An inexpensive, delicious favorite 1/20/2006

This is one of my all-time faves. Casual, warm atmosphere with character. You really feel as though you are in a European bistro. Absolutely divine crepes, either savory or sweet. These are not your ultra-thin, delicate Parisian crepes, but glorious, toasty brown buckwheat numbers with fresh, yummy fillings. That, a big green salad and a frosty pint ~ nirvana. Pros: The food! Delicious., Inexpensive, Warm atmosphere Cons: Sometimes quite busy. more

Will NOT return... 11/15/2005

I used to love Ti Couz. But not anymore. I had a date at 6, but was early. The place was empty, but the hostess refused to seat me (even at the bar) or serve me (even just a drink) unitl I was a ""complete"" party. She was excessively rude, screaming at me and refused to get the manager. I left and we ate elsewhere. I understand the rule about seating incomplete parties so when 2 show up from a party of 5, they don't take up a whole table while they wait- but this was insanity. Management take note, there is room to compromise in this situation. It's called customer service... but it takes common sense. There are so many wonderful restaurants that I would rather give my dollars to one with decent customer service. I've never written a bad review before, but I was really offended. Pros: full bar, interesting food, great neighborhood Cons: HORRIBLE service, unreasonable rules, mean staff more

Decent Mission Lunch Spot 9/18/2005

Ti Couz is fine if you have time on your hands and a high tolerance for inattentive, rushed waitpersons. The crepes are fine, and the lightly dressed green salad is yummy. Fresh produce and delish cocktails are standard. An earlier review, labeling the mission as a ghetto was, unfortunately, misleading. It's a little sketch, so avoid Mission and head toward the bookstores and shops on Valencia after your meal! BEWARE: Parking is scarce, so grab a cab or take the underground. Pros: Drinks, Fresh Ingredients Cons: Waitstaff, Parking more

Delicious food 8/17/2005

Being a vegetarian, I wasn't sure if I would be that pleased. But the food was really good. The crepes were fantastic. One of the best eats in the city! more

Ti Couz = Heaven 7/14/2005

A good friend introduced me to Ti Couz a couple of years ago and i have been a fan ever since. At the time, i wasn't exactly excited to go to dinner for... crepes, but have since changed my tune! I've even taken picky, ""meat and potatoes"" relatives there and they love it too! I can't seem to order anything except the ""Totale"" crepe. Tomatoes, Cheese and the BEST Mushroom sauce. My husband and i always split the simple, Green Salad; the Totale crepe and a sweet crepe for dessert. Try to eat an entire entree crepe yourself. You just can't do it! (As much as i love this place, i hope it stays a secret. Maybe i should delete this review!) Pros: Quality of Food, Variety of Food Cons: A full meal is pricey, Service with Attitude more

Tasty and fun 7/7/2005

I went here a while back with a good friend. It was her decision, and I'm very glad I let her choose. The wait wasn't bad, considering it was lunch time (less than 10 mins). We each got a veggie crepe (not vegetarian, but it looked good), and split a cider. It was almost the perfect portion, if not a little too big. The cider was very refreshing, and I recommend you try it with your meal. I would definitely go to Ti Couz again. Pros: Cheap, Delicious, Fun more

Great for Desert, gets pricyy quick 5/7/2005

Went for after-diner crepes with a friend. Crepes light and not crispy or tough. Many many toppings to choose from, but the crepes get expensive quicky: try to stick with simpler combinations (sugar and lemon, just chocolate sauce). Somewhat dark inside, but also a few tables out on 16th St. Service was fast, food hot. Plan to return soon, great to take a friend or date. Pros: Excellent Crepes, Quick Service Cons: Gets Pricey Quick, Dark Inside more

Informal and fun 5/1/2005

Definitely rate this one higher on the food than the service. Very informal and authentic French crepe. The crepe's are very good. The savory crepe smothered in a mushroom reduction sauce are de vine. The salad is lightly dressed. Great cider but a rather poor wine list. Good for a sunny weekend day sitting outside enjoying simple quality fare at a leisurely pace. It's mission location makes this somewhat of a ""Let's Go USA"" kind of experience. more

Excellent brunch spot 3/16/2005

This cute little creperie is one of the Mission's best brunch spots. Crepes can be a little pricey -- but the traditional, flat crepes are worth the dough (try the mushroom cream version). Plus, you can get huge salads, soups and sandwiches. And the cafe au lait and other coffee drinks come in these gargantuan mugs--just the right amount of caffeine to jumpstart your day. more

Funky little place. 1/18/2005

Not for someone looking for a swank place. Not for someone in a hurry. Not for someone looking for a supersized meal. Ti Couz offers amazing good food. Walked in just before noon on a Sunday. When I saw my order I thought ""this is not going to be enough""...but it was...also ordered a dessert crepe that 3 us split. The taste(s) flavorful. Overall the other patrons seemed to be having a great time, on the counter or at tables. Ti Couz is right up there with ""Cafe Crepe"" in Vancouver B.C. I only wish someone can tell me an awsome crepe place in Seattle. Pros: Fair Price, Dessert, Funky more

food comes w/ bad attitude 6/27/2004

after $11 on drinks were told we couldn't sit at BAR (had to stand! was not a busy day); bill arrived before drinks; before we got to our 1st sip were asked 3 times about what we wanted (rushed!); drinks came in wrong size glasses (no big deal); paid drinks w/ $20 & left change on bar (which is bar etiquette) but was asked many times about it...bartender/server was generally unfriendly and annoyed...despite, FOOD is good...like many other SF restaurants, they need to learn about service... more

Great Food, Slow Service! 6/13/2004

I went here with my girlfriend for a nice lunch outing, and usually when I go by this place it's packed, but we got there right when it opened (at around 11 am). We had two delicious lunch crepes, a special and a sausage and cheese, then a dessert crepe. We spent over 2 and a half hours there, just for that. The food is great, pricey for portions, but the taste is great. Good for an outing or two. Pros: Taste, Lively Area Cons: , Value more

Service Was SLOW SLOW SLOW SLOW SLOW 5/9/2004

I know this is French food, but service was SLOOOOOW even for a French restaurant! I won't go back again, but I'll always remember the special scallop crepe and the chocolate moouse. more

Dreaming of Orange butter crepes... 3/25/2004

Ti Couz is a great spot for a casual late-night bite or weekend lunch. Put your name on the chalkboard and grab a drink while you wait for a table. They serve a large array of drinks and salads but crepes are the main dish here. Breton-style crepes made of dark buckwheat, I typically get the shrimp/scallops with seafood sauce, yum! The best part of the meal is dessert, mixing and matching ingredients, the orange-butter is a can't miss as well as banana-nutella-icecream. While the place is always busy, service is efficient and friendly. Pros: Delicious Crepes!, Great Service more

AWESOME FOOD 7/3/2003

The food was excellent, although the menu for the newbie is a little difficult to understand. Basically, you choose a meal and then you decide what you want on it. I'd highly suggest this place, and while I've travelled all over europe, I would say that this is one of the best french restaurants that I have ever had... Pros: DELICIOUS, TANTALIZING, FUN more

Good food, great value! 6/1/2003

Having lived in France for two years, I am extremely picky about my crepes, wine, and cheese. You can rest assured that, at Ti Couz, all three of these will be excellent! And the best part is that you don't have to spend a fortune. Ti Couz is, in my opinion, is one of the best places to go for a low-key dinner. Pros: amazing crepes, huge, fresh salads, great price! Cons: the wait for a table more

Our Place 5/15/2003

The sign read ""We only serve nice people"" and my girlfriend looked at me like I was going home hungry as I scanned her person for the bulge of her infamous break-up gift. I still don't know if it was the wine, her eyes, the cheese plate, her smile, the delicious crepe, her laugh or the gespacho. Maybe it was our own little piece of the bar with our legs intertwined as we ate. Whatever it was, my girlfriend and I walked into Ti Couz out of sync and left in step. After dinner she suggested it be our place. Parking...well... you get to hold hands with your lady for a while and the witty Street Sheet salesman will gladly escort you to to your car with a $1.80 donation. Pros: Fun, Great Food more

best Breton-style crepes in SF 3/8/2003

Definitely try the salmon and carmelized onion savory crepe. Chock full of flavor and filling. For a dessert crepe, as an alternative to the traditional suzette or nutelle/banana combo, I recommend the pear crepe for something lighter. The service is efficient, perhaps sometimes too efficient. They often clear your plates even when you have one or two morsels left. more

EXCELLENT CREPES 1/27/2003

I absolutely love their savory crepes - clean, simple yet amazingly flavorful. . I'd say they are far better than Crepevine or any other restaurants that serve crepes. A long wait is inevitably but definitely worth it. I drive 1 hour to have my crepes there. Also, their cider is quite delightful. more

Cool Creperie & More 1/3/2003

An affable staff and a broad selection of crepes made this one of the most comfortably enjoyable dinners I've had in the Mission. The decor is unpretentious, with soft lighting and a warm feel. Outdoor seating is quicker sometimes, offering a sidewalk cafe feel. The only place I've had better crepes was in the seventh arrodisement in Paris. Pros: casual, cozy, good value Cons: sometimes crowded more
