Best

The Rosebud Cafe on Taylor Street has the Best Fettuccine Alfrado in Chicago. A creamy pasta dish that makes me smile with every bite.

Worst

Dining outside was nothing short of waiting for a drive-by shooting. Although the hosts and server were very kind and welcoming to us, we noticed ...

SIMPLY THE BEST..... 6/23/2002

What more can you ask for besides fantastic food, great atmosphere, fun, attentive knowledgeable waitstaff and a moderate bill?? Nothing....so go to Rosebud. more

The best around!! 6/5/2002

Everyone knows Rosebud and their high priority for their guests, but what most may not know is that the company was founded by one man and his dream to make people happy. Most may think something fell into his lap, but guts and sweat is what has made all of the Rosebud restaurants what they are today. So for everyone out there who thinks this is just another coporation, it is not. It is the hard work from the one and only person who owns the company with the hard work from all of his employees. Other restaurants may try to be Rosebud, but I know none of the others that have been around for 26 yrs. more

True Chicago/Italian experience 5/16/2002

As you enter, there is usually a long table made up of a group of locals from the neighborhood (Little Italy). The waiters are experienced and attentive. I find their baked clams and veal parmigiana to be the best in town. And, with regards to the veal, the biggest serving. Pros: great service, the best food Cons: little pricey more

Owner Message
  • Old world elegance is reflected in the stylish decor of legendary restaurant, The Rosebud. Celebrities, tourists and locals alike flock to Taylor Street for a taste of Rosebud's signature Italian dishes. Huge portions of scrumptious selections include sausage and peppers, perfect chicken vesuvio, square noodles, and baked clams. An exceptional selection of wine helps to round out an outstanding meal. Rosebud on Taylor delivers both food and hospitality in generous portions!

Editorial
  • After nearly 30 years, it's still good, hearty and garlicky. The original in the chain of local Italian eateries, The Rosebud goes for a cozy living-room feel with a dining room with faux-wood-paneled walls, low ceilings and library shelves. An oversize portrait of Ol' Blue Eyes, wine glass in hand, complements the feel of Old World Italian hospitality. The menu boasts range of Italian specialties (caprese salad, fettuccine Alfredo, linguine with clams) and Rosebud signatures (homemade cavatelli, chicken Vesuvio). Homemade noodles make all the difference in meaty, baked lasagna, and pasta portions are big enough to feed the whole family. End with a delicious, liquored-up tiramisu.
