I went to this store for the fourth time today. I have always found the staff to be helpful. Great selection of cigars! They have always been very helpful with information about choosing the right smokes for my taste.Good selection of lighters and accessories also. Reccomended more

Customer Service is horrible 3/6/2012

Had very bad experience shopping at Tobacco corner. Found a much better selection and excellent prices at Tobacco Store on Shelby Drive Anybody looking for good selection in cigars,pipes and other related stuff, try Tobacco Store. I loved it. Not recommended for a pipe smoker 11/19/2011

I have to agree with ReginaldTHEcritic's review of this place. I just moved here to Memphis and have been looking for a place that carries tinned pipe tobacco. They didn't really seem interested in helping me and told me that they only really sell their own bulk mixes. I had to laugh when I read ReginaldTHEcritic's review because while they may only sell ""real cigars"" they definitely don't carry many ""real pipe tobaccos"". The prices are pretty high too - the one tin of Escudo I was able to find was $14 as opposed to the $10 I paid for it last time I got it. If you're looking for some great pipe tobaccos, I'd look elsewhere. more

Elitism and Poor Customer Service Pervade This Establishment 9/14/2011

I am an avid cigar smoker, who has recently moved to Memphis. After hearing about a Centennial Hop infused cigar, I called the closest cigar shop to me, which just so happened to be tobacco corner. I called and asked if they sold such a cigar. They told me as rudely as possible that they only sold ""real cigars."" I would not care if they told me if they did not carry anything like that. But to intentionally treat a potential customer feel like the lowest filth is inexcusable. more

Everything you wanted to know about pipe smoking! 5/20/2010

I walked in, met a gentleman named Ken, and explained that I was new pipe smoker. That was all Ken needed to hear, as he took off into a good half hour dissertation explaining all of the details and nuances of pipe making, briar, how to pack and smoke a pipe and how not to. I bought my first good pipe from him, and have valued the info received ever since. Pros: Mucho Info Cons: No salsa? more

cigars galore 5/17/2008

great place...stellar cigar selection, helpful staff...I really think they have pretty solid pricing too. I priced cigars in several other cities and even other places in Memphis, and this place beats them...in some cases by alot. They also offer 10% off on cigars by the box and I think a cash discount in some instances. It also smells great in there, not anti-septic, but pipe and cigar smoke permeating the air. (Regulars hang out in there and smoke.) more

Great tobacco store 3/19/2007

This is a great tobacco store - they have a wide variety of cigars and also a lot of accessories (lighters, ashtrays, etc). The staff is very knowledgeable on their smokes - plus it can get plain comical around there listening to the banter at times! Highly recommended - I understand it's been around for a while - I can see why. Pros: Knowledgeable staff; variety Cons: Location might not be convenient for everyone more

Classic Tobacco shop! 3/19/2007

This place is a Memphis landmark as far as tobacco shops go. They have a wide range of cigars and are very helpful for those that might need a little advice. Prices are fair. Lots of accessories. Highly recommended. Pros: It's an institution! Cons: Don't know of any more

The Round Table is the place where the guys sit, smoke and gossip, yes, men gossip too! Many friendships and business connections have been made over the past 46 years. Tobacco Corner, Ltd. was opened Aug. 1, 1969, on the Highland strip. In 1972, owners Elliot and Sandra Abel moved to the existing location on the corner of Poplar and Mendenhall in East Memphis.
