Apologies for the unintentional rhyming there...
Anyway, what's left to say about Torung? Nice central location for almost anyone. The decor is awful, the food is quite good. Spiciness lovers swear by the Red Pepper Beef Curry, and I like the duck fried rice, basil beef, and squid dishes. The soups with the flaming kerosene are spicy and tangy; very flavorful menu all 'round.
I have no idea if it's authentic, but we recently celebrated a birthday dinner there, and had more food than we could shake a stick at for $12 a head. Excellent value, above average food, and a good central location. Call it everyone's neighborhood ethnic choice.
The booths are spacious, but don't bring a crowd larger than 6.
Pros: Location, Value, Food
Cons: Eye-searing decor, No liquor
