I recently phoned with some concerns about caring for my cat. The woman I spoke with was knowledgable, friendly, and ultimately very helpful. I have taken my kitty in to see the doctor here in the past, and also found the same. Great clinic, I'm glad to have a vet like this in my area! more

I genuinely LIKE this veterinarian. One-on-one, personalized service and Super caring veterinarian. I really appreciate the fact that my pets have a trustworthy neighborhood vet. Very good care of all of my pets. Very reasonable price, especially in contrast to the other Cap Hill vet (Broadway Vet which was fabulously expensive). Able to get quick competent care here with professional staff and as I said, great veterinarian. more

I have taken my cats to Dr. Boudreaux/Capitol Hill Animal Clinic for the past 15 years. Most recently, I had to take in my elderly cat who has always suffered from severe respiratory problems and who had contracted such a severe infection that I felt I was really going to lose her this time. Dr. Boudreaux and her staff hydrated her and attended to her without hesitation each time I felt it necessary to bring her in. My cat is now well on her way to recovery because of Capitol Hill Animal Clinic and I owe Dr. Boudreaux and the staff a tremendous debt of gratitude for saving my sweet old cat. I felt the cost for my visits and my cat's care was reasonable and I recommend this clinic highly. more

Taking a precious and much-loved pet to this place could prove to be a very costly experience for both your pet as well as your wallet, in my opinion. I would NOT recommend that anyone jeopardize their pet's well-being or waste their money and time in this clinic. Incompetent and expensive in the extreme. more

I can't believe the posts above. It is siimply not true that the staff is rude. They are all animal lovers and it shows. The Vets and techs take such good and loving care of my cats and I am grateful that this vet is in business. I wouldn't take my cats anywhere else and they are healthy as can be. Don't listen to the negative reviews. I've been going to this vet for 10 years and I've never had a problem with the staff or the service. 5 Stars is not enough to describe how dedicated, knowledgeable, and loving this vet is. The reason that this vet is a little more expensive than the rest is because of the quality of care that your animal will receive. I have 4 happy and healthy cats and it is all because of this animal clinic. My 10 year old cat had to spend the day there today because of a fever and it cost me $45. He is currently sitting on my couch, so happy that he's not sick anymore. If you have older cats they need more care and medication so that is why the vet will prescribe it. I visited this veterinarian office upon the request of friends who said this was a great vet. I took my dog in for his annual check up. This staff was so rude it was unbelievable. First of all, there was a cigarette box on the counter with an old, already smoked cigarette in the box that was stinking up the whole waiting room. Next, I was taken to the examination room and the woman was not friendly towards my dog. The vet came in, a very aggressive woman, and said only negative things about my dog. She even went on to talk about things that were wrong with him that I wasn't even there for nor had I mentioned. I paid 117.00 for a basic examination and walk out with a 1000.00 estimate on surgery and x rays they felt my dog needed. The vet talked down to me and was very condescending. My dog is only 5 years old, and I have taken really good care of him. This vet made me feel like my dog was an eyesore and the unhealthiest thing she had ever seen. My old vet was so loving to my dog and always shared good news and bad news equally. They were so honest and never tried to soak you. These people do act burdened by your visit and want to take you to the bank for things that are completely unnecessary. My dog means everything to me and finding a good vet for him is like finding a good doctor for yourself . I checked out of this office feeling taken advantage of and depressed that my dog was sick. And after my 30 min appt. that cigarette box was still sitting on the counter. more

The folks at this clinic were nice enough, but they were not helpful with planning for the cost of their recommendations. For instance, they prescribed special food for our overweight (big-boned!) cats. They sold us this food and it was costly. They didn't present us with choices, such as a different feeding schedule or a range of food options. We eventually quit that and let the cat outside. She lost weight. When one cat got sick, they did a lot of expensive blood/urine work without warning us of the cost, then just shrugged their shoulders about what was wrong or what we should do to help. They visit the ills of the expensive and ineffective human medical care system upon helpless kitties! more

We recently left this vet office because it seemed to place a greater emphasis on being a business than on providing loving care for our dog. And since we left, every other pet owner we know who has taken their pet there has said the same thing. Although one of the vets was very good with our dog, most of the staff seemed to see our visits as a burden on their time. In addition, not only do they charge an arm and a leg (such as a $25 charge to remove stitches after a surgery that had already cost quite a bit), they always seem to find something wrong with the animal, requiring further testing. In the end, we just didn't feel good about entrusting them with the care of our beloved pet. more

These folks grossly overcharge, and you kinda get the feeling like they're prescribing things just so that you'll pay them more money. They're nice enough people, but we just felt like we couldn't really trust them. After taking our elderly cat there and spending about half a grand on medical treatments, we found out we're not the only ones who felt that way. Apparently they're known for gouging. Word on the street is you'd be better served waiting in the walk-in clinic on Rainier Ave. more

Actually, my cat hates it, but that's normal, isn't it. What's important is that I like the Capitol Hill Animal Clinic. Many of our friends also use this veterinarian. The staff is friendly and helpful. Parking can be a bit of challenge, although there's usually a spot just around the corner. The waiting room is smallish. The vets are very professional and seem quite knowledgeable. more
