Shannon Loveless is amazing with cuts. She is the only reason I come to van michael. its surley not for the phone and greeting staff (how hard can it be to book an apointment?) ...

I have very curly hair, and I have been going to Van Michael since... 1998. I first had Christy who was fabulous, and I thought nothing compaired to her skills with the curls... then she became a mom, left, and I met Jon. He is a curly hair god!!! I refuse to let him ever leave Van Michael.... I would die! My hair would die!!! If you are curly, ask for Jon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also - David is the BEST colorist EVER!!!!!! EVER! Best Stylist 12/3/2003

I can't speak for all of the stylists; however, I can say that I've seen Miles for the past 8 years and I will never let anyone else touch my hair! He always listens to what I want and always delights me with a gorgeous cut... We've been through bob cuts, long hair and everything in between! I spent years and thousand's of dollars going to Carter Barnes in Buckhead before I heard of Van Michael in Buckhead, this salon not only offers a better service for better value, it has good parking and the atmosphere is excellent. Recommend, Stevie, for color and Anandi for Cutting, finaly a person who is not sissors happy. Cons: free valet, price, atmosphere more

Excellent 2/21/2003

I have never left Van Michael disappointed. Each and every visit has resulted in not only complete satisfaction, but I always am ready to return as soon as possible. Each sylist and colorist takes an inordinate amount of time helping coordinate the exemplary hair experience. Pricing is reasonable and well worth every penny. I sincerely think everyone should visit at least once. Pros: products, colorist experience, atmosphere more

I am very picky about my hair - and having a hair stylist doing what I want and not their flavor style of the month is what I get at Van Michaels. I am very open to suggestions but I like a professional salon that listens. Van Michaels has been that for me for over 6 years now. more

Van Michael appreciates their customers! 1/23/2003

This past December I went to Van Michael to get my monthly haircut with Jon. The service was wonderful, as always, but this visit was different. As I walked into the front door, there was a plate full of cookies, hot cider, and a lot of holiday cheer. An incredibly nice young lady welcomed me and announced it was customer appreciation day! Later Jon kindly explained to me that all the retail was 10% off, and they do this only one time a year. I think it's wonderful that Van Michael takes the time to appreciate their customers! Finally!!! 1/20/2003

After experiencing several hair disasters, I was seriously considering flying home to Europe just to get a decent, up to date haircut. However, an article in Cosmo about Rob Cook at Van Michael Salon caught my attention. I thought I'd give atlanta one last chance. As I walked in the door I was met by the most pleasant and professional not to mention beautiful staff. After a detailed consultation, Rob worked his magic. PERFECTION! He gave me the most modern, chic and practical hairstyle that I have ever had. I finally found THE place. For anyone who is looking for a mind-blowing hair experience, I highly recommend checking out Van Michaels! Pros: everything Cons: NA more

Acted like I was wasting her time. 12/1/2002

Once I sat down in the stylist's chair, she acted like I was wasting her time. I explained to her that I wanted a simple bob haircut, after which she told me that she DIDN'T KNOW how to do that. Odd, considering that my friend who referred me has the same exact haircut performed by the same stylist whose chair I was sitting in. Then she told me if I came back the next day she'd cut it for me. I thought the purpose of an appointment was to set a time when you WANTED your hair cut, not to have the stylist tell you if you came back that she'd cut it later. I drove 45 minutes to get to the salon, so she totally wasted my time. When I complained to management, they didn't do anything to rectify the situation. I will never set foot in there again. Customer retention not important to Van! 11/6/2002

After being a customer at Van Michael's for 7 years, I found out just how little customer loyalty meant to them when my colorist changed salons. Not only did no one return phone calls as I requested a manager call me back to discuss the transition, I was not compensated for two missed appointments in a row! The only bright spot in this overpriced salon is the talented stylists. Cons: Very poor service, Scheduling hassles, Late/long waits more

Atlanta's worst 11/5/2002

Unfortunately, I went to Van Micheals hoping to experience a top quality and fashionable salon. Instead, I experienced a dungeon like environment with a production line mentallity from it's so called hair artisians. My so called artisian didn't even try to listen to my requests or needs. For example, I requested to have my lusterous red hair even out as red without the blonde hilights, and the hair dresser died it dark brown. So, save your time and money on this one. Cons: No one listened, Dark and dreary env., Damaged my hair more

I moved to Atlanta and spent the first 2 years timing my visits to Boston so I could get my hair done. Since finding Van Michael Salon I no longer have to worry that my flight will be late and I won't be on time for my appointment. more

Don't hate me because I'm beautiful 9/30/2002

I have been going to this salon for haircuts since I moved to Atlanta 5 years ago. I do not have a single complaint. I am always complimented on my haircuts and recommend this salon to everyone. Thanks for making me beautiful! Pros: Great Atmosphere, Experienced Stylists, Reasonable Prices more

Van Michael sucks! I was recommended to go to this salon, in the highlands, and I got the worst haricut ever! The place was nice and trendy, but the stylist are below average. It is also EXTREMELY OVER PREICED. Hair stylists who are more concerned with their ""look"" than their service. Pros: atmosphere, cleanliness Cons: pricey, no beverage, lousy cut more

Finally Found a Home! 9/7/2002

I relocated to Atlanta several months ago and knew the most difficult part of the move would be finding someone to do my hair. I tried several salons and was unhappy and frustrated. Just as I was thinking I would have to fly back to Dallas to have my hair done I found Gregg at VM. The salon is very sleek yet comfortable, the staff friendly and the prices are suprisingly low. The salon also has one of the best selections of Aveda products I have ever seen. I give it 10 stars! Pros: Inexpensive, Selection of Products, Atmosphere more

...but generally very mediocre. The stylist was completely unoriginal and lacked any sort of creativity. Not recommended if you want anything more than a bob or straight cut. more
