I'm impressed! 1/30/2011

For 2 weeks I'd been having discomfort from an over extended muscle in my upper back. One morning last week I realized it was just getting worse so I called the Wellness Center in hopes of getting in for a massage that day. I did and was treated by the gentle and very professional hands of Daniel Burns. I greatly appreciated the time he took to explain what my problem seemed to be and various things I need to do to alliviate future issues. I have had relaxing massages at various spas but here I felt that Daniel was well trained to deal with my specific problem and kept his focus on that. I am returning this week for a full hour massage. more

Friendly Atmosphere/Great Services 12/22/2010

I have wanted to experience a float tank (sensory deprivation tank) for a long time with the intention of enhancing my meditation practice and recently found The Wellness Center which offers floats at a very reasonable price (especially if you buy a package). The first time I tried it, I knew I was hooked! I have subsequently booked several sessions and, while each one is different, many of them have helped me to experience much deeper levels of meditation while in the tank and this has translated to a richer meditation practice in my home. I also have had a one hour massage there and the therapist was awesome! I have struggled with chronic sciatica for a few years and spoke with my therapist about this prior to beginning. She was very careful to work that area very gently but also very thoroughly and I left feeling a great sense of relief from the pain. The staff are all very courteous and kind and remembered my name after just the first visit, which I feel is a great way to make the client feel welcomed and cared for! Many people don't realize the power of using a person's name while speaking to them, especially in the early stages of relationships, so my hat is off to the staff at the Wellness Center and to the leadership as well; it is obvious when speaking with the owner that the attitude originates with her. I have high recommendations for The Wellness Center! For anyone looking for a relaxing and friendly atmosphere with tremendous services and excellent staff, this is the place to go! more

Great Massage 12/18/2010

Had purchased a groupon for an hour massage. The therapist was very knowledgeable and her technique eased my aches and pains and left me feeling relaxed. I have visited many places for massage and I think I found my favorite place to go. more

helped with cronic neck pain! 11/26/2010

I went in with cronic neck pain and was surprised and sooo relieved to have an amazing experience! First- the sat morning stretching class was perfect for those who have pain or just need a gentle yoga. Second, I had a massage with Daniel that was one of the best I have had. He was able to identify my pain points and had so much knowledge about my situation.. great staff- - highly suggest you try both services! more

Great massage! 10/23/2010

Last week I ""deeply"" enjoyed my first visit to the Wellness Center with a deep tissue massage by Marjie. I told her my left shoulder was in such pain that I wasn't even comfortable lying on my back. She spent nearly the entire hour working on that shoulder and the surrounding area. It has felt loose and comfortable ever since. I am looking forward to returning in a couple of weeks to have Marjie work on some other areas with chronic soreness. I appreciated the fact that Marjie worked on the area of my body as requested. I have had massages at other salons where the therapist worked on all areas rather than the one requested. more

Fabulous 9/2/2010

I'm 52 years-old, and have two young children (and two adult children). Last week, between a brief vacation and the MN State Fair during which I carried our 2-1/2 year-old on my shoulders. Of course, every time I made a choice with physical ramifications, it felt ""fine""; until the morning I awakened in a body that couldn't bend or lift. I called, booked a time, and received a healing, deep-tissue massage from Kimberly. I can now, again, stretch and touch my toes and can lift at about 70% capacity. I am going in for another deep-tissue massage, and am considering the stretching class offered at The Wellness Center. more

Helpful and Relaxing, Simply Fantastic!! 8/18/2010

The Wellness Center is amazing. I had a massage there about 3 weeks ago and am going back for another next weekend. Very excited. The massage I received was both helpful in relieving tight muscles as well as relaxing, which was all per request. The people at the Wellness Center are there to meet your needs, from the friendly staff when you first enter to your therapist's massage. I have had massages every month for the last 3 years and this is the first one that helped my back, yet put me to sleep at the end. more

One of the most effective massages I have ever received. 8/15/2010

I have been getting massages for years. I have also managed spas in the Twin Cities and in the New York City area and can honestly say that this was one of the most effective massages i have ever received. The therapist listened to my concerns and was able to address EXACTLY what I needed. There was no idle time, nor time spent working on areas that were feeling fine. The benefits were appreciated for weeks after my appointment. Thank you for that. more

Neck pain and soreness gone! 7/19/2010

I have had massages at a variety of places, but this was by far the best. I suffer pain and stiffness in my neck on a regular basis and it was completely gone after my first massage with Sarah. I recommend the Wellness Center to everyone. The staff was extremely welcoming and accommodating to my scheduling needs as well. Also, you are not uncomfortably pressured to come back or buy a package, etc as you are at other massage centers. more

Amazing care and wonderful service 6/9/2010

I have gone to the Wellness Center for the floatation tank and loved the experience! The staff was very helpful and let me go at my own pace. I left there feeling calm, centered and rejuvinated!\r \r Then I called back to make another appointment and the staff went out of their way to make sure I was getting the care I needed for my recently strained back. They were able to get me in with my limited availablity schedule and pair me up with a massage and then a floation tank session! \r \r I am more than impressed with this place! Pros: Flexible with scheduling, very helpful staff, talented staff Cons: Harder to reach location with 62/35 construction more

Consistent Quality 6/3/2010

Massage therapists are easy to find but a good one is even more difficult. I've been to the Wellness Center a few times over the past years and I'm consistently happy with the services I particularly like Sarah who treated me after my recent spinal fusion. She was careful when I requested her to be around my incisions but worked out the tensions I had in my muscles in other regions. Pros: Consistent care more

The name says it all! 3/20/2010

The Wellness Center is exactly that: a place to go to better yourself by getting well. My tendency is to wait until I am a physical and emotional wreck before I do something about it. Over the past few years, when I would hit those points in my being, I'd make an appointment (always last minute) with The Wellness Center and would be accommodated and welcomed without being reprimanded. This is very important to me because I am a grown woman and yes, I do know better. Here's an example of my most recent experience at the Wellness Center: Three weeks ago, I called the good people at TWC out of desperation again, which turned out to be a blessing for me. They scheduled me with Daniel Burnes for my first-ever Rolfing session! He is gifted, patient, shares a wealth of his knowledge during the session, and genuinely is committed to the goal of helping you to become well! He is healing my old injuries - ones that I'd almost given up on. I have made more progress in three sessions with Daniel than I have in four years of visits to my MD, Chiropractor, and the YWCA, combined. I look forward to my next Rolfing session with Daniel because there is noticeable progress after each visit: progress that doesn't fade away. The Wellness Center is an asset to our community. Pros: Genuine, knowledgeable, staff-gifted Rolfer, Daniel Burnes more

Finally getting some pain relief! 2/15/2010

I can honestly say that they knew that I have myofascial pain and knew exactly what I needed to help me get out of chronic pain and I am so thankful!!! They are doing trigger point therapy on me and it's working.....woo...hooo!!!\r \r I have been in pain for almost 3 years and been to 5 different doctors and 3 different physical therapists and none of them ever told me how to help myself. Pros: They knew what my problem was more

I can't wait to go back! 2/10/2010

I've had many massages in the past couple of years from different therapists at various spas and health centers, but the massage I had at the Wellness Center far exceeded any service I have received. I had been wanting a massage for several weeks when I finally decided to make an appointment at the Wellness Center. I had never been there before, but it is in my neighborhood and I like to support local businesses, so I thought I'd give it a try. The staff is helpful and pleasant and Karen, my massage therapist, was fantastic. All I really wanted from the appointment was relaxing massage and she gave me that in spades! I left the Wellness Center feeling both relaxed and revived. I can't wait to go back and I won't hesitate to wait so long to make an appointment. I now have a local place to support, be proud of, and most importantly, get a great massage! Pros: Friendly, Local, Talented more

great relaxation massage 1/24/2010

After my mom's death, it seemed like everything hurt on me--neck, back, shoulder. Sara gave me an hour massage that left me relaxed and pain free. She was exceptionally understanding of my emotional state, and helped me through it. Pros: honest and straightforward more

The best massage I've ever had! 1/19/2010

The Wellness Center is the best place I've ever been to for a massage. After receiving massages from many many people in my life, I've found a place that I will go to again and again.\r \r The atmosphere is simple and inviting - not arrogant at all. The price is affordable. The staff is friendly and inviting.\r \r When receiving my massage, I was so pleased that the massage therapist listened to my needs and spent the time on my areas of concern. Though previous massage therapists had done this for me, I'd never experienced it so effectively before. \r \r One really great aspect of the massage was that they started the time for the hour massage when the massage actually started, instead of starting the hour when I walked into the room and had the consultation. This was great!\r \r The massage therapist was so friendly and talented. I have never enjoyed a massage so much! When she told me that I should come back in a month or so due to some issues on my back, I didn't even hesitate to agree! Usually I'd say ""ok"" and then never even think about it. This time, I'm going back!\r \r I HIGHLY recommend the Wellness Center. FANTASTIC! Pros: friendly, talented, affordable more

A neighborhood gem! 11/27/2009

I found the Wellness Center through a recent national spa promotion. I had no idea this gem was so close to me and will be back many times. Location, variety of services offered, great pricing and exceptional customer service (both at front desk and during treatment) makes this a rare find. Pros: Location, customer service, variety of services more

Just what I needed 11/2/2009

I went to the Wellness Center after some emotional turmoil and before starting a new job. I was referred by a good friend who put me in her 'friends and family network.' With that, I was able to get a reduced fee for my massage service, which really made me happy.\r \r But, the best part was the service itself. My therapist started by talking to me about what brought me to the Wellness Center and what type of relief I needed. After getting an understanding of what I was feeling at the time, the therapist tailored his session to meet those needs. The therapist told me step by step what areas he would work on and why. \r \r He was professional, yet kind and friendly. Afterward, I felt relaxed and peaceful. He took the extra step of offering some tips to calm stress and anxiety. It was very helpful and just what I needed. Pros: Therapists really tailor your service to your specific needs Cons: None! more

What an Experience 10/27/2009

I have never been to a place with so much selection and such a caring heart. I very much enjoyed the service and the different way that things were looked towards my care. The float tank is something I can not explain and I wish everyone knew how good it felt to relax at a state most of us never reach.\r \r Thank you to the wellness team!!!!!!!!! Pros: It changed my day and my illness. Cons: Only thing- I got lost more
