Best

This is my favorite bar in Chicago. I love it - check out Tuesdays - incredible piano player every week. Martinis here are not cheap, but you get what you pay for so I like it. ...

We went to Red Head Saturday May 30, 2010 for our anniversary with another couple. We got great seats at the bar facing the piano without having to pay off the staff. Dave Jo...

Dead Head Piano Bar 7/14/2006

As we walked in, one customer asked me if I knew of anyplace with a juke box and some fresh air.....that was the first impression I got of this overly stuffy "bar". The second was when the person seating us put us in the back of the bar facing a wall.....with nothing but the wall to look at, the third was when we got up, located two seats at the piano and the fat classless waitress with the huge breasts, a sour disposition and a classless approach, for a minute I thought I was at a truck stop, asked to see the form of payment we were to use before we would be served. It was then I said to my date, time to leave. I complained to the hotel about the place, and was told, that was the thrid time in the day that someone complained......DO NOT WASTE your time on this stuffy place. more

Fun 5/16/2006

This is a great place to go on the weekend, but you better be prepared to be packed in with all other people who also think that it is a great weekend place. There is a dress code, but it brings a quality to the jazz bands that you can catch there. The atmosphere is serene, and the people who work here make you feel at home. more

Sing us a song, you're the piano man... 3/15/2006

I am a huge fan of Billy Joel, and piano music in general. So of course I enjoy frequenting the Redhead Piano Bar. A few things to know ahead of time: There is a dress code. I'd stay away from jeans, gym shoes, and be prepared to be asked to tuck in your shirt. For girls there's a little more leeway, but not much. It gets VERY very crowded. You're extremely lucky to find a spot at the bar or near the piano, but it's not completely impossible. There are also reserved tables in the back that you can ask to be seated at. The performers take requests, but for a price. I wouldn't think about putting down less than $10 for a single song, maybe even more. If you're told "I don't think I know that one..." you're not paying enough. Other than that you should be good to go. It draws a somewhat older crowd - business travelers on up, but anyone who enjoys piano music should fit right in. It's really a pretty classy place, and the live music goes till pretty late so it's also a good after hours spot. more

romantic place to go with your sweetie. 1/14/2006

very quant little place. room is lite by candlelight, and creates a nice atmosphere. they have jazz & blues bands every weekend and they are very good and entertaining. they do have a dress requirement, no jeans, no gym shoes, and jacket is required for the men. parking can be a problem,so you might want to grab a cab to go there, or pay for payed parking in the lots located near there. more
