Good place to hang out with friends and your sweethearts!\r What I like about supperclub is its atmosphere. If I go there, I feel very comfortable, fully relax and behave myself ...

First let's start with the positive. To be fair, I must say, this definately was an experience. The decor, atmosphere, and personalities definately made the night fun. This ni...

Totally Unique Experience....Loved It!!! 10/11/2006

Either I got extremely lucky the 2 times I had dinner at SupperClub, or some of these poor people in the previous posts had terrible luck. I had a fantastic time both times. First, the decor (and lighting) is STUNNING...world class! Second, I found the waitstaff to have a really good balance between being knowledgeable, efficient and attentive, yet at the same time they also were playful, sassy and fun....great service both times. \r \r I went the first time with my girlfriend and the second time with a group of 4. Both times, all 5 courses were delicious and it seemed like everyone around us were having an equally great time. The meals did not take as long as some of these posts say. It did take about 3 hours, which is long for normal U.S. standards, but if you go with people that you like and you make an evening out of it, it's perfect....relaxed and fun........In fact, both times, we (and many others) stayed for quite a while after the dinner was finished, hanging out, listening to the incredible music, chatting with our ""neighbors"" next to us, even dancing. And they have periodic entertainment throughout the meal, which, both times, I found to be really interesting and strange, but in a good way, because the performers I saw were truly talented and extremely creative....I thought they really added to the entire experience...\r \r To recap, I guess supperclub isn't for everyone. But, if you are a fun, adventurous person who is open-minded and likes to experience something unpredictable and out of the ordinary, and you go with people you genuinely like, then you will LOVE supperclub. If you're conservative and are uncomfortable with trying new things or don't like a lively environment when you dine, then you might be better off staying home in your own bed. I, for one, would go back in a heartbeat! Hope this helps you decide if it's right for you... more

SUHKERCLUB is more like it, be a suhker! go to dinner at the supperclub! 10/7/2006

Wow, it's been a long time since i've felt so ripped off after a night of entertainment. So the entertainment was a half dressed idiot getting into a tank of cold water over and over again, people were clapping when he added ice to the water. What the hell were they applauding for? The food was terrible, 5 dishes over 5 hours WHEEEE! I thought for sure they were gonna screw up dessert, but it turned out okay.\r \r The music was way to loud, being served by a guy in sweat pants and a mohawk was lame. I don't care if you think sitting on a bed is trendy, it's crappy to eat like that. The porkchops had more fat than oprah, the drinks were good, but for 10 bucks a pop they should be. Some chick in a pink wig sang like a female middle eastern burkha wearing mongoloid, i'm sorry more like wailed like an female middle eastern burkha wearing mongoloid..same song, three times during the night. Some girl dressed like a nurse told my friend that he needed to get spanked 3 times a day. WOW, now this is what i call entertainment.\r \r I guess it's a fun way to celebrate the ""eurotrash"" culture, but my god it was so boring for what it was. \r \r total for the evening $660.00, yep thats right. Other friends demanded we go to a taqueria. Eating a burrito and passing gas from my behind into your face would be better entertainment than this place! Pros: the drinks Cons: just about every fuhking thing you can imagine. more

I want my money back! 10/7/2006

What a disappointment - save your time and money and DO NOT go to SupperClub. I was expecting a cool show and good food, but didn't get either one of those. The food was just ok - definitely not worth the money. We were served 5 courses over about 5 hours, but I wasn't even interested in what was coming out next after the 3rd course. As for the ""show"" - a guy floated in a tank 3 times during the night, and a girl sang the same melody to what seemed to be the same song 3 times during the night. I went with a group of 6, and we spent $110 PER PERSON. And after we left, my friends went out for pizza. Next time I want to eat in bed, I'll order in, rent a movie, and save about $100. Pros: good drinks Cons: the food, the entertainment more

Do NOT go here for dinner ever, maybe just for dancing later 9/24/2006

very expensive for what it is\r 5 course dinner last Saturday: #1: 1 smallsize box of popcorn, to split with 4 peope, #2 tiny salad, #3 a soup served in a cardboard small-size cup (same as an 8-ounce coffee cup) and no spoon, #4 pork, good dish, #5 3 mini cones of icecream, pathetic, you can find better at Safeway.\r the waitresses (3 different ones, so it means they're trained to do this) were VERY pushy with wines, to the pouint whee twice they brought bottles we hadn't asked for and we had to say no, once we were not paying attention and they started pouring, then said she couldn't take it back because it was already open ...\r crowd is ""mixed"" .. if you know what I mean Pros: scene Cons: poor value, terrible meal, pushy waitresses more

It tries so hard to be cool that it's not 9/17/2006

The food was very good when i was there, but the show left a lot to be desired. We and the people in the booths near us couldn't stop laughing at what they called a 'show'. If i thought sporting sparkles, heavy makeup, a white spandex cat suit and ONE platform shoe and walking around like i was a robot is art then i would have given my 8 year old niece the $100 we spent on dinner. The show was boring.\r \r more

Weirdest night in SF yet... 9/12/2006

Ok, this place is WEIRD. Typical snotty hostesses assuming you're not on a list. I met my friends for drinks there who had come earlier for dinner. Their dinner reservations were for 7:45pm, and when I got there at 11:30 pm, they had JUST GOTTEN THEIR FOOD! Are you kidding me??! The waiters were dressed in harlequin drag and were a bit rude. The walkways on the upper level are small, so if you need to go downstairs to use the restroom, it takes you 10 minutes and you step all over everybody. It's a real mixed bag of people who are there. Plenty of yuppies who have a ton of money, corporate types who are showing clients a ""good time"", and just a bunch of freaks. After dinner was served, a striptease/Marilyn Manson/people on stilts/cabaret show started, and instead of people being enraptured, more people looked grossed out, and I personally thought I was in a bad dream or something. The DJ wouldn't take requests, it was just one of those places that you can say you've been to, but would NEVER go back. It's trendy, sure, and it's decorated fabulously, but my friends ended up paying $125 EACH for their dinner and drinks. The portions looked absolutely tiny, even smaller than appetizers, so we were joking all night that each bite was like $15. I don't know, if you're into weird places that are overpriced and leave you feeling like you've been mildly violated, then go ahead, have some supperclub. My personal take, don't waste your time. Pros: cool bar, very trendy Cons: tiny portions, slllllllow service, creepy drag show that had no talent more

Interesting evening, good food. 8/26/2006

I organized a group of 6 at Supperclub on a Thursday night. The venue is very impressive. Great decor & ambience. The color of the room changed as the night went on. The beds were comfortable (of course one has to be prepared for sitting that way, ie wear comfortable, but chic, clothing). Unfortunately we got the bed in the back corner. (I think it was because of our size - as couples seemed to have better positions) There were stairs in the way, so we couldn't really see the entertainment, but what we saw of the entertainment was not that great. I felt it was weak (a guy dressed in drag singing to his teddy bear then chopping it up with scissors). The service was very good and the employees seemed to really like working there. The food was pretty good - good presentation. Overall, we had a GREAT time. It was definitely worth the cost (after several bottles of wine it came to $115 pp). However, I'm not sure I would do it again. Been there, done that. For the cost, I'd prefer to try something new, but I would recommend this place to any first timers!! Have fun! Pros: Ambience, something different, colorful Cons: stairs in room get in the way of view more

Amazing atmosphere, great food and drinks - definitely worth the price! 7/30/2006

I am glad I went before I read all the negative reviews or I might never have gone! This place was amazing! Of course, as with anywhere, who you go with makes a huge difference in your experience. If you are a picky eater or in any way uncomfortable with open sexuality on display or if you are in a rush (or if the person you are with is any of these things), then this is not the place for you. \r \r But if you are adventurous and go with someone you really enjoy, Supperclub is an amazing place!\r \r I went on a Saturday night. We got there at 7:30 which is when you ""check in"" for dinner, not when you are seated. We sat in the bar for perhaps 20 minutes or so when our escort came in to take us to our bed.\r \r That's when the fun started and it just got better from there. I would have still loved the place even if the food had been mediocre, but that just wasn't the case. Only one of the five courses (six if you count the spiced hot chocolate) was ""okay."" The other five dishes they served were very good. Yes, the portions are small, but when you are eating five courses, you don't want huge portions. And yes, it was a long time between courses, but this is the way things are done in Europe, where conversation is just as important as eating the meal. Also, the specialty drinks were very good, and the wine list, I have to say, was pretty reasonably priced. And we never had a problem with slow service - if one waiter wasn't available, someone else came along and filled in.\r \r As for entertainment, the DJ added to the ambiance without overpowering anything, and I never felt unable to hold a conversation. I will admit the opera singer hurt my ears, and some of the sexuality seemed contrived, but the aerial dancer was amazing.\r \r Over all the whole experience was definitely worth repeating! Pros: Great food, great drinks, great atmosphere Cons: Making reservations is a HUGE hassle if you go with a group. For a couple, it's much easier. more

Over Priced, WAY to slow 7/8/2006

food was below average and little portions of pretty food, entertainment sucked and it was way too expensive. \r \r the manager has a napoleon complex\r \r won't return more

Dreadful Experience 6/14/2006

This was a horrible waste of money, thankfully not my own, but still... The theme was amnesia the week I went, and they'd apparently forgotten the entertainment as all we got was a guy in a thong sitting in a tank of water. 3 1/2 hours of poor DJing and no entertainment other than watching a bridge and tunnel crowd couldn't be saved by the excellent food as the timing of each course was so poorly handled. That chef is genius however, and should get out while this place still gets unwarrented raves. The waitstaff is so into themselves (the two in our area kept touching and flirting with each other like highschool kids) they brought us the wrong drinks twice, and then left the overpriced bottles on our bill. A total disappointment. Pros: Food is outstanding Cons: Embarrasingly bad entertainment, horrible service, waaaay too long between courses more

Cool Scene 6/13/2006

Sitting on the beds while eating is a unique and enjoyable experience. Everyone should try this place out once for dinner. The food is different. Some dishes are good while some are not. I personally won't be going back but I can see how some people would frequent Supper Club often. more

Not worth the money 5/19/2006

I was with a group of six and we were kind of squished around the tiny table on our bed. We were seated in the back corner so we had a great view of the food prep area and the emergency exit but could not see the performers at all. We had to beg for water and then they'd bring a carafe that only filled four glasses (so we'd have to immediately beg again). The 45-minute wait between the tiny courses was ridiculous -- we left very hungry and $125 each in the hole. When I've spent that much I need to feel like I just had an amazing meal and experience, but I felt like I'd spent money on a gimmick. Ick. Pros: Nice servers Cons: Way overpriced, Courses were tiny more

expensive & takes too long 5/9/2006

my group of 7 girls and 1 guy came here for dinner about a month ago. the five course prix fixe meal ($70) was delicious but the courses are spaced too far apart. while this was ok in the beginning (it took us 5 hours to finish), the beds we were seated on had a soporific effect near the later courses. sleep seating is novel, but it was uncomfortable clustering around the small tables. food can best be described as international fusion as we had satays, miso soup, and ribs. entertainment (drag dancers, kung fu performances) was kind of boring. the servers (dressed in ostentatious drag) were amusing at first, but it got a little old after awhile. however, the service they provide is super attentive and accommodating. drinks are expensive (~$10) but they have tasty concoctions. bill came to almost $100pp which was too much for the experience. Pros: interesting time, good food, nice servers Cons: takes too much time, boring entertainment, expensive more

Horrible service 4/15/2006

The horrible service made the place so unclassy. The staff needs to realize that they work for tips in a service industry, so they need to actually provide some sort of service. It was so bad I can't even say I'll go back to give it another try. Pros: nice decor Cons: horrible music, horrible staff, clueless bartenders more

You can't help but have fun here! 3/6/2006

I didn't want to go - I thought it would be a trendy scene. Was I wrong! From the moment we walked in the energy was great. I do have the say the food was pretty bad so if you're wanting a great dining experience, you'll be disappointed. But, if you want to have a completely different experience and lots of fun give it a try. Where else can you dance between dinner courses, have your hair done, know all the waitstaff by name, jump on a bed and have a pillow fight in the middle of dinner. I do think that $70 for that meal is ridiculous but you're paying for the experience. Our bill came to $130 per person (incl tip & drinks). We went on Friday night and I'm still laughing about it today, Monday. Try it, if you don't like it you must be pretty dull. Pros: Fun atmosphere, great drinks Cons: Food, expensive more

What a disappointment! 1/19/2006

My husband and I went with high expecations from the rave reviews the restuarants had been given on Citysearch. What a LETDOWN. The quality of the food left much to be desired. It was mediocre at best. We've had better at some of the hole in the wall restaurants in the city, and paid FAR LESS for it. For $60/course, we were expecting much more from the dinner. The club was built as a platform for artists to showcase their skills. With that, I was hoping to see performances that would take my breath away. Had I known that the main acts consisted of a man spinning hula hops around his stomach and another man prancing around in knee high boots, speedos, and a leather cape, I may have just stayed home and watched Desperate Housewives. Very disappointing indeed! Overall experience was not positive. I hope readers heed the warning! Cons: overpriced, bad food, bad entertainment more

Great place to take the adventurous visitor. 1/12/2006

I'd have to disagree with naysayers. The food was a VERY tasty blend, nothing gamey or spicy. Different, but pleasing. My favorites were a goat cheese ravioli with lobster in a lemon yogurt sauce and a light pastry with creamy sauced veggies inside. Yum. The only complaints from our large group were from someone visiting from the midwest who basicly only eats beef, breads, and potatoes... and he liked 3 of the 5 courses. The entertainment ranged from downright weird to very eclectic and added greatly to the experience. All very different. Not for the fans of the cookie-cutter Hollywood formula movie. As for the staff, they treated you like people. No canned speaches or fake nicities. They really were there to make sure you had a nice time. Fans of lame sitcoms, top 40, hip-hop and Denny's probably shouldn't go. * The massage therapists charge a buck a minute. Pros: Different!, Wonderful food, Unforgetable Cons: Poor location of bar more

It's a tourist trap 12/31/2005

Either the folks giving rave reviews ar tourist or were just really drunk. I went out of curiousity. For the amount of money that I paid, I expected better food, better service, and real entertainment. The chocolate cake tasted like one of those packaged made cakes that can sit in your pantry because of all the preservatives. There is a long wait between servings so this is their opportunity to push alcohol on you. Great business strategy but you can end up a with a $200 bill/per person. When we stopped drinking, our waitress stopped coming by and we got a snotty remark from another waiter because we didn't want any more drinks. The entertainment - I think they pulled the first people off the street. Go out of curiousity but know the food sucks and there is not much entertainment. Watch your pocket on the booze. Pros: the bed Cons: food!!!, service!!!, entertainment more

very disappointing 12/28/2005

My guest and I arrived at 7:10, and were told that we'd be seated at 7:30. We didn't get into the dining room until past 8! When our waiter asked me if I liked sweetbreads with my salad, I said I didn't, and was told to just ""push them aside"" when the plates arrived. He also ""jokingly"" called us cheap after we stopped ordering drinks. I could not finish the substandard food, despite the meager portions, and we were left with empty stomachs and a $200 bill. The so-called ""entertainment"" portion of the night (two short performances) also left MUCH to be desired. Pros: bed seating Cons: rude staff, substandard food, lack of entertainment more

Perfect for a unique night out! 12/11/2005

We went to the Supper club last night (on a sunday) and had a wonderful experience. The atmosphere, of course, was hip and very unique, and the food was great as well. I'm a vegetarian & I actually didn't feel (like at some places) that they tossed whatever non-meat items on my plate that they had lying around the kitchen. The food seemed thoughtfully put together and very tasty! I went with one other person and we both thought it would be a great place to go with a big group of people. It is pricey ($60/person plus wine) but the value is great for a special occasion ! Pros: atmosphere, food, entertainment Cons: pricey (but worth it), Reservations difficul more
