Your Dog is Well Cared For!! 6/25/2009

My puppy, Gus, is a 7 month old shih-poo who stays at Tucker Pup?s when I have to go out of town. His stay there from June 5 thru June 8 went very well. Gus does not seem to like other dogs, a fact my husband and I are both aware of, but despite this, all the employees were very accommodating with him. The ones I spoke with when I picked him up were very honest, realized he wasn't comfortable all the time with the other dogs and they did what they could to keep him from stressful situations. I appreciate the fact that they tell me what he was like and how he acted, even though it might not be what they think I want to hear. In fact, one girl was just very concerned for Gus because she knows all the dogs there have so much fun and she felt so sad that it didn't seem fun for Gus. How refreshing to have a perfect stranger be concerned that your dog wasn't having enough fun!!! It certainly isn't anyone's fault at Tucker Pup's that Gus is afraid of other dogs and my only concern when I leave town is that he is somewhere safe, with people who will accept him for who he is and not be any less attentive to him just because of his fears. Tucker Pup employees try very hard to incorporate him in the fun and I like the fact that they don't force him to act in a certain way. One employee even offered suggestions to me of things I could work on with him to get him to be tolerant of other dogs, some of which I've tried ....today, he actually sniffed another dog when we were in the pet store....something he never would have done a month ago!! I'm working hard with Gus at home and I've been assured that Tucker Pup's will always welcome him to stay there. I, too am sometimes sad that he doesn't run around and enjoy playing with other dogs, but as we all know each dog is different and should be accepted for what they are. I truly appreciate that Gus is well cared for, safe, and enjoyed by the staff when he stays at Tucker Pup?s. I never worry about him when I go away and would highly recommend this facility to anyone who wants excellent care for their dog when they're away. A big thanks to everyone at Tucker Pup?s for all that they do!!! more

Not as Great as Fake Reviews Say 3/24/2009

Its ok. the training class with Debbie did not help my dog at all and she talked too much about her own dog. The play area looked good but the place was just way too crowded and overcrowded. I understand not all dogs get along but scratches and scabs happened more than once I dont think they stop fights soon enough. Pros: None Cons: Overcrowded day care, bad training more

Feel good about leaving your dog with caring staff 12/5/2008

It took awhile, but Noel seems more and more comfortable at Tucker Pup's. Now when I drop her off - most times - she has stopped making me pull her out of the car and excitedly scampers in to play. The very best part that I most appreciate, though, is that I can tell that a few particular members of regular staff really enjoy Noel. I can also see that Noel really enjoys them back. Knowing people enjoy and like my dog makes a huge difference in feeling good about leaving her there - not to mention these are clearly just truly good, kind people who love dogs. It's good to know a place that will take such good care of her and be there so that I can leave her somewhere safe and caring when I have to do business trips. more

Now I Can Travel in Peace 12/5/2008

I board my lab Sam at Tucker Pup's every time I leave town. Before his first visit, he had never been boarded, and I was nervous about leaving him. But he obviously had a great time, and he came home happy, healthy and exhausted from all the playing. Now I can leave town without worrying a bit, and I know he's happy and well cared for. more

Tucker Pups is like "Cheers" bar for my dog :) 10/14/2008

My dog Bruno had been a regular at Tucker Pup's daycare up until this summer when he had to have knee surgery. Today was Bruno's first day back after a few months recovery and I was touched that the TP staff remembered him and welcomed him back so warmly after his unfortunate absence. His tail went up and started wagging furiously the minute I opened the car door to let him out in the parking lot this morning and his buddy Banana was right there to greet him too. It means a lot to me that he has a wonderful place like Tucker Pups to hang out at - he was 'out of commission' after his knee surgery for so long and I know he was genuinely missing his playtime and friends at TP's. The owner Joel and rest of the staff are amazing and the natural treat/food selection is great too! Pros: Facility, Customer Service, Services more

Finally a place for my dog downtown 9/24/2008

Coming to Tucker Pups has been a tremendous experience for both Bosco (my 2 year old dog) and myself. I know Bosco likes it because he doesn't want to leave when I pick him up and he always gets so excited when I drop him off. I like it because I have been searching for a daycare/boarding environment, in the city, I trust and feel comfortable leaving my "boy" with. more

Unbeatable dog...and people...training! 9/18/2008

We loved the Good Manners 2 class! We had gone through the puppy class and then proceeded on to the next class. It is impossible to say enough good things about the training program. Not only does Debbie help you train your dog, she trains you! Our dog loved going to class and not only did our dog learn in class, she worked hard on the homework too. Our 5 month old puppy now will wait for us to walk through doors, walks like a dream next to us and doesn't pull at the leash, sits when meeting new people, doesn't run after dropped food, and loves learning new things! I had a lab when I was younger and he was never this well behaved! The best part about the class is that Debbie teaches you how to work with your dog towards good behavior instead of "at" your dog. "Yes!" Pros: Debbie - Amazing trainer, the dogs love her! more

Thorough and Caring dog care..imagine this! 9/2/2008

I was very impressed with the facility and knowledge of the staff. I certainly had a good feeling leaving my dog in your hands and will continue to do so in the future. It put my mind at ease from the beginning. Accessibility is key and Tucker Pup's exceeded expectations. more

A great place to train your dog! 9/1/2008

We just finished Good Manners 1. My husband, Colin, and I thought it was a great help. Our dog is very smart but rather misbehaved, and this really helped to get him pay better attention to us. Plus, this is my first dog (not my husband's) and I learned a LOT about being a good dog owner/trainer. (I still have much to learn). Pros: Parking, good neighborhood, great staff, flexible schedule Cons: a little far from where we live in Uptown, but it gave our dog a chance to get used to riding in cars! more

Excellent training for dogs and their owners 8/26/2008

The Good Manners 1 course was very helpful. Debbie made it easy for me to understand what it takes to communicate with my dog. Though I will have to work away at training (myself as well as my dog) every day, I feel confident with the basic tools learned. more

Best Doggie Home away from Home! 8/18/2008

Thank you so much for your flexibility! We were in a pickle late Saturday morning and couldn't bare leaving Bobby in his kennel at home for the day. We dropped him off without you having a warning and you were able to take him. I promise I won't make a habit of this, but I do appreciate your flexibility and willingness to help us out. Bobby clearly had a great time! He's still zonked! more

Great training classes 8/15/2008

We took the Good Manners 1 class with Debbie and it totally worked. We learned how to better handle Charger and was able to teach him some important commands. This class is as much for the training of the owners as the dogs! Pros: Easy drop off and parking. Charger loves it there! more

Great dog training 8/13/2008

I would highly recommend Tucker pup's. I recently completed Good manners 1 with Debbie Pros: Motivated trainer, clean room, social interaction for my dog Cons: Room was a little warm, but that is expected more

Great experience!!!!!!! 7/29/2008

Experience was great, everyone was very nice and helpful, Wrigley was very tired when I picked her up....I will bring her here again and I will tell other people about Tucker Pups. more

Fantastic Dog Activity Center 7/15/2008

Great day care, boarding and customer service. My dog Elvis has been visiting Tucker Pup's for almost two years and he absolutely loves it. He gets great exercise and never wants to leave. Pros: Great exercise for large dogs, friendly staff, flexible. more

Very professional dog handling and personable honest customer service. 7/14/2008

Walter looked great when I picked him up. I also appreciated the honesty of the dog handler. I was told that Walter had tried to dominate another large dog and there had been some dog 'arguments.' But before it escalated it got stopped. It was good to realize that what happened wasn't being withheld from me. more

Highly Recommended! 7/10/2008

It was so nice to be able to leave on vacation and have the peace of mind that my dog was in such good hands. Tucker Pup's facility is great! It's so nice that the dogs have so much space to run and play together both outside and inside when the weather is bad. When my dog got back home she was really tired out and slept all night long. Thanks Tucker Pup's, for taking such good care of her for me! more

Great day care and boarding 7/9/2008

The staff member upon check out was very friendly and let me know about how Fulton did during his stay. He also helped me carry everything to my car, which was nice! Fulton was very tired when we got home, which means he got a lot of great exercise during his time there, which we appreciate because he is a very high energy dog! We have left Fulton with one other boarding facility, and they did not offer to take his bed or toys, which I didn't notice at the time, but after having him stay with you, it seemed like Tucker's really try to make it comfortable and a home away from home for the dogs! Pros: friendly and knowledgable staff, dogs have a lot of opportunity for acitivity more

Positive Dog Boarding Experience 7/8/2008

Our 5 month old Weimaraner, Windy, boarded at Tucker?s Pup this past 4th of July weekend. This was Windy?s very first overnight boarding experience. We are happy to report that her boarding experience at Tucker?s Pup was extremely positive. First, Tucker?s Pup was able to board Windy on very short notice. Second, she had a great time. Third, when we picked her up we were able to talk with one of the staff members regarding Windy's poor eating habits. The staff member recommended the Merrick food products. We bought a bag of the food and so far so good. Pros: Free Parking, Accomodating, Responsive Customer Service more
