Ups Store

When I entered the store an employee lounging at the door asked if she could help me, when I said "yes" and handed her my package, she said, "I ain't carryin' that thing." and stomped off. Without prompting, the employee behind the counter said "She's pregnant." What? is this the Jerry Springer Show? I don't care, and if she can't help, why is she at the door asking if she may? It went downhill from there. Awkward, rude, abrupt and juvenile the employees mumbled advice to one another while never making eye contact with me. It was like one of those convenience stores you happen into in the middle of the country run by the village lunatics. more

I have used this store 3 times. The first time I was helped by an elderly gentleman, who, although he was very nice, seems to suffer from some sort of medical condition. I'm all for people with disabilities having equal opportunity, but it took this poor man 10 minutes per person (I'm not exaggerating). Still, I wasn't in a particular hurry, so I just knew not to use the store when I was. The second time I needed to get my passport photos done. The same man started to help me, but it took forever and then he couldn't hold the camera steady. So the woman who everyone has complained about came to take it. She was perfectly friendly, but she charged me almost $12 for the photo. I didn't ask up front because I never imagined it would be that much, so I paid it and left. When I got home I realized that there was a reflection from my glasses obscuring my eyes. These places are certified to take these photos (I think), so I figured she should have caught it. I had to drop off a package anyway, so I went back. She said she'd have to charge me again for the photos, so I told her that I'd get them done elsewhere. She then told me about $1 taping fee. Then, when she saw that my label had codes for both UPS and USPS, she told me I would have to cut one of them off and handed ME the scissors to do it. Then she ripped my label. I was so mad I could have punched someone. Plus, the place is a total mess. more

The UPS store at Central and Yale has always quickly gotten me in and out of the door when I need to ship something via UPS. But even better is their notary service. For only $5, I can have something notarized in less than 5 minutes! The hours that the store is open really helps because it is typically hard to find a notary after 3 pm as many of them work at banks. The staff has always been helpful. more
