I've been seeing Michelle for almost a year now...what a difference from waxing! My skin isn't as irritated post-sugaring and its smoother afterwards. Also, you don't have to grow your hair out as much for sugaring and I don't think it hurts as much as waxing. Sugar Sugar's studio is cozy, clean, bright, and friendly. You will love it! more

I got my bikini line sugared about 3 weeks ago and it is still smooth! First the experience was great...of course ripping hair out by the follicle is not a plesent experience but it was not that bad and the results are worth it! Second, I was able to get an appointment that fit with my schedule. Third, the sugar pro, i think her name was Nicole, was delightful and like I said the experience was not that bad. There was no hot wax to deal with and the sugar comes off any unwanted places with water, no messy wax to pick off. Finally, no ingrown hairs to deal with afterward! As a poor college student, it takes a lot to get me to spend money on anything not completely vital. . . sugar sugar is the exception! It's worth every penny. Michelle is so friendly and makes you feel completely at ease, and sugaring hardly hurts at all. She really takes the time to make sure you look as good as possible, it's completely worth it. Pros: Friendly, Easy to Schedule, Efficient Cons: It can be a little hard to find if you've never been, but I'm also bad with directions. more

I recently sugared full leg and brazilian for the first time. At first I was skeptical, and anticipated a painful experience. Michelle made me feel so comfortable and at ease, it really wasn't bad at all. By the end, I was already planning my next visit. I've followed her care instructions and advice, my skin is soft and smooth without a single ingrown hair so far. Thanks! more

I have never had any kind of waxing service at all, and was intrigued by the previous reviews and so I tried it out! I went in just for the ""basic bikini"" and was really bracing myself for some pain (Im a pretty big wuss) and let me tell you, it was nothing! I ended up getting the Brazilian!! I have been going back for my touch ups and have noticed those times are becoming further and further apart. If you have been kind of thinking about it I would do it, it?s wonderful! I also recently started getting facials there as well and have gotten facials at some overpriced high end salons but the facials I receive at Sugar Sugar I actually notice a difference. And lastly if this hasn't convinced you, Michelle is awesome. I couldn't picture having someone more perfect for making you feel comfortable and at ease. Sugaring is a great alternative to hair removal. It's clean, not too painful, fast and set at a reasonable price. I've tried shaving, waxing, nair, nads, and none have had greater results than sugaring. My hair grows back slower and finer. Not to mention, my skin is less irritated and not much ingrown hairs at all! I have really sensitive skin, so I was really surprised at the results and progress each time I got sugared. Sugar Sugar in Ballard is awesome! Michelle is very friendly, professional, and very keen. I get the full brazillian and under arms done every month and am very happy with the smooth results! Michelle always makes sure to inform you on how to manage and take care of your skin so you get the most out of your time and money. I highly recommend sugaring and especially Michelle!! I referred all of my friends and sisters to this alternative and the truth is...once you try it, you never want to try shaving, waxing, nair or nads every again! Sugar Sugar also offers organic facials and other sugaring desires! Try it! For reals, it's soooo worth it. Pros: fast, clean, safe, less irritation, less hair growth, evenings & Sundays available too Cons: a little pricey (still reasonable) but you should keep up every 4-6 weeks for best results more

OK I'm a convert too! Yep, not going back to the wax. Michelle took care of me and I have to say that I love everything about the sugaring process. Cleanliness foremost and relaxing atmosphere next. I'm thrilled about not having to wait until it all grows back to do it again. Will definitely continue. more

I can't say enough good things about this super-sweet addition to Ballard. I am SO over the overpriced Habi-attitude experience down the street, so this cozy and friendly little spa was just what I was looking for! \r \r Michelle and Toby (or Tobi?) give amazing Organic Facials. I had a Short and Sweet organic facial last night and it felt like WAY more than a 30 minute escape. From the moment I crawled onto the heated bed, I was a world away! And my sensitive skin looked radiant afterward--best of all no breakouts from harsh products and exfoliants!\r \r I also highly recommend their sugaring services for hair removal. Every time I have my eyebrows waxed, it looks like I took a red sharpie pen to draw in where my old eyebrows used to be for about 3 days after I'm done. I thought I was destined to pluck forever until Eva sugared my eyebrows clean! The redness was minimal and totally disappeared by the time I drove home--LOVELY. I think I may actually trust my nether region to her for my first bikini sugaring next week! \r Pros: Ideal for super-sensitive skin, Amazing facials, Cozy and friendly! Cons: none! more

All I can say is that Michelle made me feel sooo comfortable! I've never done sugaring and she was great! She talked to me the entire time and totally educated me on the littlest things. I have psoriassis and she gave me some tips and these great exfolliating gloves that have seriously helped! I really like the fact that she takes so much pride in what she does and is so educated. I am completely hooked on sugaring. So much that two of my girlfriend's are getting gift cards for the holidays. THANK YOU MICHELLE & SUGAR SUGAR! Love you guys! Muwahh! I love this place! I felt comfortable and at ease while getting the ""teeny bikini."" At such a great value, I'll be making Sugar Sugar part of my beauty regime. The friendly service kept me from feeling shy or self-conscious. Pros: Tons! Cons: None. more

I booked and an appointment with Eva, who was extremely sweet, accommodating, and professional. I did not really know what to expect, except I figured that it HAD to be better than getting waxed. My experiences with waxing, specifically the bikini area have not been positive. I always ended up with skin being slightly torn, bleeding, burned, and/or an incomplete wax. Being sugared was amazing to say the least. I am not saying that it was completely free of some discomfort, but it was not painful at all like wax. Most of the time, I did not feel anything at all. On the more sensitive part of my skin, it was more like a little pinch, yet a very quick pinch. Eva was made me feel very comfortable and was a perfectionist. The price is great and the results are fantastic. The end result was very smooth and clean skin, and I healed within the hour with no bumps or redness. One thing to note was for the moment they only accept cash or checks. Eva was so accommodating, I was able to cut into the appt. time in order to run over to the bank down the street to get some $$ . Most people would not do that. I will definitely be going back! Pros: Everything! Cons: None. more

Great Services at a reasonable price...and the staff is great too! Using sugar to remove hair is better and neater than waxing! I no longer break out after having my unsightly man hair removed (NOT a good look on a woman!). The residue just washes off. I'm trying out their facial services soon, too! I'm delighted to be writing this review, my first, because I can't say enough good things about my experience at Sugar Sugar. During my first visit with Eva, I got my eyebrows done -- even though I've been plucking them for the last 20+ years. Not only are my brows now a cleaner shape, but they have remained smooth for weeks. Next I decided to try the full leg treatment. Youch, yes, but the second visit the hair had already become finer and easier to remove. It's weird to say, but it actually felt good when those strips of sugar are pulled up. Not joking. My legs pretty fantastic, but best of all, I'm not shaving anymore! Check them out. They know what they're doing, are totally professional and give excellent tips for taking care of skin.
