Excellent sales staff - terrible experience with alterations 4/30/2012

When I first came for my appointment at Traditions my mother and I arrived 10 minutes early, and were forced to wait outside in the middle of July for the start of our appointment. The saleswoman Martha however was excellent and was really able to turn the appointment around. She ended up pulling the dress that I purchased, and I had a great overall experience. However when I returned to Traditions when my dress and veil first came in and they had ordered the wrong color veil. After much convincing they did order the ""correct"" veil. more

The Only Place to Go! 9/17/2011

Shopping for my bridal gown at Traditions by Anna was an wonderful experience. I was fortunate enough to be paired with Anna herself for my appointment. She was so wonderful and understanding. My mother was in intensive care and unable to attend the appointment and she was able to help me through that while I tried on dresses. She respected my budget, offered guidance, and truly took my opinion, my father's opinion, my budget (my dress was $2500 UNDER budget), and how I looked in gowns into consideration when choosing dresses for me to try on. She even pulled a dress straight of a manikin in the window for me to try on (I bought it!)! The service and attention at Traditions by Anna was far superior there than any other salon in Raleigh I went to. Every Raleigh, NC bride needs to go here! more

The Perfect Dress for My Perfect Day 10/3/2010

Traditions by Anna was not originally where I had planned to purchase my wedding gown. Granted, I had an appointment to look around but I didn't see anything that was what I was looking for. That was until I met Jane. She had the experience to look past what was hanging on the racks and could invision the perfect dress! I didn't even want to try on the gown that I ended up picking but once I hide the straps and slid the dress on...my breath was taken! There was my perfect dress that I was going to marry the man of my dreams in! more

Felt awkward 8/25/2010

I went in the other day just to look around at their formal dresses, the door was locked but I know they are by appointment, she still let me in. I was looking at the dresses and she watched my every move. I felt like I was doing something wrong. She was looking me up and down like I wasnt as good as she. I didnt stay long because they didnt have much but I wont be going back just because of how I was treated. more

Wonderful Experience All-Around 8/3/2010

Having checked out most of the wedding gown stores in the triangle area, Anna's is the only one I would recommend. I found a beautiful dress that was exactly what I was looking for. The staff was incredibly helpful through the whole process. They even arranged my fittings to accommodate my crazy schedule (at the time I was living in northern Virgina and taking my 3rd year law school exams, so I was pretty inflexible... and they were incredibly understanding about it!) I ended up getting all my accessories through Anna too (necklace, hairpiece, and earrings) -- the staff even allowed me to custom design my earrings so that I could have exactly what I wanted. I cannot say enough positive things about my experience with Traditions by Anna. If you are looking for a wedding dress in the Triangle area, you should absolutely check their store out!!! Pros: Helpful staff and beautiful gowns more

Fabulous Dresses, Fabulous Service! 6/27/2010

Anna Kemp and Traditions by Anna made my wedding experience go so smoothly! Everyone that worked there were so attentive and nice. They were willing to give their honest opinions and had great advice. We were always invited to trunk shows, and we always felt as though we were the only customers in the store. Maria, the tailor, is amazingly talented. She and everyone else were so professional, yet made us feel welcome. I also bought my bridesmaids dresses there. I was able to custom order my bridesmaids dresses and wedding dress. Everything was beautiful! Buying a wedding dress and going for fittings are one of the most important and memorable parts of getting married. Traditions by Anna made it an unforgettable experience! Pros: Great Service and the Best Tailor! more

Great Selection, Great Service and Staff, Great Prices! 5/3/2010

My experience at Traditions by Anna exceeded my expectations from start to finish. The boutique is beautiful and the staff was extrememly welcoming from my first trip in. They let me browe the dresses on my own (some boutiques pick them for you), numerous times and were very patient as I tried almost every dress on twice! The staff was extremely knowledgeable about the designers (great great selection of designers) and details of each dress. They were honest and reassuring about each decision. Their prices are very reasonable for both wedding dresses and bridesmaid dresses which I ended up getting here as well which was very nice to get both at one store. I was traveling to town for my appointments and fittings and they could not have been more prompt when I arrived and flexible with my schedule. The dress arrived as scheduled and the alterations were a breeze. Their service was wonderful; pressing both my dress and veil numerous times, working with my bridesmaids, and remaining patient through my indecisive ways. My dress exceeded my expectations....it was perfect! I enjoyed each and every visit to Traditions by Anna. Overall, they made the dress experience for me memorable, stress-free, and fun. I would recommend Traditions by Anna to anyone! more

Amazing experience!!!! 5/1/2010

I had a truly fantastic experience at Traditions - I really couldn't have envisioned it going any better. They have a huge collection of gorgeous dresses at any price point, the staff is friendly and patient, and the store is beautiful. They all clearly love their jobs, and I never felt like I was being pushed with a hard sell. The associate I worked with (Martha - ask for her!) was just perfect! She spent 2 1/2 hours with me at my first visit, where I tried close to 20 dresses on before narrowing it down to 2, and then squeezed me in the next day and spent another 2 hours with me so I could come back to make a final decision! She was patient and encouraging, and had a great eye - she pulled the dress that I'll be wearing on my wedding day! By the time I left on Day 2, I had a dress, a veil, and a hairstyle finalized, and a huge grin on my face! I would recommend them to anyone and everyone. Pros: friendly, expert staff, gorgeous dresses Cons: none! more

Gorgeous dresses! 4/24/2010

I just found my dress at Traditions! I am kind of a picky shopper, and both of the ladies that helped me were really friendly and patient. I probably tried on a dozen dresses and lots of different veils (they have great veils too) and I found the most perfect strapless stress and veil. We had a champagne toast with my mom and best friend who were with me which was fun too. Thanks again!! Cindy Pros: Patient, friendly, helpful staff - Amazing alterations lady more

Great Experience 3/31/2010

I had a great experience with Traditions by Anna. A friend recommended I go there and I found a beautiful gown that I ordered. Even though it took three visits for me to make up my mind, my sales associate was always patient and very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend them for selection, quality, and service. Pros: beautiful dresses, friendly staff more

Save yourself some heartache and do not go here. 3/22/2010

I had the unfortunate experience of buying my wedding dress at Traditions by Anna. I overlooked the snobby salespeople on the date of my purchase because I really wanted a Priscilla of Boston dress and they are the only place in Raleigh where I could find the one I wanted. Just a few days after my purchase, I learned that I paid about 10% more for this dress than I would have anywhere else, including the Priscilla of Boston stores. As soon as my dress came in, I was informed that I had only one week to pay for the remainder of the dress (I had put half down). When I told them I was coming from out of town and that this would place a burden on me to rearrange my plans to come see the dress, they were extremely rude and did not extend the deadline, which would have resulted in a 15% charge to my account. After rearranging my schedule to accommodate their week deadline, I was dismayed to see that the dress looked different from the sample color I had tried on. I understand that this was not a specific result of anything done by Traditions, but they were extremely rude to me about my issue with the dress, making me feel like I had no choice but to pay for the remainder of the dress, which I did. Finally, I learned that the ONLY type of bustle that they do in house is the French bustle. Since I want an American bustle, I am in the position of having to find a seamstress on my own and will thus not be able to take advantage of the two pressings and storage that I had factored into advantages of buying with Traditions. In short, this shop is overpriced, has snobby salespeople, will not work with you, and has unreasonable payment policies. Thanks to them, I will be walking down the aisle in a dress that I paid too much of my hard earned money for and that I do not completely love. Save yourself some heartache and do not go here. more

Snotty saleswoman 10/19/2009

I went into Traditions expecting a very pleasant experience but unfortunately I was disappointed with my time spent there. I am in the market for a dress within the $1000-$2000 range and was told that they ""just don't carry many of those kinds of dresses"" as if $2000 is only a few pennies to throw around. I understand that there are other people out there who will shop there and spend over $5000 on their dress, but no other customers were in the store at the time and you would've thought she didn't want the commission. Also, the no photography policy is rather pointless because after telling me I couldn't take a picture to show my mom, she told me that I could go online and find it anyways. Her attitude was down-right rude and far from enthusiastic. No cheerful questions about when I got engaged or what I was envisioning for my dress, and definitely no smile upon her face- which I find odd for a bridal salon. I will not be buying my dress from Traditions. Thanks for making it a super easy choice! Cons: unhelpful, a very small selection more

Traditions Bridal: Buyer Beware 8/5/2008

I purchased a wedding dress from Traditions Bridal for $2,000. I was willing to pay this expense at a pricey, non-franchised vendor for an assurance of quality and customer service; that I truly thought I would be getting from Traditions Bridal and not other retailers. At the dress fitting, the zipper was sticking. I expressed my concern to the tailor at Traditions Bridal who positively assured me that it was fine and I would have no trouble with it on my wedding day. Having no experience in tailoring and her reminding me that she had tailored hundreds of wedding dresses; I accepted her professional judgment. Five days later, on my wedding day, the zipper sticks in the same place. Unfortunately, I was in very remote location at the top of the Smoky Mountains. My mother in-law was thankfully able to find needle and thread, and then literally sew me into the dress! Although, the day turned out perfectly; there was a needless stress and anxiety placed over the occasion, that could have been avoided. After receiving the run-around and un-returned phone calls from the owner for eight months, she finally told my husband that they do not guarantee their products or their work and that no part of the wedding dress price would be refunded. For me, part of the expense was for a calm and glitch-free wedding dress experience on that special day. I was very disappointed in their lack of empathy, crude, and unapologetic response to the situation. If you are looking for friendly customer care and service, after they have your money, then I would NOT choose Traditions Bridal! Cons: Very poor customer service, angry and rude owner and workers more

Brides tend to be testy...this place is fine...great even. 5/30/2008

If you're reading a lot of Bridala Store reviews, well, these women can be brutal. Lesson: Don't cross a bride-to-be or suffer the consequences (ala a woman scorned...). We were in Traditions today and found them very responsive and helpful. There were several brides in there and all seemed to be happy and getting the attention they wanted (we were in getting Flower girl dress). Very nice selection...maybe a bit pricy but VERY pretty dresses and of finest quality. I like this shop, would go back and recommend to another. Pros: pretty selection of dresses-yes, expensive, but it's YOUR day, might as well have the best. Cons: none more

Pressured to buy 3/20/2008

I had a terrible experience here. Not only did I feel pressured to buy (clearly the salesperson needed their comission quota that day) , but the prices were REDICULOUS! I was completely overwhelmed and left after trying on only a few gowns. The atmosphere was pompous and the salesperson was snotty. I did not feel special like I think every bride should when shopping for their perfect wedding gown. Pros: Pretty dresses Cons: Pressured atmosphere more

Made me feel like a princess 3/1/2008

The sales staff are absolutely wonderful! Before we started looking at dresses, I had a "consultation" of sorts with Anna where I described the feel and look I wanted to create for my wedding. She easily translated my thoughts into dresses and was so patient and helpful when selecting dresses for me. She helped me in the dressing room and provided snacks and drinks throughout the process. While the prices are higher than some other salons I've been to, they are well worth it. The construction of the dresses and the quality of fabrics, lace and beading is unparalleled by any other store I've seen in the Triangle. The women working there are fabulous. Many of them have daughters and are very in touch with both trends and also the more classic looks. They never tried to 'sell' me a dress but encouraged me to find what made me feel comfortable and 'bridal.' I wish I could try on wedding dresses there every day! Pros: Wonderful Staff!! Cons: Higher prices (but worth it!) more

my favorite bridal store in the triangle 11/7/2007

when i was looking for a wedding dress, i think i went to EVERY bridal store in the triangle. even though i didn't purchase my dress from traditions, it was by far my favorite. the staff was very friendly, knowledgable and attentive. they asked the right questions and listened to what i had to say. they have a beautiful selection of dresses at varying prices. i haven't been to their new North Hills location, but it looks gorgeous from the outside. I give Traditions my highest recommendation. Pros: service Cons: appointment only more

Great Customer Service Turned Awful After the Purchase 11/7/2007

Traditions was absolutely wonderful and helpful prior to my purchase. After I paid for my dress the staff was incredibly unhelpful and not willing to work with me or with my wedding part. On top of them being unhelpful they were just plain rude. You pay for their location NOT their service. I wouldn't recommend anyone visiting this store if you're looking for service. Pros: Great Location Cons: Rude, Unhelpful staff after the sale more

Amazing Customer Service, Beautiful Gowns 7/31/2007

I cannot disagree with the poor review more; I even registered to write a review in order to respond to it! I have had the best experience with Traditions. Traditions put all the other shops I visited to shame. Not only are their dresses gorgeous, the staff is far more professional, knowledgeable, and accommodating that any of the other shops I visited (here and in Atlanta). Moreover, I have been pestering them for months since buying my dress - asking: for recommendations on a tailor for other items, to hold the dress (my original wedding day got postponed 6 months), for additional fabric samples, for a jacket to be made, for a them to order a cocktail dress for me to consider for my bridesmaids...the list is truly endless! Despite all my requests, the service has been outstanding; each and every person I have spoken with has been wonderful - polite and knowledgeable. I could not give a stronger recommendation for Traditions; I would definitely recommend them to a friend. Pros: Service and knowledge make up for price Cons: Only carry expensive dresses more

Wonderful bridal shop 7/14/2007

Traditions was one of a few dress shops I visited in my search for a dress and I feel in love. The service was outstanding, especially Martha who was one of the main reasons I chose to buy my dress there. The owner was very professional and willing to accomodate our needs. Liz was also wonderful and very willing to help when I came back to try the dress on for a second time. They even kept it back for an extra day when the dress needed to leave for a trunk show. I was very impressed and wish I had saved myself a lot of headaches by only visiting them! Pros: Wonderful service, great designers, good location Cons: Pricey but VERY worth it! more
