Horrible FOOD POISINING! 3/25/2012

Please be careful when dining here. This is a horrible sushi place that doesn't even have a real sushi chef, just some minimum wage employee rolling out sushi. Made me ill. I know for a fact because I had not eaten all day and within 2 hours I was vomiting and sicker than hell. more

My boyfriend took me here for Dinner a few weeks ago, I was really surprised the sushi was really fresh and the rolls were different and fun. Pros: Good fresh Sushi more

Casual place for great sushi! 3/10/2009

Great casual place for fresh sushi! The rolls are huge and the prices are good. The rolls are extremely creative and the waitresses/sushi chefs are very friendly. The service is super fast and it is pretty easy to find a parking spot. I love to pick this up on my way home from work! Pros: very fresh sushi, good prices, good lunch special Cons: pretty small more

best sushi 90019 3/8/2009

I get my sushi from this place ALL the time- dining and delivery! The udon noodle, shrimp tempura, salmon, and tuna are so good. Do not under estimate the appearance of this place. Pros: great service Cons: dragon roll is not recommended more

Avoid 5/25/2008

I used to love going here. I honestly felt it was some of the best sushi in LA. I got very sick once and stayed away for a while. I went back and all was good and yummy. 1 month later, I got very sick again. This time I was flying to New York and ended up being asked to leave the plane because I was so sick. When eating sushi, you need to be careful anyway but the second time around made me so violently ill that it will be hard to go back to this restaurant. Pros: used to be great Cons: not fresh fish or not handled well more

Yay for Sushi Eyaki 9/1/2007

My beau and I have been driving past this place for a year and never even noticed it's there. A few months ago i finally took notice and decided I'd look into but it wasn't until yesterday that I decided to look it up on here and Citysearch to see what people thought, well the good reviews across the map were enough to convince me and we went for dinner last night. You guys did NOT dissapoint!! Pros: Ambiance, Service, Food, Air Conditioning, Not too crowded Cons: Limited parking more

Great neighborhood sushi joint 7/15/2007

I was soooo glad when Sushi Eyaki opened up in my neighborhood. The sushi is fantastic, as are the cooked dishes and the service is always really great. Right now, my favorite thing there is the summer roll, but I think that it's a seasonal special, so get it while it's on the menu. My kids love the udon and we all love the spicy chicken yaki and the beef roll. This is really a neighborhood treasure and I hope it's around for many years to come. Pros: sushi, udon, fabulous service more

Great lil spot for casual japanese fare 4/14/2007

I don't know what kind of budget you're on but this place is not pricey at all. I've been there several times with my belly full on 20 bucks. (sometimes less.) The staff has always been accommodating and friendly and the sushi has always been fresh and tasty. :) Their udon is awesome! I always get the Udon with grilled chicken. Try it... it's great. Their special rolls are large enough to consider them a small entree. Pros: casual, comfy neighborhood spot more

Best Udon in LA! 3/3/2007

I discovered Sushi Eyaki through a friend about a year ago. Since then I have been hooked! Their sushi is amazing, the service is fabulous and the udon soup in the best in town. If you like fresh fish, and amazing rolls go here! If you're looking for something a little different get the Alex Roll (spicy tuna on deep fried rice). My favortie on the menu is the Udon and spicy tuna combo. more

YUMMY 1/13/2007

Highly recommended. Great atmosphere, friendly sushi men and waitresses, and most important, delicable food! Pros: Prompt seating, many freebies, friendly atmosphere more

Favorite ""hidden"" spot 10/11/2006

I call this a hidden spot not because it's hard to find, but because it's never crowded (and there's only one other review on CSearch). Honestly, I don't understand why it's not packed full all the time. My girlfriend and I both agree that it's some of the best sushi we've ever had. The fish has always been fresh, and they often give ""service"" (complimentary dishes). We've gotten free sashimi 4 out of 6 visits. They play mellow reggae music, which strikes me as odd since I've never associated Japanese or Koreans with rasta. Surprisingly, it doesn't detract from the atmosphere at all, and adds a younger, more casual vibe to the sushi experience. The chefs are always smiling and having fun, and the waitress has always been very attentive to our table. Pros: Food, atmosphere, service Cons: None. more

great lunch spot! 4/20/2006

I come in about once a week for lunch. The service is always great and the prices are very reasonable. And the food! It's all standard Japanese fair, but they do it well. Parking is availble either in the strip mall or on side streets. Pros: food, lunch specials, clean more
