My red mazda got rear-ended recently and my in-laws recommended this shop. The people are fun and conversational. They are honest about the repairs and committed to saving you money. The repairs were completed within two days. They treated me like a princess! This is the only place I will take my car for future repairs. more

Good place to shop for a used car, especially Camrys or Civics, at a good price. I've purchased 2 vehicles from Jim and have had repair or maintenance done by his crew, and I have always gone home with good results at a fair price. They are constantly busy getting vehicles ready for customers, and sometimes parking is a pain, but Jim will always make an effort to earn and keep your business. more

The worst experience ever with a used car dealer. Paid cash for my vehicle and had to wait 3 months to get it out of the shop. Jim did virtually nothing to expedite the process. He asked me repeatedly to loan him money! The transmission failed on the drive home and the A/C 2 days later all due to shoddy work by his mechanics. The Anti-lock brake system was wired incorrectly by his mechanics. He talks a good game, but once he has your money, you are his last priority. BEWARE! more

I called a day ago to get an estimate for replacement of the radiator in my 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The quote was much less than I expected as quoted by the dealer & Firestone... I made an appointment for the following afternoon. I was quoted 2 hours for the work.\r The job was much more entailed than Jim had expected, taking almost 6 hours, requiring the technician to stay late. The extra time was no big deal to me. When I went to pay, Jim said even thought the job did take longer than quoted, he would stick by his estimate. Thank you for the quality job and the honesty to stand by your quote. Bought a lovely low mileage 2001 Honda civic last december and have been very satisfied with the car and warranty actions on the 2 minor problems that have shown up in the first 10 months and 12000 miles.\r So much that I took my toyota Sienna in\r for body repair with the best price I could find and very good work. We've purchased two early model Honda's from Auto Depot and I highly recommend Jim if you're in the market for a used vehicle. First one was stolen because it was in such great shape, second one had several issues all of which were taken care of, at no cost to us (but much cost to him). I know he lost money on us but he stood behind his warranty and fixed everything. If we didn't live so far away, he would definately be our mechanic. more

The service was honest and they diaganosed my car for free dealer wanter 100 and they fixed the problem for twenty when the dealer wanted 350 i am so happy to find a honest place to take my car you may have to wait a little but no longer than any other place haooy i found this place i reconmend this place to anyone Pros: very good honest service for less money more

Finally, A place where I can buy a reasonably priced used car, with a low payment, no interest on an amount of under $2000.00, will be paid off within 12 months of purchase and they even threw in a 12 month warranty. And If all of that isn't great enough throw in the fact that at the time I was ready to purchase they didn't have anything that fit my criteria well that fit into my price range. I just wanted a 4 cylinder, manual transmission car that was great on gas. They went, they found it and even gave me another car to drive until it was ready. If you choose Auto Depot be ready to be treated as an individual not a number. They do truly go above and beyond to help all of their customers. I did have to wait a little bit while they were getting my car ready but it was more than worth it and for any of the minor things I have needed since the purchase they have done them on site...but I do call ahead. I purchased a CRV there about six weeks ago. It was a little short of amazing how they were able to restore a wreck into near showroom condition. Needless to say, I am well pleased with my purchase. Jim made it all work with good value for my trade-in, excellent price for the CRV plus a one year warantee. I strongly recommend the Depot if you are in the market for a used car. Just tell Jim what you're looking for and he'll find it and restore it for you. It may take awhile but the wait will be well worth it!! I went back to The Auto Depot with an oil leak three months after purchase. Jim solved the problem, changed the oil and filter and had me out the door within an hour and a half! These people treated me like family, and I don't even know them. A couple of months ago, I took my car in for a problem with stiff steering. They checked it in no time without charge and fixed it (needed something minor) without charge also. AAMCO had given me an estimate for the same job for $350.00 after checking my car saying I needed a new power steerimg pump. Auto Depot fixed the problem so quickly and without paying a penny. \r Today I took in my Honda Civic for a problem with the air-conditioning system which stopped working after an accident I had. They checked it immediately even though the place was packed with cars waiting for service. They found out that a fan in the front of the car wasn't working because it was touching the metal frame that had been warped during the accident. Again, they didn't charge me anything for checking it and also added free powering steering fluid because they had noticed that it was a bit hard to turn the steering wheel. I was out of there in no time! That's what I call incredible service and honesty. They treat customers so respectfully, and they have so much expertise. Do not be fooled by smooth talking Jim the owner. When I brought my car in for an estimate for body work, I was suprised that the bid was several hundred dollars cheaper than other bids I recieved in the Austin area. Jim also claimed the work would be done in less time, 4 days is what he quoted. None of this turned out to be true. It has been a complete nightmare dealing with Auto Depot and I wouldn't wish this experience on my worst enemy! Everyday I would call and some mysterious part hadn't been ordered yet. The front panel of my car had to be replaced and by mistake the pinstripe put on it was an awful gold color, while the rest of the pinstripping on my car was a nice tan color that matched my interior. Jim solved this problem by pinstripping my entire car with the awful gold color! Two weeks after I got my car back if ended up stalling on me,when I looked under the hood I realized that my new expensive battery had been switched for a generic one. So here I sit 3 months later, waiting for Jim to rectify my horrible situation with Auto Depot. Pros: ZERO Cons: Liars and thiefs! more

I took my car to Firestone and they said they had to replace the whole unit in order to do the repair. All i needed was a high side pressure cable changed. Took it to Auto Depot and they were able to fix my car for a quarter of the price quoted by Firestone. Now I wont have to go through another summer of Texas heat with no AC. My girlfriend bought a car from The Auto Depot that looked like a great deal. My car got stolen so I went to see Jim. He made me a great deal on a '01 Honda Civic. It took a while because the dealer kept sending parts that were defective or wrong. Jim spent a lot of time on my car and I felt sorry for him but he came though with flying colors. He even loaned me a car to get around. When all was done I think he really went out of his way. This is a great place to buy a cheap used car and Jim will make sure it is dependable. Great place to buy a teenager their first car. He even deliverd my car full of gas. Pros: More than what I expected Cons: Slow, but precise and attention to detail more

I talked with Jim, the owner and Derek, the sales dude several times this spring--I noticed the six awards from the Austin Chronicle. Hmm! No high pressure job either; they really wanted me to find the best car/price for me.They figure someone got treated well would come back.What a fresh idea! So I finally got the deal I wanted--the guys called me and said they had a 1998 Lexus coupe and a price even an OR nurse could handle and I ran over. It was absolutely gorgeous. Everything worked great and it was beautiful. The price was way lower I thought it would be. What a deal, with fine people! Get there for the deals from the good folks. You will be happily surprised. And the new asphalt parking lot is fine. Thanks, Jim and the gang--I'll be coming back for cars and repairs for you from now on. I bought a decent little Civic for a pretty good price. I've had it for a few months now and it seems fine. I do need the converter worked on but Jim is gonna foot the bill since its under warranty.
