I am not a cat person, but I love books so I was willing to give this used bookstore a try. But honestly the cats, cat smell, and cat hair where way too distracting to enjoy brows...

Save the Best Sell for Last 6/25/2005

I like this store because they endeavour to shield their customers from the neighborhood noise on its busy street. They request that customers turn off all cell phones searching for books. Their selection is great; I got a first edition of a book, and many of their books are quaintly old. Compared to Half-Priced Books, this place isn't cheap, and their selection certainly isn't as large, but many of their books are in better condition. more

The bookstore I wish I owned 5/28/2005

Used books. Good prices and a great selection. Looking for an easier experience than Half Price Books? Try out Twice Sold Tales. They have all the good books you want minus the garbage you don't feel like looking through. You can sell books here too, but only on Saturday between 12 and 3. They are friendly and the workers know their books. They are open all night on Friday nights for those times when you get an itch to read late. Don't annoy them or their cats, there are plenty of warnings posted about it. Much much better cash for books than anywhere I hacve found. they won't take just anything but what they take they pay a little more for. Try 'em out. more

An OK used book store 5/11/2005

Twice Sold Tales is a small used book store located on the corner of E. John and Broadway. The staff is generally helpful and while the selection is small you can occasionally discover a good find of a book. They seem to have low turnover in their books though. Visit the store a few times and you will barely notice any new books in various sections. Plus, there are the cats that roam the store. I generally like cats, but the issue is not the cats themselves but their litter box. This was placed right below the science book section. The smell definitely brings an odorous end to any book browsing. more
