I've been living here for about a year and a half, and on the whole it's been great. The location is excellent (even if it is on a hill); it is in the free ride zone; the rent is affordable; it's close to all of the prime locations of Seattle; most animals are allowed (dogs are not); and finally the apartment manager is on top of almost any issue that may happen with the apartment. If your blinds fall off, he'll fix them in a flash, so on and so forth.
The one issue; noise. This apartment is full of it. First off, there are several neighbors who play loud music regularly, including the one I live above. I've asked the tenant to turn down the music repeatedly (and they always do), I've spoken to the manager about it, but despite this the loud music is still an issue regularly and has cost me hours at work (I've been sent home because of lack of sleep). All the manager has said is a) that there isn't anything else he can do about it and b) I am to keep coming to him every time this is an issue and to pass any issues through him and avoid a confrontation with the tenant (which I have). In other words, he doesn't want to take any further actions (that he can take, I checked out Seattle Noise Laws, chapter 25.08) and I need to learn to deal with it (bull).
On top of that, we have a couple of neighbors with dogs in their apartments (the one animal you're definably not allowed to have), including one that barks regularly from 5:45 to 6:00 am and another that howls all day on some days.
If you're a heavy sleeper, this won't be an issue. If you are a student working 40 hours a week and going to school 15 hours a week and spending 30 hours a week studying, you need all the sleep you can get and this isn't the place for you.
Otherwise, I highly recommend it.
