this is a great salon!

Recently had a cut and color at Treat - I will never go back there! The team lacks skill and they are rude. . . overpriced. I love Aveda products but I will start buying them so...

Love my new look! 7/25/2006

I found treat after reading an article in them in the September 2006 issue of Instyle magazine. I work in the fashion industry and just got done looking at my industry advance copy. They had such good things to say about the clothing lines they carry, including a lot of San Francisco exclusives, that I went to see for myself. I found a great outfit for the fall, and while I was there I had a consultation with the colorist Anjanette. She had some great ideas about softening my base color, and adding some highlights to brighten me up. She was so excited about doing my hair that I let her do it on the spot. What a wonderful surprise! Her suggestions were right on, and not only do I have a great new look for the fall, I have the clothes to go with it. When women everywhere are looking for great clothes, hair, and make-up, why hasn't someone opened a place like this sooner? By the way, I got to lay down on a cool bed to get my hair washed, and she gave me a foot-bath and hand massage with my color! Pros: Cool clothing lines, and talented hairdressers. Cons: no more

Is it possible to fall in love with a haircut? YES!! 7/25/2006

I hve been seeing my stylist, Cedric for years now at the fancy Maiden Lane salon where she worked. When she told me that she wanted to move to a salon with a better environment and feel, I did not hesitate to ask where she planned on going. She ended up at Treat, and what a wonderful surprise it was! Instead of the hectic, crazy scene that the downtown salons keep trying to convince everyone is ""upscale and what a expensive salon should be"" Treat was beautiful, calm, and fun. Of course, Cedric started on time, was quick and efficient, and had me looking and feeling great by the time I left, as she always does. The best part was the shampoo! Treat has these custom made beds that you lay down to get your hair washed in, rather than those awful bowls that pinch your neck. Oh yeah, my service also started with a complementary foot bath and hand massage! Pros: Beautiful and fun! more

Most understanding service providers. 7/11/2006

I have been a client of Treat for three years now and have always had a great experience. Where else does the staff give you a free footbath and hand massage every time? ( and with a smile? ) I felt compelled to write a review because of a client situation I witnessed on my last visit, and then seeing the client in question post a review under the name cecsun. I will admit that I am a little defensive of my hairdresser, but I can not sit by while this person makes stuff up. She got her hair done in the chair next to me and made it very clear in her consultation that cost was a big concern for her and that she wanted to see a colorist that was just starting out. She then asked for something that was SO NOT natural in color that you would have to be a magician to get it right. She told the colorist that she wanted bold highlights in the craziest shade of purple that I have ever heard of. When they were done she told the colorist that they were not the EXACT shade of purple that she wanted and made the girl redo her hair. Before she started she asked a second colorist for his opinion and he agreed with the formula. When they washed off that color, her highlights were purple, but the woman said it still was not EXACT. She then made this poor girl redo the entire color over. Once again, the colorist asked the opinion of a THIRD colorist before applying the color and she agreed with the formula. Of course when they were done this woman still was not happy and threw a FIT! They told her that they would try again at no charge for any of the color services that day, and she then told everyone that it was fine and actually gave her colorist a hug before she left. Talk about wierd passive/aggressive behavior. I find it sad that people like this, who can not be pleased, try to use public spaces to try and ruin the reputation of people who only tried to make her happy. This salon is great and the people are wonderful, do not listen to one bad apple! Pros: Patient and understanding! more

great place to make wife happy 6/14/2006

I bought a gift certf. for my wife at Treat. I thought I would treat her to some pampering after just delivering our new daughter. To my suprise my wife was more excited than I could have hoped. Not only did she really enjoy her hair cut complete with foot massage, but she could also use her gift cert. in the clothing store as well. She came home a new person really feeling good about herself with her new look including outfit. \r \r \r Oli Christ more

Great Experience 12/8/2005

I read the review on city search and daily candy. I gather most of my information on the computer and was quite pleased with my Treat experience. I recieved a great haircut with all the Treat extras and I felt the price was very fair. My hair dresser was Kathleen and she had a great personality and made me feel relaxed and comfortable. I bought a few Aveda xmas gifts and a little something for myself. I would highly recommend. Pros: friendly, funny, easy more

Best fashion help EVER 11/13/2005

I had the best experience EVER buying jeans at Treat. For the first time I had real women offering real advice on selecting jeans that were both age apropriate and exactly what I was looking for. Tammy even told me to ""Take that pair off! you can do better"". She helped me find a pair that looked great, not to trendy and was even less $'s then the pair I was concidering. What a change from the usual retail treatment. This store has great choices you don't see everywhere and honest service. I have worked with both Tammy and Lisa and couldn't have been treated better!! Thanks, Melissa Hardy Pros: honest, great service, no retail attitude more

Terrible Color Experience! 11/12/2005

My entire experience was a nightmare! I walked in with much better hair then when I left. A couple of people have asked me if I colored my hair myself. When I went to get my hair color corrected at another salon, they turned me away becuase they said Treat damaged it too much. Cons: Color, Damaged Hair more

Natural & Buttery Blond! 11/1/2005

I have been looking for a colorist who can do a great, natural blond for some time. I can't tell you how many colorists have made me yellow/orange & tried to convince me it was ""blond"" before sending me out the door. I was referred to Jeremy, and was absolutly thrilled with the work that he did! I will definately be telling my freinds about him. GREAT blow dry also! Pros: Natural, Freindly, Fast more

Read review at dailycandy 10.17.05 10/29/2005

I went to this boutique after reading the reviews at citysearch & dailycandy. I bought a leather jacket that was more than I usually spend, but it was so unique I had to get it. When I left the store, I ran into some freinds on the sidewalk. While I was modeling the new jacket for them, a cute blond guy walked by and complimented me on it. I will be stopping by again when I need some more retail therapy. Who knows? maybe next time the cute blond guy will ask me out! Pros: Unique, Friendly, Great clothes more

Shopping dreams come true! 10/11/2005

I am originally from L.A. I use to do the majority of my shopping at Fred Segal and Barney's co-op. This is the first store in S.F. that I have found that carries the cool, fashion-forward brands that I am used to. If we are lucky, this is just the first of many bay area locations. Plus, the first store I have found where all the employees are friendly & helpful. Pros: Knowledgeable, Fashion-forward, Friendly more

What a treat! 10/6/2005

I have been using Aveda for years, and was thrilled to find this Salon. Exclusively Aveda, and I got a free hand, foot, and scalp massage with my service. Natasha, my sylist did an excellent job, and after talking to her I found out that she is on Aveda's national education team. Very Cool! Pros: Beautiful, Friendly, Talented staff more
