Terry's Finer Foods Inc

Like many longtime customers, I haven't been impressed with changes made by the new owner of Terry's Finer Foods. (I now have most of my groceries delivered by Hestand's in The Heights and only stop by Terry's once a month.) However, the steaks at Terry's Restaurant rank among the best in Little Rock. (I'm so fond of them I haven't tried anything else on the dinner menu.) The restaurant has a well-trained staff and pleasant ambiance. The intimate lay-out (apparently modeled after grocery-restaurant establishments in France) doesn't lend itself to privacy, but the usual customers aren't a loud crowd. more

Poilane has been baking bread almost as long as Terry's has been serving the Heights community (the bakery started in Normandy in 1932, a few years after Mr. Terry started his store at Kavanaugh and Van Buren)! Drop in to see for yourself what makes this a truly unique bread!\r \r Poilane's Bread Pudding \r \r \r Ingredients \r 7 oz. brown sugar \r 1 pint milk \r 5 eggs \r 2.8 oz. custard cake powder \r 14.11 oz. stale sourdough of loaf or rye and raisin bread \r 1 vanilla bean \r 1 spoon rum (optional) \r \r Instructions\r Cut open the vanilla bean. Combine a third of the milk with the vanilla bean and the rum (optional). Allow the vanilla to flavour the milk for at least 2 hours. \r \r Blend together the eggs and the sugar. Add the custard cake powder and the remaining milk. \r \r Remove the vanilla bean from the vanilla-milk mixture. Combine with the egg-sugar-milk mixture. \r \r Layout the bread in the baking pan. Pour the liquid mixture over the bread and let it be absorbed by the bread for at least 2 hours. \r \r \r more

My companion & I met a group of friends at Terry""s a few weeks ago for dinner. It was our first time. The food was outstanding & equally as well was the service. We both had their mouth watering, cooked to perfection sirlion & both agreed the steak was by far one of the best we've had & trust me we have knocked back plenty (regular carnivores). The experience was topped off by our very knowledgable sommelier Jeff. The two of us ventured back to Terry's last night to have a repeat of that meal. Our votes turned out the same. more

Terry's is great. I have lived all over the country and overseas and I have to say that Terry's meat selection is as good as you get anywhere. The previous reviewer seems to be an angry person, I would guess they didnt make friends in Arkansas because of their bad attitude. Why would you bring up the states rank in education for a review of a grocery store? I moved here from Chicago and love the Heights. Terry's will bend over backwards to get you what you need. more

Christmas dinner totally sucked because I ordered leg of lamb from them 2 weeks ahead of time and they gave me a 2 year old frozen lambs leg. No apologizes, and charged me full price. People in AR GENERALLY don't understand quality, which is why the chilis and olive gardens of the little rock are packed every night. Careful of reviewers from little rock. They are probably the owner's friends. After living in AR for over 3 years, I have found there are other stores, even chains that have better quality food, and will bend over backwards for you. This is the way of the south, it's too bad Terry's doesn't embrace it. Pros: The boy who took my food to the car for me. Cons: Everything else. more
