Took my girlfriend for her birthday last Friday night along with two other couples, and was extremely surprised by how great the food was. We had been going to the apartment for ...

First bad food experience in Seattle...People and place were nice. The music and atmosphere were cool but NOT for the new year. Cocktails were also disappointing...tried at least ...

The Food Will Surprise You! 9/5/2005

This is a great little, new hotspot in Belltown, right next door to Bada Lounge. It is a good place for drinks and people watching, though it is teeny. The food is not an afterthought as it is at most Belltown watering holes. A recent Alaskan King Salmon dinner was HUGE and cooked to perfection, moist and flavorful, with Heirloom tomatoes. About half the price as a place like Waterfront Seafood Grill and about twice the portion size. Other dishes that were notable was the chicken with crispy skin and pan seared scallops. A great addition to the Belltown dining scene. Pros: Great Food, people watching Cons: no parking, teeny more

Yes, Flipper is parked in a bowl on your table... 7/27/2005

Yes, there are fish on the tables, but they seem to be enjoying themselves, as do, the lounges patrons. I've visited this hot spot several times, dined and, on occasion, sipped a well-made martini or two. The staff has always been friendly and I can say the same about other customers. Seating is limited and the bar tends to get crowded on the weekends, but the food is delicious and the cocktails inventive. Its nice to find a place where you dont have to spend a wad to get good service, tasty food, and a stiff drink. Pros: Food, Cocktails, People Cons: Belltown Parking, A wee bit small more

Small Space - Awesome Food! 7/25/2005

this place gets packed on the weekends -typical S&M bar scene (stand and model) hot girls and guys and those who wish they were - the staff was quick & friendly and we even met the chef - brendan makes a mean miso butterfish and the bourbon chicken was just fantastic! the bartender (blonde gal) was quick to suggest some killer drinks while we waited on our table - i'll be back! Pros: awesome food, stiff drinks, good crowd Cons: a little small, music too loud, kinda expensive more

Feel like your on vacation! 7/5/2005

I am from the Los Angeles area and have been quite homesick for a cool hip place to hang out. But alas, no more.... I have found it! The Apartment Bistro is tastefully decorated with its creamy off white leather couches and bar stools. The stark black tabletops and bar have inlaid soft lights inside of them. The bartenders to be very friendly and helpful, they make regulars feel right at home! I reccomemd the infused vodka martinis as well as the champagne cocktails for drinks! For dinner try the wild mushroom plate or duck salad for starters, and for dinner the miso butterfish or the steak. The selection of music is awesome, every time I am there I ask the bartenders what cd is playing. This place gets really busy on the weekends so I reccomend if you want a mellow time there to go monday-thursday. Pros: great food, great drinks, sexy crowd Cons: crowded more

More tattoos than manners... 5/27/2005

A few co-workers from our office went to this bar after work on a very hot day (first hot day of the year 90 degrees!) and it took half an hour to get our drinks. The water, which we all desperately needed came well after. Very poor service, very poor manners from wait staff, hence, bad review. Pros: infused vodka Cons: very slow service more

the fish have to go. 1/31/2005

i went to the apartment a week after christmas & they had beta fish in little glass canisters on each table. there is also a candle behind the canisters which makes the water heat up and contrary to popular belief - betas can survive in small places but it doesn't mean they like it. since the apartment is a small place too, i felt like i was the beta. secondly, drunk people and fish in the open do not work well. be careful, PETA will be on your case. at first, people liked this new belltown place & i will say the Spatini is good. but i hear the same things about the apartment over & over "it coulda been a contender." here's some advice to the owners - you can't snow seattle - if you want to be viewed as high quality you have to be high quality. Pros: spatini Cons: , clueless wait staff, wannabe more

Typical 1/6/2005

When I first went to the apartment I was impressed with the quality of the food and drinks. However this bar strives to have a class high atmophoshere noted by their high prices and plain decor. But a little lesson to the owners, IKEA brand dishware and old movies playing in the background does not equal class. The typical Belltown attitude fills the small cramped bar and left a bitter taste in my mouth. I wont be returning to this typical bar. Cons: , boring, small more

COOL SPOT GREAT FOOD! 11/18/2004

Went to the apartment for dinner last night and what can I say. The steak was amazing and my friends had the giant prawns which I tried and have to say were equally so. The restaurant is small and cozy, but extrememly sexy. It does have some of the Belltown "scene", but we looked around and saw an array of people both young and old eating. I had their cantaloupe martini which was delicious as well. Service was fine. Highly recommended for not being a "Seattleish" place. Pros: decor, FOOD, infused vodka more

It's exactly like all the others!! 11/17/2004

If you enjoy seeing the same people over and over again, then this is the perfect place! It looks like the owners tried but obviously didnt make it happen! It is the kind of place where you have to go once just to see the "ok looking people" try to look like the "pretty people!" Its a great place to have a laugh at all the drunken Belltown wanna-be hollywoods! Other than the Cheesy, greasy feeling of the crowd. The food is amazing and the drinks are delectable! I liked the menu for its small but very enticing selections! Hats off to the Chef! I would come back to the Apartment Bistro only if it was in the earlier evening! Pros: Food, Drinks Cons: , Loud more

I can only say why? 11/16/2004

I went to the Apartment with some friends in the early evening. As soon as we got to the door I knew we did not want to stay. The atmosphere was entirely wannabe, but then again that happens a lot in Belltown. Our drinks took forever to arrive, though there were no less than 15 black-clad servers lingering about, my gimlet was warm and terrible. The patrons were very Sex and the City and that's just downright retro at this point. The only saving grace was the television above the bar with the sweet face of Jack Lemmon in the movie "The Apartment"....and all I can say is why? Cons: , trendy more

LOUD 10/21/2004

Had dinner at The Apartment tonite after a MoveOn meeting to dump Bush. Reminds me of W Hotel type bistros in New York City. Menu was small, but creative. Our server recommended the halibut and it was delicious, not overdone and mushy. A generous portion, the fish was served with mashed potatoes and asparagus spears. Martini's are the drink of choice. The small space is loud! No soft goods to break the noise. Pet peeve (pun intended) was the fish in a square container on each table. This poor creature was trying to get near the votive candle on the table - perhaps for warmth or light. The owners should go for something inanimate for table decor. Worth a try... Pros: Food, Service, Ambience Cons: , Pets on Table more
