Venture Custom Pools

My wife and I decided we wanted to install a pool in late April, 2020. Venture Pools sales and design team were spectacular. Easily a step above any of the other bids/designs we got. I guess that should have set off warning flags. In May, I was told it would take 10-12 weeks to complete after signing a contract. I was pushing for an August 1 completion, and was told that might happen, but it would be done by August 15. After reviewing other bids and other contractors, we signed with Venture and gave them a huge deposit (50% of total). It's been an abject nightmare since. They didn't get STARTED until after August 1 -- I was told "there were a lot of jobs in front of you," which is a fact they new when they lied to me about the completion date. There's a swing set in the backyard that needed to be moved. We negotiated having them move it. Then I get an email that says "never mind, you have to pay to have it moved, sorry, we don't want to do it." Then they were supposed to show up on August 5 to dig. They didn't come. Then it was August 10. And they did dig the hole, but missed where it goes by 1ft, forgot to dig out certain areas, and forgot to put in the drainage where it was on the plans. Then the plumbers didn't show up, and I got a call that said "the plumber scheduling is behind, sorry." They did confirm to show up on August 11, but I waited at home all day and got no response on the phone or email. The next day I got a "we're looking into it," and I have received ZERO response since. At this point, I'm afraid they just stole tens of thousands of dollars from me. So, short story -- their design team is incredibly professional and responsive. The second you sign that contract, well good luck. I would never recommend this business to anyone, ever. more

Once the process started, Amanda and Brandon did an outstanding job of keeping me informed of what was going on and what the next steps would be. They were able to answer questions I didn't know I would even have and help me with other projects I had going on such as building a new fence so that didn't delay my pool. more

I am very happy with how things are progressing so far. The skill set of the crew so far has been amazing and I am very impressed with their abilities. more

This company is terrible. Bad work and horrible people skills. DO NOT USE more

Would not recommend this pool builder. My design was not followed. Had an outdoor Kitchen built. Had to call them repeatedly to complete work or correct shoddy work. Customer service thought work was completed. Poor communication with workers. Poor customer service attitude. When decorative tiles were left out of design, the response was, oops, we overlooked that. Took 2 months to correct issue after they were paid in full before completion. Still have trash in skimmer that they did not clean up properly. Wish I had researched before I went with them. I only chose them because my builder had a pool program going. I just see some of my friends pool finish (same price range and size) and am dissatisfied with overall experience. Also, colored light for pool was not installed, because it was left out of our plans after initial design meeting with rep. Again, customer service in construction, was "I don't see were you paid for that, if you find something showing you did send it too me". Apparently, they do not have the philosophy of trying to satisfy their customers, its like "Oh Well". more

The pool construction experience was very informative and customer friendly. I want to give the whole process. That was very comforting. I had given him their name a couple of months ago when our project first started. I hope that he can finalize the sale with these guys. He will be very satisfied like we are. Rudy Vrba was our salesman. He went over everything about the pool, and created an excellent picture of what our yard would look like including how the pool would look from the inside of our house. Everything was done exactly as it was drawn up and we are completely satisfied with the result. I highly recommend Venture Custom Pools. more

I would never recommend this company. Their contract states that no verbal promises will be upheld and that the homeowner agrees to binding arbitration. This should be a warning sign to all who are considering this company. We held back 5% of the cost until start up and the company refused to plaster our pool until we paid this! It has been an ongoing nightmare working with this company. They use the cheapest subcontractors and have no one supervising any of the work. The only time you see a supervisor is to collect payment. The supervisor told me he has 25 pools at a time to supervise. Do not expect a good job from this company. They seem very unethical. more

Substandard pool equipment provided. Hayward pump was terrible. Read contract very carefully and make sure all that you want is detailed in it. Be prepared to oversee all construction and work with the contractors. Make sure you know a lot about pool construction before hiring this company. You old addage that you get what you pay for is true in this instance. The discount is impressive but they do not finish their pools and you must pay the final price before the pool is complete. Would certainly put a codicil in contract and withold a % until entire project is complete. more

I am a first time pool owner. After much research, I chose Venture. I even referred them to a dear friend who used them to build. I will never refer them to anyone again. They use extremely poor suppliers and supplies. In 3 years, I've gone through 4 Hayward pumps. The 4th blew 2 weeks after it went out of warranty.The grout between the pool and patio is faulty and coming up. The Oklahoma flag stone (which I seal 2 times per year) is coming up in large sheets. If it continues to come up at the current rate, there won't be any left in 3-4 years. If you are building a pool, you may want to look elsewhere. more

Thank You Venture for building us a beautiful pool! It was the 1st pool I had built and I am very happy with my pool and how smooth Venture made the process for me. The staff was helpful throughout the entire process and I know I had a ton of questions I kept throwing at them. They were very patient, and addressed the minor issues we had within a timely manner. Greg designed the pool - and it was really helpful to let me see the 3-D images during the design process. Justin was the helpful one during the construction, even gave me pointers and educated me through the process. more

Amanda was always very helpful. She arranged the contractors with ease and sophistication. we were able to sit back and and relax during the entire process. SSince the pool was finished Amanda has been helpful if we need additional work. She gave us many good tips that helped us avoid several problems. more

Valerie was extremely helpful and competent during the initial setup. Much credit goes to Amanda for a great job on day to day installation of this pool. Every time we called her with an issue or a question, her response was "no problem" and the next day it was taken care of.almost every single day someone was here working on the poool. We are thrilled with the pool and the way it looks in our yard. We want to thank everyone involved at Venture Pools. Great Job! more

The clean up crew was great!!! They did a fantastic job and I am very pleased!!! Bob was great to work with and carried out all of the work that he said would be completed when putting in the pool. Amanda was also easy to work with and also participated in much of my satisfaction. more

I am so glad my husband and I chose Venture Custom Pools to construct our pool and spa in our backyard. They were professional and provided a great quality of work. The pool and spa are just how we wanted them to be and the crew finished on time! more
