'Upscale' Vietnamese and a little surprise 7/15/2009

When I took my friend here, he said ""This is like luxury Vietnamese!"" While I wouldn't take it that far, this place's decor and and ambience is definitely more upscale than your everyday pho joint. While you may be paying a couple bucks more, you get innovative and traditional Vietnamese food in a clean, peaceful environment. Everyday dishes like pho and bun are executed very well, and they have some innovative dishes like the crawfish boil and filet mignon with XO sauce. HIghly recommended Pros: Huge menu, solid execution on standbys Cons: Service can be a bit slow sometimes more

Clean and vietnamese 9/19/2008

I just walked by and saw this place. 8 dollars is a bit too much for pho but it beats drivng to bolsa. The waitstaff was helpful and quick. I can't say that there is enough MSG to consider this authentic vietnamese food. It's just not vietnamese without the MSG..I brought some on my own in the next time, and I just couldn't stop eating the food. Pros: Clean, closer than bolsa Cons: not enough MSG more

Great Food...I like it better than their Westminster Restaurant. It's close to home and always the same great experience. Vietnamese food presented in an artful way. One of my favorite restaurants. Pros: Patio, Ambience, Great Food more

looks great, tastes ok 8/4/2007

It's the cleanest Vietnamese restaurant I've ever been too. Also the fanciest looking. Judging by the menu, the restaurant's going after some type of fusion style. But I chose not to have baked salmon in a restaurant that also serves pho. So, I ordered pho. How to tell whether pho is good? By its soup. And the soup here wasn't that good. Also, the chicken piece were cut like you do for moo goo gai pan, not like the authentic way for pho. Service is just ok. My second time there the waitress was very rude. Maybe she doesn't like the soup either. Pros: clean, no wait Cons: not authentic more

GOT MORE THAN WHAT I ASKED 10/7/2005

Looking for a place to relax and enjoy your valuable time and this is a place. Thanh restaurant where you could find a great Vietnamese food. Try the sampler eggrolls, shrimp sausage wrapped in crispy tofu, and shrimp paste skewered with sugarcane. Hungry for soup try the Pho (rice noodle soup) or banh canh (udon noodle) with shrimp and crab. This restaurant is in business for the last 17 years and I don't know if they did'nt do it right so how did they survive? They are well known in Little Saigon for their famous rice dishes. Don't like the price then get the 39cents hamburger. Pros: INEXPENSIVE, LOCATION, BEAUTIFUL Cons: CROWDED more

Never Judge a Book by it's cover 3/7/2005

Sure the restaurant looks beautiful, and the service is nice, but I can't help but escape the fact that the food is just not up to par. The food is mediocre at best, and unauthentic. Presentation is wonderful and great, but once you take a bite, it leaves little to be enthusiastic about. The soups are the worst on the menu. I've ordered the Bun Bo Hue and it was unauthentic and just not great. The pho should be served hot, not luke warm and the rice dishes are not worth their price although, it is probably the best thing on the menu. Pros: Decor, Service, spacious atmosphere Cons: food more

Ingredient Warning! 1/23/2005

Be sure you ask if there is pork blood in your entree since their menus don't indicate the presence of culturally unique ingredients in their dishes. I made this mistake and argued for minutes with the manager, who was unwilling to let me order something else. He told me that it was my mistake for ordering it (even though their menu didn't say it had pork blood), and if you wanted something else, I would have to pay for it. So much for true customer service. more
