Registered for an appointment on-line as advertised on their website to save $15 on service call. Unfortunately I did not receive a response the next morning, even though I received an email confirming my appointment request. So I contacted them by phone. After that, everything went extremely well. Service call was arranged for the same day and I requested that the service man contact me 30 minutes prior to the call which was done. The repair was done efficiently with additional suggestions on how to avoid future problems. I arranged a second appointment to have a sales person review the situation for possible replacement. That appointment was established on the day and time I requested. more

John Meade, a very professional master plumber, came out to my home and cleared a clog in my main sewer line. It was a difficult clog and he worked until he was satisfied it was clear. John then called an associate, also a master plumber, who did a video inspection to reveal why I had this problem. John's associate, Jim Mort, then explained why the clog occurred, and proposed three options to prevent the problem from recurring. The proposals ranged from a cleaning and herbicide treatment for about $1000 to a guaranteed permanent repair costing $4000. My total charge for the cleaning service and the video inspection was $99 about 1/3 what a competitor quoted to just clear the clog. My $99 bought a prompt solution to my drain problem and the quotation for cleaning and repair services were presented without any pressure, to inform me how I might prevent a much larger more costly repair if the situation is neglected. I called two other businesses before settling on Thorton & Grooms. The dispatch person, Dean, was every bit as professional as the service people he sent. This is a wonderful honest company you can trust if you have a plumbing emergency. more

Ted came out inspected furnance and humidifier. Humidifier was not working properly, he changed filter for us and got humidifier back in service. Very courteous and knowledgeable. I have used Thorton and Grooms for plumbing before as well. I would highly recommend. more

John Meade delivered an early Christmas present. The temperature mixer on the master bath shower had frozen and provided only lukewarm water. John came on a Friday to diagnose the problem, ordered the part and came back to install it on a Tuesday. There was a chance that this wouldn't solve the problem, but John worked very carefully to unfreeze the mechanism and put in the new part. It worked! If it hadn't, it would have been a very expensive and difficult project, but John was determined to get it right the first time. His pleasant manner, neatness, and timeliness certainly gave me an early Christmas present. He was right when he said he should keep a supply of red bows in his truck for this kind of job. With 11 people coming to stay for Thanksgiving, my 30+ year old water heater died. Keith arrived within 30 minutes of my call to Thornton and Grooms. He was very professional, answering questions before, during and after installation. Everything is working well and my guests will enjoy hot water! more

Mark W. was very professional and courteous in his visit today. I especially appreciate that he saw an existing problem with my 'not up to code' dryer vent. Heard Thornton & Grooms was good. But hesitated because also heard they were expensive. It did not help that they would not tell me info about the equipment (models, prices, etc) or job prices outside of the service call over the phone; service call applies even if no work was performed. HOWEVER, they were the only plumbers that had late hours (until 8pm) and do not charge extra/overtime for it; that and the by-the-job pricing convinced me to take a chance and schedule them. I was pleasantly surprised. Ethan Cowen and his assistant were quick, skillful, informative and courteous. The equipment & equipment pricing offered ranged from good to excellent. I will use them again and would recommend them to others. more

I had a great experience with Thornton and Grooms. My technichian was excellent on my furnace tune up. He was knowledgable and very helpful. I will have him come back to fix my furnace any time. I had a wonderful experience. Ted Peterson was great and I would recommend him to everyone. more
