Funny Place! 12/31/2005

It's definitely a funny place with a funny name. They actually have some pretty good deals there. I first discovered them a couple of years ago when they opened the one in Kenmore. They have since opened one in Seattle and it's always fun to stop and poke your head in to see what new items they have for sale. It's always no sales tax, which is a nice bonus! more

What they do 9/22/2005

I read the other reviews and think people missed the point of what this store is. Stupid Prices obviously buys broken or damaged lots (for cheap) and then resells the items individually. So you'll see discontinued merchandise, slightly damaged boxes of cereal or dented canned food. They also have a larger selection of things like TV's and couches for one reason or another are sold cheaply. I am figuring that they pay tax when they buy the items and are thus able to resell them and not collect tax. All-in-all it is worth checking out for cheap stuff. Kind of like a garage/yard sale... more

bad garage sale 9/13/2005

Stupid Prices is just that Stupid. In fact, not only is it stupid, it’s scary. It is a huge nasty warehouse that has cheap and even used-looking items that they are apparently selling for “stupid prices.” I saw nothing that I wanted to buy there, let alone even touch with bare hands. Although they say they sell things for no tax- for me it’s worth it to go somewhere and pay the extra money to not feel I was at a massive, indoor garage sale. more

Something for everyone! 8/12/2005

I was amazed when I first came across Stupid Prices; they have everything you could possibly want! They have electronics and lawn mowers and a grocery section and clothing and gadgets and gizmos, oh my! Though they are not very specialized in specific categories, they offer a wide range of items. I would describe it similar to a pawn shop, almost with the odd things you can find. The no tax makes me feel like I'm in Oregon, but I would say it's not a place to go to shop for everyday groceries. It doesn't replace Safeway because they don't have produce, and their dry goods like cereal options are lacking, and it doesn't take over Wal-Mart because their clothing racks are limited to about a dozen or so, but it is fun to stop by and see what they offer and what you can get for low, dare I say "stupid" prices! more
