Best

Good place to hang out with friends and your sweethearts!\r What I like about supperclub is its atmosphere. If I go there, I feel very comfortable, fully relax and behave myself ...

Worst

First let's start with the positive. To be fair, I must say, this definately was an experience. The decor, atmosphere, and personalities definately made the night fun. This ni...

Needs more than a gimmick 11/27/2005

Atmosphere is probably the best. The food looked a lot better than it tasted. The waiter served my pregnant wife raw fish even when we told him before not to. Bar service is slow. Crowd was about 5 deep to the circular bar on Saturday night, even though the bartenders were trying. The manager is super pretentious and likes to be seen ordering the staff around. He banged on the bathroom door incessantly and yelled for me to get out, as if I were in his house. DJs are pretty lame considering SF standards. Probably won't go back, even though it was fun for something different. Pros: atmosphere, unique Cons: service, music more

Poser Alert 11/11/2005

If you want to be seen and pay for overpriced popcorn, this is your bag baby. While the setup is unique, there is very little to make a person want to come back more than once. more

Entertaining 11/8/2005

I'm from Manhatten and was in San Francisco for one night last week before heading up to Seattle for business. A colleague took me to supperclub which was an interesting and entertaining experience. The 5 course meal was good and extremely reasonable at $50. Very urban crowd and uber cool music. I've been to other restaurants with the eating in ""bed"" concept so that wasn't as fresh for me. But, I had a great time. more

Dining on cloud 9! 11/8/2005

This place is just amazing. The restaurant is especially fun if you go with a large group of people. Service, Entertainment and Ambiance are absolutely fabulous, but main course left a little more to be desired, I'd go with the vegetarian menu as the lamb didn't taste right. Cost of dinner for four people was $500 including a bottle of champagne and 14 cocktails, so very reasonable, and we didn't have to pay extra for the table once the crowd started rolling in! FOUR STARS! more

Words don't describe the experience 10/30/2005

San Francisco is definitely the best pick in the US for Supperclub's concept. Be ready to be entertained in a very San Francisco way. The whole night reminded me of one of the lux rave parties, and the diners there hipster professionals who will use their vacation days to burning man type. I was afraid that the food may be compromised because of all other visual distractions (Princess Kennedy with short short short red dress exposing beautiful legs, servers in underwear, anime-ish attire, graceful acrobatic performers etc), but I was surprised that most of the five courses were good. It was a Pajama Party night, and the next day was Aquatic Erotic Underwear night, so make sure to find out ahead if there's any special theme for the night to max your experience. It's about $100-150 per person with tip, depending on alcohol consumption. Pros: Unique, Entertaining, Accomodating Food Cons: Not for Everyone more

Fantastic 10/29/2005

I was up from Los Angeles and a friend brought me over. Food was perfect. Only $60 for a 5 course meal that easily would have topped $90 or $100 anywhere else. Truffle popcorn, pumpkin salad, lamb shank, unbelievable cinnamon and apple pie in a martini glass. And ho can beat eating in bed and watching a ballerina / acrobat get tied up on the bar while dancing to sensuous house music. Hope for one in LA soon. Pros: tons of parking, great 20-35 crowd, comfy beds more

Wow 10/26/2005

Went for their first official night open to the public. All I can say is... WOW! Our party of 6 was shown to a comfy bed. The 5-course dinner (no menu - you get what they dream up) was inventive and yummy - pumpkin & goat cheese salad, duck & mushroom soup, tuna tatar on orange beets, halibut, and this apple/berry/whipped cream concocotion that had the table going crazy. During dinner a DJ played amazing music ranging from obscure French ballads to downtempo to dub to upbeat house all corresponding with the meal. The lighting also randomly changed throughout the meal. The crowd was eclectic and fun - think Miami chic minus the attitude with a good dose of Burning Man. Interesting characters in elaborate costumes floated by as performers delighted us with everything from performance art to campy drag queen numbers. Pros: unique, very fun, great food Cons: expensive drinks, eat on lap more

WOW 10/19/2005

This Place is Great. The Best experience in SF. I went with my friends 4 of us. The Staff was fun and on top of things. The food was GREAT........and I was really impressed with the Flow and Timeing of the courses. I even Got a Massage!! I Cant wait to Go again and again........ Pros: One Of A Kind, Comfortable Seating, Massages more

Unique Experience-groups perfect 10/13/2005

The experience was very unique! I felt like I was back in Europe, where they savor the food and enjoy the dinning experience. While the food was good--it was not outstanding. However, the wine and coctails were awesome and the service was incredible!! The restaurant had a 'group' service policy, so we were always taken care of. The show was hot!! Very sexual and erotic!! Perfect place to bring a group of friends or a date! It is like a meal and a show all wrapped in one! You have to experience it to believe it!! I loved it!! Very trendy, very european, Great music--and at the end of the meal the whole resaturant was on their feet dancing! I brought my friends from LA to the restaurant and they loved it!! Very Very San Francisco!! Pros: Good environment, Great Music, Friendly service Cons: Food- adverage, freaky-good as well, $$$60/per+ drinks more

Great place! 10/12/2005

I went with my girlfriend on a Thursday night and had a great time! The food was great - popcorn with truffle oil, butternut squash soup, lamb chops. The waitstaff was very fun. The entertainment was good enough. The place broke into a dance party at about 10:30-11. And how do you beat eating dinner on a bed? The whole thing wasn't cheap (figure a bit over $100pp with wine), but you have to take into account that it was a whole night of entertainment (arrived at 7:30 and left at midnight with the place still bumpin). It was good for a date, but I might recommend it more for a small group, maybe 4-6 people. Pros: Unique more

Overhyped and slow 10/10/2005

I had understood the supperclub to have acrobatics and live entertainment. Perhaps it was because I went on a weekday - one pretty nondescript mime who crawled about and a DJ was about all the live entertainment that was provided. Also, be warned that the prix fixe takes place over 4 hours. So for the 8pm seating, the food starts arriving at 9pm and by 10pm you are just getting the entree. It's a long time to be sitting around - albeit in very comfortable white pillowy beds. The food was also not to my taste. It started with popcorn in chinese take-out containers. The drinks were very good though and kept us going. We pettered out however at 10pm and left to eat elsewhere. Pros: Nice ambience Cons: Extremely slow, Not that great food more

User review by smilesalot 9/30/2005

Amazing evenning!! My girlfriend and i showed up after long anticipation of the openning. Our waiter was a riot! All painted up and a huge smartass, the service was extremely playful and helpful. The food, much better than i had expected, starting out with a pumpkin salad, slowly evolving into a tuna tartare, then halibu for entree that was cooked beautifully! The art and performances were stunning and gorgeous, some very handsom youing man doing ribbon work, hanging from the ceiling with mesmorizing lighting and music, breathtaking. as the evenning went on, i noticed i was eating my halibut to some funky house music (never done that before) all in all, I think the concept is perfect for SF and I am looking forward to returning again and again. Pros: visuals are amazing!, excellent food, friendly, fun staff Cons: can get crowded more

Would return for Drinks....may skip dinner 9/29/2005

We went on a week night and it had a great experience!! Everyone from the hostess (Princess Kennedy) to our server was FABULOUS!! We had a very pleasant evening and would definitely go back again for cocktails in the lounge area. I am not a big fan of pre-set menus so that would keep me from dining there again. However, the dinner was tasty and filling. Great job with creating an ""out of the box"" venue for SF! more

asia sf meets theatro zanzani in a car crash 9/24/2005

I have mixed feelings about supperclub. On one hand, I am glad I went; on the other, it will probably be only once. The design is something to behold and definitely worth taking in. The food is edible. The beds are interesting and reduce inhibitions. The entertainment is better than a high school dance squad, but zanzani or strip clubs are a step above depending on what you are looking for. Memorable eve, but plan on $100-$150 a person depending on drinks. Pros: the scene, interesting crowd Cons: servers overloaded, food average for $$$ more

A fresh new restaurant for San Francisco! 9/19/2005

Supperclub is probably the most unique dining experience one can have in San Francisco. First off, the interior design is incredible, and just reeks of European sophistication and fashion. The main dining room opens to visual projections, a DJ, and two levels of beds. Yes, you dine on huge, comfortable white beds. The dinner itself is $60 per person, a good value for the incredible 5-course meal we were served. The wait staff is extremely friendly, and look like they're having fun while serving, dancing and laughing together and with customers. The dining experience culminates in a performance piece by rope arialists and contortionists, as well as dancers. It was probably the most unique dining experience I've ever had, and I applaud whoever decided to import this restaurant from Europe to San Francisco, a perfect place for the US invasion to begin! Pros: Dining in Beds, Music, Architecture Cons: They're booked more
