Overrated. Inconsistent. Poor service 9/5/2007

I have been using Mission Maid for over 2 months. At first it was great partly due to the fact that they were able to clean efficiently with 3 people at the same time. But then over time, they started to slack and I found many times they glaze over many corners and just do the surface job. I had to point out every little details (having a big house there are many corners) like the tile walls of the bathrooms and behind chairs, etc. They even ignored a smelly exloded beer cans mess (due to heat) in the kitchen cabinet after weeks of built up until I finally had to clean it up with my husband when we found out what the smell was coming from. Then what triggered me to fire them is when they broke my heirloom antique glass (without telling me, and I had to go ask what happend b/c I heard the noise) and they proceeded to take the broken glass home (without telling me) to show their boss that it wasn't worth as much as I said it's worth. So now I am asked to dig up some receipt to prove the worth of my irreplaceable 18th century antique before the manager is willing to file for insurance claim. I am fed up and very disappointed. more

We like Mission Maids ALOT! 9/5/2007

from the informative gentleman that answers the phone, to the ontime, helpful and hardworking maids, Mission Maids is an impressive cleaning co. Their estimate was spot on. We have used other companies that charge more per hour, can't or won't guarantee the same english speaking maids and have higher min charges. Other compnaies make you clean the whole house each trip. I like the fact that Mission Maids is flexible and we can pick and choose the areas we want cleaned. Now they are open 7 days a week which is nice because we work during the week and it gives us more flexibility. We have signed up for regular service every month. Pros: Flexilbe service, will work on Sundays. Lower prices than their competitors Cons: None yet more

i had used we clean america (NOT RECOMMENDED!) - mostly b/c i don't need a cleaning service that often. not only did mission maids show up early, my house was spotless and it really needed a good, thorough overhaul. highly recommended. Pros: trustworthy (screened), legit co, all questions answered on phone first. more

Terrible service... 8/24/2007

THE WORST SERVICE I HAVE EVER used! I came home from a business trip and found that 3 maids did not do a thorough cleaning or did not even clean my at all i asked for my drawers to be organized and it took 3 to do this job, I travel quite often and did not have the time to call and when I did I was not treated with friendly customer service. Im very unhappy and will not use this service ever. more

We are seniors and it is getting harder and harder to clean our home. So we have to use outside companies from time to time. We like the fact that Mission Maids has a low mininum charge and they allow us to pick and choose the rooms we want cleaned. Other companies make you do a deep cleaning or have a 2 hour min which is way too expensive for us. The maids are always friendly, helpful, speak english which is nice and professional. Pros: Flexible, low min charge, usually available the next day more

Not worth the money 8/3/2007

I requested service and they came out two days later. 3 people for a one bedroom condo. I was quited for two people, and @150.00 (which is still too much to have someone clean a condo. The time estimated was 2.5 hrs. I left them with $200 and they were gone in less than 2 hours. I did not get any change back. Only 1 spoke English and he had an attitude because the estimate was $217 and I told him I only had $200 and was running late for work (was told they would arrive at 8, they arrived at 8:50). more

Bad experience - an $$$$ nightmare 8/2/2007

I was extremely disappointed with my service from Mission Maids. The team arrived late. We had agreed on a team of 2 and suddenly 3 people showed up at my house and I had to pay for the service I didn't request. They promised to bring their own equipment and on a couple occasions used my own cleaning supplies. I had to follow them around the apartment and continuously point out areas they had skipped. The team barely spoke any English. It was a nightmare...and not a cheap one! Pros: Didn't steal anything Cons: Late, ill-prepared, expensive, misrepresented service, won't return calls more

our neighbor recommended misson maids to us. they have used for several years. we had used severla other services that were quite unreliable. one stole a vase. anyway mission maids has been very reliable, friendly and I like the fact I can get the same team each time.....somebody we can trust. the work is thorough, they are expensive in my mind, but worth it. Great for party cleanup, same day service 7/9/2007

We had a hugh 4th of July party and our house was a disaster. My husband called early on July 5th and they were able to get a team over to our house with in 2 hours. The maids did a thorough job, quite frankly it was a little overwhelming. We contacted three other companies, Mission Maids were the only ones willinging to come out the same day, plus they were less as well. Pros: Same day service, Good for party clean up more

We have used Mission Maids for almost 4 years. The same girls always show up at the same time each week ready to clean our home. They are very careful, however they clean at a brisk pace. The cleanings are always thorough, however if we need extra things like our fridge cleaned out, they are more than accomodating. Unlike other services we had used, Mission Maids seems to have zero turnover in their staff, we have had the same girls each week. I asked the maids once why they have stayed so long with the company, apparently they have worked there for 9 years and they said they are paid well and management is fair to them and treats them well. We need a onetime move in clean. Mission Maids were competitively priced among the larger companies and they were able to come out early on a Monday morning at 6:30am. The movers were arriving at 11am. They cleaned inside all the cabinets, fridge and all the other applainces. We have a stainless steel kitchen and they were very careful cleaning all the various surfaces. We were very satisifed. Pros: through, fair pricing more

We have used Mission Maids five times. Even though we do not use them on a regular basis we are able to request the same team each time. We shopped other companies like Molly Maids, Amaidzing and Merry Maids. Mission Maids was the least expensive. We had used other companies that were cheaper like So Cal Maids and We Clean America. Neither of these services were reliable or could send out the team beacuse they seem to have so much turnover in their staffs. They are the best value in Los Angeles. Pros: Ontime, can request the same team Cons: not as cheap as So Cal maids or We Clean America more

Terrible customer service; horrible management 6/10/2007

I have been trying to get this review posted for several months now and it keeps disappearing. I will continue trying until it remains posted. Were able to accomodate us at the last minute for the holiday weekend 5/29/2007

Our original service flaked on us and totally left us hanging. No call, no show. We were moving over the holiday weekend and we had a final home inspection for the sale of our house. So getting it cleaned was critical. Mission Maids were able to squeeze us in on Sat and they did a wonderful job. I am not sure the house has ever looked so good! Bad 5/28/2007

This experience was bad on many levels. I spoke to them on the phone and they suggested that I only needed two maids for the size of my place and I agreed. They gave me an estimate of the cost, which was expensive, but I thought I would give it a shot. Well, three maids show up, which surprised me, but I hoped they might just get the job done faster so the cost would stay the same. Somehow the three people who showed up took longer than a two person team from a different company took weeks earlier and that two person team did a better job. One maid was on her phone much of the time, while another just seemed to supervise, while the third actually seemed to be very dilligent. In the end, the job cost more than $200, which was well above the $147 estimate. The team they sent did a very average job cleaning, scratched my hardwood floors by dragging my couch for no apparent reason, and took forever to do this average job. I would avoid Mission Maids. Pros: Showed up on time Cons: Everything from that point on. more
