicine. No bargain. Bad with my dog, scared the life out of her, and on top of having to bring my dog there (mistake), I have to deal with them too? Stay away, even in an emergency or you are down to your last buck. Yuck! more
