Best

great place to party

Worst

There are too many clubs in LA to waste time at this place. Pros: None Cons: Everything

REALLY GOOD CLUB ENVIRONMENT AND GREAT B-DAY PACKAGES TO CELEBRATE YOUR B-DAY 10/12/2008

I LOVE THIS CLUB AND I FULLY RECOMMEND THIS CLUB TO ANYBODY THAT LIKE TO PARTY HARD AND HAVE A GOOD TIME. FOR ANY QUESTIONS CONTACT "PIT" THE PROMOTER HE REALLY MADE OUR NITE.THANK YOU PIT more

WARNING: Minotaurs wearing stillettos, low class crowd, this club let's everyone in. EVERYONE!!! 8/26/2008

Definitely not your VIP Hollywood club. You won't find any and hotties here & if you are into staying fit, fashion and style boy you are in for a treat! The majority of the women and men here were really over weight and unattractive ok down right ugly! Eyebrows painted on with Sharpie markers, gangster bald heads everywhere. This was your regular "Let everyone in the club in" as long as they can pay the $20.00 cover. I did not feel safe here, I felt like a piece of steak in the middle of a bunch of wolves. I couldn't even dance comfortably without some guy coming up from behind trying to rub his (male part) on me when I wasn't looking! If you still decide to be adventurous & go here don't bother getting all pretty up for this place. Wear some closed toe shoes & girls if you are Hot take some guy friends so that you can dance comfortably otherwise you may get cursed at a bunch of times for saying no thank you. Happy clubbing! Pros: DJ's can really jam! Good club if you don't mind being around a truly ghuetto crowd. Cons: Fat & Ugly people everywhere. Club let's anyone in. I saw Gangsters. Yuck more

DONT EVER EVER GET A TABLE THERE! 7/6/2008

I USE TO LOVE THIS PLACE!! I CELEBRATED MY 21ST BDAY THERE IN 2007 AND FELL IN LOVE IT WAS WONDERFUL SERVICE ATLEAST AT THE TIME! WAITRESSES VERY NICE! I WENT BACK TO CELEBRATE MY 22ND BDAY! AND OMG! IT WAS F-IN HORRIBLE! I KID YOU NOT! I HAD RESERVED CABANA BOOTHS AND WAS TOLD THAT I WOULDNT HAVE TO WAIT IN LINE WITH MY GUESTS! WELL I SHOW UP AT 9PM WITH ABOUT 10 PEOPLE! I WAS TOLD THAT PEOPLE ON MY GLIST WERE GOING TO GET IN FREE B4 10:30 THEY ONLY GAVE ME 4 TICKETS FOR 4 OF MY GUESTS AND THEY CHARGED FULL PRICE FOR THE REST OF MY GUEST! BUT WAIT WE WAITED IN LINE FOR 45MINUTES. AND THE REGULAR PEOPLE WENT RIGHT IN! NO WAIT! WE WENT TO GET SEATED TO THE CABANA BOOTHS SO FAR OK WE MET OUR WAITRESS "MINDY!" WE TOLD HER WE WHERE GOING TO HAVE 2 DIFFERENT TABS SO SHE TOOK MY CREDIT CARD AND MY FRIENDS SO SHE TOLD US THE BUCKETS OF BEERS WHERE 35 DOLLARS FOR 6 WE GOT THEM AND KEPT ORDERING IN TWO DIFFERNT TABS! SO WE THOUGHT ANOTHER FRIEND CAME AND WAS PAYING CASH FOR WHAT HE WAS ORDERING HE ORDERED BUCKETS AND SHE CHARGED HIM 45 DOLLARS! THEN SHE DIDNT BRING BACK HIS CHANGE! SHE KEPT 65 DOLLARS CHANGE! OK! THEN WE PARTIED AFTER WE WERE CLOSING THE TAB AND SHE CHARGED 500 DOLLARS IN DRINKS AND 150 DOLLARS IN GRATUITTY FEE LIKE HER F-IN SERVICE WAS GOOD! SHE WAS HARDLY THERE! MOST OF THE TIME ANOTHER WAITRESS AND EVEN OURSELVES KEPT GOING UP TO GET THE DRINKS WAT KIND OF SH*T IS THT! SHE CHARGED MY CARD OK MY CARD! AFTER WE SAID WE WANTED TWO TABS! SHE WAS RUDE AND WHEN WANTED TO SPEAK TO A MANAGER THEY TOTALLY BLEW ME OFF! I'M SORRY THATS NOT THE WAY YOU TREAT A CUSTOMER! I WILL NEVER EVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN! Pros: MUSIC , DJ, AND BARTENDERS REALLY NICE Cons: DUMB WAITRESS, BAD SERVICE! more

Eh. 5/2/2008

So my friends and I like everyone else, wanted to try somewhere new besides in hollywood. She got recommended to Tatou. So let's start off with a 3 line wait to get in ( that took around 15-20 mins). To top it off even more the cover charge was 20 bucks. To even hypen the moment there was hardly any ventilation on the dance floor in the club. I've never sweated so much on a dance floor before; therefore, that's how dry it was in there. The drinks of course were pretty expensive. Even to quench my thirst, water bottle was 5 dollars so I figured for that price, might as well get a drink. The crowd was eh.. not really my style, but some of the guys.. wow freakin' gross. I suppose I've never really see how guys act in a club that way before. Trying to cop a feel and take underskirt pictures so ladies beware. Or even take advantage of drunk girls for that matter. The pro of the club would pretty much be the DJ. He surely knew how to bring good beats to the club. Pros: DJ & Location Cons: Cover, Crowd, & Poor dance floor ventilation. more

Panoramic views of the Downtown skyline, good vibe & something different from the Hollywood scene 2/19/2008

I'm not much into the club scene, but when some of my friends came to L.A. from out of town, I decided to give Tatou a shot. I had heard about the club and I wanted a change from the Hollywood scene. I know I made the right choice as soon as I pulled into the parking lot. The view of Downtown is awesome! The place is huge and the palm trees inside are a nice touch. Compared to the other clubs I've been to you get the most for your buck at this place. The entrance fee is what you would expect to pay at a club but the table service is a real bargain. Trust me, Tatou has the best deals on table service anywhere in town. If you're looking for the experience of a hip club in a panoramic setting, I highly recommend this place. Pros: Price, location, location, location! Cons: Long line if you get there late more

Lookout Weekend 2/15/2008

I usually party it up in Hollywood, but some friends came into town last weekend and we wanted to do something different.. To start off, the club is Huge. No, really, I mean @#%^HUGE! There was at least 3 to 4 times the amount of people in an average club in Hollywood, yet there was still room to get around without having to squeeze your way through everyone. Secondly, the view they got of downtown is insane. You know those framed panoramic pictures of city skylines? --yeah, they've got nothing on this view. Lastly--despite what I've heard, the DJ actually wasn't bad--a mix of top 40 and some dope hip-hop=a good night. Don't get me wrong, I'm still gunna be hittin up the Hollywood scene, but this could very well be the new spot. Pros: Good vibe with a great view of downtown Cons: Valet takes forever more

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE SERVICE 2/9/2008

my friend was djing at the "club" one night and my boyfriend and I were gonna go hang out...we walked up 4-5 minutes after they had walked in (a large group of my friends ALL WEARING SNEAKERS) and the doorman refused to let my boyfriend in because he was wearing nike dunks...I let him know that I had checked their website and all it said was "no white sneakers" and pulled up the website on my phone to show him...He refused to look, was acting like the biggest A hole in the world and the manager was the same way...At this point I didnt need to go in to their club but I just wanted them to understand that they were not taking responsibilty for their website error...I was sooooooooo angered by these people that I cried the entire night...It was like trying to speak to the most ignorant people ever...Really horrible if youre used to the Hollywood scene-it's very much a "dress shoes required" kind of place...(and most people know what that means...) Cons: horrible service!!! more

horrible service 12/2/2007

I am a big fan of wokcano so when i found out they were opening one closer to home i was thrilled. But as sat down i started getting dissapointed. first of all our waitress only came to introduce herself give out the menus and take the order. i had to ask the bus boys for more soft drinks or whatever i needed. to top it off there was a salsa lesson going on in the middle of the dinner floor, while i was trying to enjoy my dinner.can u imagine trying to have a conversation with a background of salsa music and a woman counting the slasa steps on a microphone! very annoying! we had to go up tp the cashier to check out and pay, not only that but i was charged double on my credit card, and when i requested that they to the error they had an attitude about it. so i tried shaking it off by going downstairs to the club. Very nice place, the set up is beautiful, but nothing more to it. just a regular wanna be hollywood club in down town. Pros: you have a beautiful down town view Cons: too many more

Let The Good Times Roll 11/10/2007

So I've been here 5 or 6 times now, 2 times prior to last night with table service in the big cabana in back and at the fore tables behind the rail on the rightside as you walk in....... Most people will complain about it being a Super AZN club... I party quite a bit and at various locales from divebars to lounges, and even the bar at the bowling alley.... I've always had a good time here, with 3 different groups of friends... Last night I walked in with a party of about 25 guests 20 minutes after the guestlist closed, but I had booked a table, upon check in I was greeted by the door personnel, promoters, and one of the owners, all my friends were comped in walked to our table, our server kept the table clear, the mixers full and the booze flowing with class and speed... The music was mostly run of the mill radio hip hop, but well mixed, and some "mash ups" including a freestyle mix of GunsNRoses...hahahaha I won't disclose what the final bill was.. but no where in southern california can 25 people can get walked in, and drink the way we did for what we paid........ without being at least a B-List celebrity let alone a popular saturday night stop in Downtown LA..... It was a good night... not dissappointing, and not overwhelmingly euphoric... but I woke up this morning satisfied.... With an open mind, proper planning, and good friends this place is great venue to celebrate in style and not break the bank.... I'll be back Pros: Excellent door personnel, great table locations, 1500 capacity Cons: always getting lost leaving tatou at 2am to get to the freeway more

Never Ever go here 10/18/2007

The worst place I have ever been. Do not go there. Shady people that steal stuff from you. Horrible service and cheap liquor. Dan the manager is terrible. I would not go back if someone paid me. Someone stole my credit card and opened a tab with it. I hate this place...I hate this place...do not ever go!!!! Pros: absolutely nothing Cons: EVERYTHING more

Best Chinese Chicken Salad! 7/16/2007

I work near Tatou and go there for lunch a few times a week. I usually order the Chinese Chicken Salad and it is the best salad I've ever had. My co-workers love it to, and everyone I have recommended it to has loved it. The service is quick and the prices are cheap. The hostess always seat me right away and the restaurant itself is beautiful. They also have a full bar. The crab wontons and honey walnut shrimp are excellent too. Pros: Chinese Chicken Salad, full bar, prices, quick service Cons: Gets crowded on Fridays more

DINE AT YOUR OWN PERIL 5/12/2007

What a joke! This place is closer to Hell than Hell's Kitchen. We called for a same day reservation and were told "be here by 9:30 or you won't be served." Well, we arrived before 9:30 and were promptly seated. What happened thereafter is a dining experience I would rather soon forget. The (single) waitress was polite, but completely overwhelmed and out-of-sorts. When we asked for a wine list, we were told that they had 2 wines. When we asked for a drink list, she gave us a hand-sketched menu written on the back of what apparently had been the old wine menu (apparently at one time they carried more than 2 wines). When we received menus, they bore no comparison to the menu that we found on-line (much shorter, much less interesting), and we were told that they didn't have one of the major dishes. Also, the menu failed to resemble the "Cal-Latin-Asian Fusion" the web-site touts. When the waitress finally did come to take our orders, she took the orders of 2 people only, leaving the remaining four of us sitting wondering what happened. About 1.5 hours after we sat down, our appetizers began to arrive, although they only gave us 2 of 3 initially. The 3rd they brought 1/2 later, at the same time as the 2 entrees that had been ordered first, again leaving the other 4 of us sitting wondering what had happened. We sat for another 20 minutes and never received our food. We asked for the manager 5 TIMES and were repeatedly told that he was coming over. He never showed. We eventually walked out. What a ridiculous experience. I would avoid this place if at all possible, although the club on the other side appeared to be a separate and apparent good time. Pros: Club Cons: Complete Lack of Service more

One of the Best St. Patty's Days! 3/18/2007

I went to Tatou for Saint Patrick's Day and this has to be one of the nicest clubs in LA. My friends and I had a private booth and table service was so cheap! It came with a lot of food and I had the filet mignon which was delicious. The drinks were hella cheap too. Music was good and I really liked the DJ, but the dance floor got a little too crowded. Service got a little slow too, but it was really packed for St. Patty's Day. But the atmosphere was so much fun that my friends and I are going to go again this weekend. Plus the guy who sat us at our table was really hot! I highly recommend this place! Pros: Food, Drinks, Music, and the VIP Host! Cons: Service a little slow more

must see!! 3/18/2007

i for one love the night life, but hate the hollywood scene. parking alone makes me very anxious. i can't describe how much i enjoy tatou. the staff are always very polite and prompt, well as prompt as they can be for being so overloaded with customers. the food is delicious, kinda pricey for a student, but michael wray is SO worth it. the drinks are a reasonable price i would say about average for the scene. the parking is cheap and close. girls be happy because there's never a line in the bathroom. i love the decor! well mostly the plasmas they are just so damn pretty! i've been on both friday and saturday nights and both nights are popping with VERY GOOD djs! oh yes! and the go go dancers are very hot. i've gotten the vip package once and it is well worth it. Pros: parking, drinks, food, dancing! smoking patio for those who smoke, hot staff! Cons: gee i guess it depends on the person, kinda long wait in line more

dont go here 3/17/2007

Seriously, this might have been the worst experience I've ever had going out in LA. I tried this place because it's in downtown and I was sick of hollywood, but this place is dirty, ridiculously overpriced, and the music is horrible. They just reopened after remodelling, and it looks like a sh*thole. I would never return. Pros: none really Cons: everything more

  • In Short
"Hell's Kitchen" winner Michael Wray has added a Latin tinge to the restaurant's corporate Wokcano menu, including favorites like sliced filet mignon, pan-seared striped bass, and a honey-walnut dish that the staff lovingly refers to as "shrimp crack." The restaurant also holds jaw-dropping athletic dance battles. The main dance floor features looming palm trees and a giant Doric column. As dancers bounce to Top 40 and salsa, ubiquitous plasma screens display music videos, and scantily-clad women perform on elevated stages.
