When I called to install they offered to come out the next day. Same thing when I had an issue with my digital box. Simple fix, unplug the power and back in and it worked great....

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE CRAPPY CRAPPY COMPANY 9/24/2008

I'd have to say it's pretty sad that a cable company stinks so freaking bad that I would avoid moving into another place if TvMax was the only cable company available. THAT SAYS A LOT! Read all the freakin' reviews below for goodness sakes!!!!!!!!!! The costumer service is horrible. I swear the last time I called the lady answered, ""Yeah dis be Shanita wit TvMax what can I do fo' ya today sir?"" WTF kinda $h1t is that!?!??! $50 dollars for basic cable!???! My GOD!!! DirecTV is only $30 dollars a month!!!!! And the guy below mentioned the website, HAHAHHAHHAAHHA OMG....more like a third grader built that website jeez. There are too many bad things to list about this company. Just believe what you read on this site. All around horrible company, they should be ashamed of themselves. HIGHWAY ROBBERY FOR SURE. STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM TVMAX SERVICE. YOU'D ENJOY A 13 INCH BLACK AND WHITE TV WITH BUNNY EARS BETTER THAN TVMAX SERVICE. TVMAX IS A JOKE. THANKS FOR READING, AND IF YOURE TVMAX READING THIS ""F*CK YOU!"" Pros: NOT A D@MN THING Cons: EVERYTHING more

TV MAX HAS THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED BY FAR 9/24/2008

Where do I begin? I have had cable one, Dish network, Direct TV. And by far the worst customer service i have ever had is tv max. Not to mention the signal. I had an install scheduled and they charged my card before they even hooked up my internet. I would not reccomend tvmax to anyone EVER. IF YOU CAN AVOID THIS SCANDELOUS COMPANY AND THE RAGTAG TECHNICIANS THAT ""WORK"" FOR THEM DO SO AT ALL COSTS!!!!! Cons: CUSTOMER SERVICE, TECHNICIANS, MANAGERS...ETC. more

how is this company still in business? 8/9/2008

Oh that's right - they suckered several apartment complexes to sign 25 year contracts. A quick way to sum up this terrible service is to check out the website that looks like it was designed by a 5th grader. ""What's new?"" PPV and paying online. Really? If by ""new"" you mean ""been available for every other cable provider for 10 years,"" then yes. No HD? No DVR? Enough said - horrible. Pros: as soon as their contracts are up with apartment complexes, hopefully they will go out of business Cons: everything more

Shockingly terrible and ancient service. 8/9/2008

I don't even know where to start in criticizing so lets just make a list. Pros: Service is limited to small unfortunate group of apartments. Cons: It exists. more

Sell your stock. 8/1/2008

Run. Sell your stock. Move if you must. Before you rent in Houston, make absolutely sure that there are options. Billing does not match what you signed up for. I thought I had a deal. $60 a month. I've had nothing but problems with the cable and internet service. And i'm being billed in excess of $110 a month. Try to complain. No one cares. if you have a problem, make sure you've got a lot of patience, and then don't be surprised if you get no satifaction. My techie son had to help THEIR techs (outsourced btw), to fix a major problem with their internet service. Turns out, they use a technology that rolls through the IP addresses (tech issue way over my head), but what it means is that sometimes they run out of IPs, and guess what?, you're out of luck until other neighborhood users get off the internet. Pros: Timely billing Cons: Billing incorrect. Many Internet drops. Poor customer service. more

TV Max is the reason why I am moving out of my apartment. 6/6/2008

First off, every month since February my paper bill has been different than the amount I am told to pay when I call in to pay over the phone. I'd say about a $15-20 difference. Every month I have to explain to the rep what is going on and fax in the bill. I have even had to go to the regional office here in Houston, which did not help. They just say that it is the company that does their billings fault. Back in April I had a supervisor call me and tell me that they were going to credit the amount that I over paid. So, do you think they actually credited my account? Hell no. So, now I have this so called XD TV that goes out and the guide says ""No EPG"" on the majority of the channels. I pay $4 extra month just to be able to watch the channels that I pay $104 a month for. Then on top of that, there are no Cinemax channels and only one HBO. I called and the rep stated that they care trying to fix that, yet I'm paying full price. When I got the new cheap box, I informed them tha I had all the channels, but they put me down for Deluxe. I told them that all the channels were working on my cable and not to change it. Two reps told me that it would stay the way it is. Guess what? Yesterday, my extra channels stopped working. I'm not even going to call them again. i'm not paying any more bills and I will be contacting the Consumer Rights division of the OAG for their billing practices. I have lived in 3 apartments that have TV Max and in each one I had to pay extra to have jacks installed to watch tv. Now, I can only watch my wonderful cable on one tv, because I refuse to waste $60 per a jack. So TV MAX, you will never see another red cent of my money. Good day. Cons: The people who run TVMax and there are many others.... more

Not a company, but a scam. 4/14/2008

No need to go into the details of not having service for 3 weeks after paying for everything they asked for and wasting hours in my apartment waiting for the TVMax technician Unicorn that does not exist. RECOMMENDATION: go into the Texas business bureau AND the Texas State Attorney General's Office websites and file a complaint online. That's what I did and I got all my money back + a slur of useless drooling apologies from TVMax. It takes only a few minutes. OBJECTIVE?: put them out of business altogether. These guys don't belong in the US... The one star rating is because the system does not allow me to select minus 5 stars. Pros: none whatsoever Cons: all whatsoever more

WORST company ever!!!!!!!!!!! 3/27/2008

First of all my cable went out for two days I called them on the second day and they sent out a representative to fix my cable, but wait, the day that I called there was already someone here fixing the same problem, why couldnt they have them fix mine? regardless, a guy came yelling on his cell phone and cursing in the parking lot. He said there was an outage for all the apartments in my ""block"" many of my neighbors have satellite so they didnt have this problem. he said that he needed to call in another guy and that he would be here in 20 minutes, the guy left, and no one showed up i called them back complaining this was SUPER BOWL SUNDAY WEEKEND, they said a manager would call me back, no one did. i called back the next day, saturday, and i opted for spanish because for some reason that has gotten me further, but then a woman came on speaking english and i demanded it be in spanish but apparently there is no spanish opt. on the weekend even tho its on the menu. so the next day i have my husband talk to a rep in spanish, the guy was TALKING BACK and OVER him, NEVER IN MY LIFE has that happened. I want to talk with the Better Bus. Bureau but they need it to be written and the process is too long. My cable was out 6 days. they said it was the wiring on the complex, so after a year of service the wires all of a sudden stop working, and i talked to the complex and they said no its not the wires and they werent made aware of the problem. the worst part is that my complex is contracted with this horrid company and I can't switch to another company. THEY NEED TO BE REPORTED. more

Overpriced, Inferior Company-UPDATE! 3/26/2008

Now it's MY fault I 'm having bad experiences with TVMAX. This company is a joke. This isn't the 1st time that I've been told the problems that I have with TVMAX service is due to something on my end, not their's. I've been told that the router I use is bad (but I have 2 routers, so I guess both of them coincidentally quit working at exactly the same time); been told that the modem was bad; and was just now told that the reason they're having trouble crediting me for the month my Internet service was down was because I didn't ""call"" them. *blank stare* Are they kidding? Here's what happened. I'd spoken to Diane in the regional office earlier in the day about my issue. Originally, I'd called to speak with Sandra, the manager. But, Diane took it upon herself to look into my problem. Diane basically told me that TVMAX wouldn't give me a credit even after I directed her to call Ignition and look at the notes from Ignition verifying how they'd been at fault. I told her I didn't want to speak with her and that I wanted Sandra to call me back. I also left a very irritated message for Kenny Walker, the General Manager.I never did speak to Sandra because she had Diane call me back to tell me that TVMAX had changed their mind and would give me the credit. BUT HERE'S THE KICKER-Diane was instructed by Sandra to tell me that it was my fault the service was down. Apparently, neither Sandra nor Diane know for certain the proper process their company takes when issuing a work order. Sandra said I should've taken these steps to get a work order: Call TVMAX (You won't speak with a TVMAX rep because they transfer you to Ignition). Tell Ignition your problem (Ignition says ""we can't help because the one button we pushed shows your Internet is working""). Call TVMAX back to get a work order for repairs that Ignition can't fix. Hmm, all the other times, Ignition sent the work orders in. But, now the customer is supposed to call TVMAX back when Ignition fails on their end. Pros: Pros do not exist with this company Cons: Management does not take responsibility, Inferior Internet service, bad pricing, lousy customer service, cable constantly out, will not give credit when it is due more

Worst customer service ever!!!!! 1/24/2008

I signed up on here just to leave a review. How bad is that?! Pros: None that I know of. Cons: Weak channel line-up, poor customer service, no HD, too expensive for inferior product more

TVMax is the worst 12/26/2007

Been a TVMax ""customer"" for 2+ years now. Pros: Fast + easy Cons: Expensive + poor service more

Forget about it! Just find another way. 10/27/2007

I created an account on Citysearch just to write this review because I am so infuriated with TVMax! Their billing system is unimaginably bad. I was not sent bill for a couple of months, and when I finally received one, I had been charged with a bunch of services I did not request. When I called them to ask about it, they said that for some mysterious reason my bills had not been sent out to me. Of course this is not the first time it happened. Once I could put down to human error, but twice just means that they have lousy business practices. When I asked them to tell me exactly what I was being billed for, they could not give me a straight response. Their internet service is a joke. Sometimes it works fine, but most of the time it moves so slowly almost to the point of not working at all. Calling customer service about this does not help either as they insist I must have some form of virus on my laptop(yeah some virus that only make my internet slow when using their service). more

Never, never, never use this company 8/17/2007

I won't repeat what other negative reviewers have said. I agree with all of them. But this company's latest scheme is even worse than bad service. TVMax is ""upgrading"" its service. Or so they say. Actually, all they're doing is changing to a newer guide channel for their digital subscribers. That's it. However, those of us that have older digital set-top digital boxes will have to trade them for newer ones. We have 2 weeks to take our boxes to the TVMax ""office"" and pick up a new one. The ""office"" is over 40 miles round trip from our apartment complex. If we don't trade out the box we will no longer have a guide and the remote will no longer work with the box we have. I can't believe any company (IS this a company??) would put this kind of burden on their customers. There oughta be a law!!!! The customer service rep says this is the fastest way to accomplish this changeover. Yeah. For the company, not for the customers. Their website email form is no longer working. Hmmmm..... Stay away from TVMax. Pros: Absolutely none. Cons: Service, channel selection, no DVR, no HD, no movies on demand.... more

TVMAX - a bit of information 8/7/2007

This is mainly directed at the guy saying that TVMAX is great. TVMAX is not really a company anymore. They are based in Houston, but that is only because the CEO lives in Houston and he works out of his living room. TVMAX has no corporate offices, they sold them. That guy that comes and installs your TVMAX box, he doesn't even work for TVMAX. That phone number you call for help, they don't work for TVMAX either. TVMAX has absolutely no corporate infrastruce, and they are only staying afloat by forcing consumers in apartment complexes to use them. The TVMAX company is for sale, so somebody please, COMCAST, buy them out. No high definition? How the hell do you survive nowadays without offering high definition? I used to have Comcast, but I moved and now I am forced to use TVMAX. All of a sudden, I just quit watching television. TVMAX is that bad. They do not provide jobs to people in your community and they are no more local then Comcast. Pros: I spend more time with the dog now that I have TVMAX and dont watch TV anymore Cons: No high def, cable box is from the 80's, terrible service, who charges to hook up outlets in your apartment? (9.95 per outlet) more

WARNING: AVOID AT ALL COST !! 8/4/2007

I agree with all the ratings. WORST CABLE Company, live without Cable rather than taking service from them. Save atleast 50-60 dollars minimum per month. No promotions, no quality of service you pay way too much compared to other quality service providers. TV Max usually go into apartment communities signing deal to not allow any other competiton( because than noone will take them comparative), they pay management a monthly share, so all apartment management also becomes partners in ripping customers off. Avoid them, live with Antenna... Cons: Expensive, No HD channels, Bad internet connection, frequent outages more

Fantastic employees, god-awful service. 7/19/2007

I have used every cable/internet provider in Houston, and TV MAX has the most inconsistent internet I've ever come across. To put it quite simply, my internet went out 2-3 times a day, randomly, and I'd have to call them. I gave them 2 stars because it's nice to call a company and get to talk to a real person within seconds of dialing the number. All of their employees are very friendly as well. If only their product was as excellent as their staff. Pros: Nicest staff I've ever dealt with Cons: Worst internet/cable service I've ever dealt with more

""Great Service Great peeps"" - ONLY ONE positive response.. that too from TV MAX !!!! 7/17/2007

Check the Other Review ""Great Service Great peeps"" - This is the ONLY review that has all 5 starts.. And ALL else are one.. why. Its clear that the TV MAX service is the worst in market. Their employees or someone there atleast saw it and thought of fooling people and wrote this review.. Man, today people are smart enough to understand what is happening.. Cons: ALL more

Avoid TV Max Cable and Internet at all costs!!! 7/16/2007

THE WORST INTERNET AND CABLE SERVICE YOU CAN PAY HIGHLY FOR Pros: They have a service that some of us need Cons: Internet service, customer service and clarity more

$330 to set up digital 7/3/2007

I called TV MAX because I thought I was stuck with them at a new complex I moved into. I've had them in the past because I did not want to get stuck with a 1-2 year contract with a satellite company and it was just ""ok"" service so I knew what to expect. Pros: None that I can think of Cons: Just read the review! more

Good service, good peeps. 6/19/2007

it's a shame that most of the people who write these reviews are usually the ones that are angry about getting charged late charges for actually being late or blame technicians for things that are out of their control. TVMAX is one of the better, friendlier, LOCAL companies that are supplying cable and Internet to the properties that the big corporations don't want to deal with. If it weren't for TVMAX, many people wouldn't have any service to complain about at all, OR they'd be paying twice as much. Pros: Local company, friendly people. more
