Never going back there again! 7/20/2011

One Of the Worst Places I've eaten (or tried to eat) at! No Parking, poorly organized seating, it was like fighting for a table, no greeting at the door. I was starving and craving ""lengua en salsa verde"", My daughter had a Pozole, My Mom, Menudo. After a long wait, our order finally was taken. After a longer wait, our food arrived. On my plate the meat looked stale, like it had been frozen, then thawed, re-frozen and rethawed. My daughters Pozole, the meat had these blue-green lines like veins running through them. My mom's Menudo looked like jelly fish. We all tried each other's plate, all insipid and disgusting. I called the waitress to please come take my plate away because i was getting nauseous. She asked what's wrong and i told her, she said she would bring it to the attention of the owner. Came back and told me: ""he said you still have to pay for the plate, and he's not giving you another one. He said there is nothing wrong with the meat, it was fresh"" i kindly asked her to tell him to taste it and tell me it's fresh. He, of course refused. we returned all the dishes to the kitchen and did not request new ones, we all just wanted to get out of there quick. we paid our bill, no tip. and we're never going back. Worst place i've ever eaten! Will always recommend against! Horrible experience, especially when hungry! more

Wormy food 12/2/2010

Just came from there afterr reading all the high reviews yes the taste was terrific!! Till my hubby found a live worm in the cuernitos aka pork he was having! We almost ran out!! The manager told us that it had nothing to do with the pork it came from the cabbage that was next to it and that the rest of the food was on the house..Thanks but no thanks we left very disappointed! And hopefully to god he doesn't catch somekind of bacteria from the worms!!! more

Good Authentic Mexican Food 11/20/2003

Growing up in East Los Angeles, I have been surrounded by good authentic Mexican food. Liliana's definetly stands out as one of my favorite places for inexpensive Mexican food that stimulates the palate. It is located in the heart of ELA about a block from Soledad church. I recommend that you swing by for breakfast or lunch. Recommended dishes: Chilaquiles, tamales, menudo, pozole, and whatever else your heart desires. Most of their menu is delicious. They even have mariachi's that walk in on the weekends. By the way, they were recently featured in Travel magazine as one the recommended restaurants in ELA. Pros: Authentic, Inexpensive Cons: Crowded for breakfast, Mariachi donations, Bad parking more
