Although the hours are great and no appointment is needed, you may wait 2 hours and have only 5 minutes with the vet (at least I think it was the vet, there was no introduction). ...

I don't trust this place with my pet 10/10/2013

We had an emergency and since St Paul Vet had great hours and walk-in service, I brought in my dog in who had signs distress. After signing the payment forms to ok the costs of the x-rays (you have to do this before they do anything common practice I guess but it gets worse) They confirmed that he needed surgery and that he needs surgery now. But first here is the cost, 1200 to 1800. Reasonable I admit but again, they need payment BEFORE the surgary can be done. Since I don't use credit cards and I would have to transfer the money to my account it would take 1 to 2 days for the transfer to take place. After wasting 45 mins the vet stated that maybe they can take half as a down payment and will check with the owner. I stated great, I can give you half now and when the transfer takes place I will give them the remainder then. This dog is our family dog who has 2 little girls who love him dearly please let the owner know this. The vet came back and coldly stated, No the owner of St Paul w more

It is my opinion that the positive reviews are obviously done in an attempt to bury the negative reviews. Here is my experience, We had an emergency and since St Paul Vet had great hours and walk-in service, I brought in my dog in who had signs distress. After signing the payment forms to ok the costs of the x-rays (you have to do this before they do anything, common practice I guess but it gets worse) They confirmed that he had a serious issue and that he needs surgery now. But first here is the cost, 1200 to 1800. Reasonable I admit but again, they need payment BEFORE the surgery can be done. The vet came back and coldly stated, No the owner of St Paul wants the minimum now before surgery can be performed, we can help you find another vet who may be able to perfome the surgery but we are much less expensive, oh and he is in very dire straits, After wasting another 25 mins making calls with no vet close to be able to do the surgery I told her that they are our only hope. She again coldly said that they need payment first because we have had to send many people to collection in the past. At this time my dog was basiclly falling in and out of consciousness and it was obvious that he was in pain and we wouldn't make it to another vet in time, I didn't want to give these people another penny but due to the agony that he was in we had him put down to end his pain. To put more salt in the wound they seemed to wait for me to sign everything before they would do it. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE IN MY OPINION, If you bring your pet here you need to be prepared to make your payment immediatly or you will not get treatment. Even in an emergency situation. I mean this from the bottom of my heart, if you love your pet, I would stay away. more

Best Vet in Milwaukee >.< 11/29/2012

This is the greatest vet in Milwaukee. The doctors, front desk girls and everyone else are wonderful. Always helpful, always kind and they all listen to your concerns and needs.\r \r I first went to St. Paul's vet three years ago because they were the only place open on a Saturday. I had to bring my dog in because she had a leg injury. I told them I was limited on funds and they went above and beyond to accommodate my baby. They did everything that was urgent for the amount of money I had. Most vets don't care that much but St. Paul's did.\r \r Since then I don't trust anyone else with my pets. I rave about them to everyone. \r \r If you have a pet, bring them to St. Paul's vet. They are truly the best in Milwaukee. They care. more

Our family has used St. Paul vets for more than 25 years, bringing in our cats, dogs, and pet rats, who have each received excellent, humane, and compassionate attention from all who work there. I cannot tell how comforting they were when little Cinder passed on at age 15, and I believe that all of my friends have gotten the best possible care. more

I have utilized St Paul Vet Clinic many times. I like that they have Saturday hours. You can't make an appointment, it is first come, first served. So get there before they open. Each time, we have been seen within 15-20 minutes. more

This clinic is open late for 5/29/2012

This clinic is open late for convenience. It's clear they really care about catering to people who can 't take off work, which is cool in my book more

nice 5/24/2012

The vets at St.Paul always seem to go out of their way to make my dog comfortable--and that's the most important thing in the world to me. It's completely walk-in and is open later in to the day. The vets always give us a couple of options and never feel like they're pushing us to spend more money. I highly recommend Dr. Donahue--she's fantastic! more

I took my cat here when he was peeing 4/18/2012

I took my cat here when he was peeing blood, and while I opted not to get the ultrasound to confirm his bladder stones--the vet performed one (free of charge) as he wanted to ensure that the $1000 surgery was necessary. I took my cat to a different Vet prior to this, and that same surgery( with all the unnecessary tests associated with it was going to cost me $4000.) They performed the surgery...and Mr. Malibu thought it was the cat's pajamas. He's all good and well and even likes the prescription food diet he is now on for life. I still go back there every few months to pick up cat food--and am always greeted with a smiling face! more

I just got a new kitten and decided to 3/28/2012

I just got a new kitten and decided to take her to St. Paul Vet. It was walk in only but the wait time was no more than you would have to wait anywhere else with an appointment. Front desk was extremely friendly and I could tell that the staff were all loving pet owners themselves. more

Life Savers 3/24/2012

I had been taking my 14 mos. 5lbs. chihuahua to this clinic since I got her at 5 weeks old and I had nothing but good things to say about the service, competence, and compassion we received...but last Saturday I got an 11 week old, 10 oz. Chihuahua, yes, 10 ounces! He was very listless and only wanted to sleep and eat. The folks I bought him from said it's 'cause he's so tiny. He also had a lot of congestion and food would come out of his nose when he ate. I had no money coming for another 2 weeks and didn't think I should wait until then to go to the vet. I explained my situation to Miranda a receptionist at the clinic, she spoke to Dr. Wendy Sherer who agreed to examine my tiny baby and they trusted me to make the payments on my payday!! My little boy had pneumonia and worms. I'd already gotten rid of 16 fleas off of his tiny litttle body. If The Dr. hadn't seen him, he would have been dead by my payday. While we waited, Miranda and Holly, the receptionist, were so kind. Th more

Not reassuring. 3/22/2012

Although the hours are great and no appointment is needed, you may wait 2 hours and have only 5 minutes with the vet (at least I think it was the vet, there was no introduction). The vet was ready to get out of the room after a 3 minute exam of my scared yet compliant dog but due to my 3 questions she actually stayed a few more minutes. I realize they are busy but I am paying them to assess my dog for any problems. I do not feel confident, so instead if waiting another year for her exam I must take her somewhere else to feel like she is healthy. more

We came to St. Paul after our cat 3/19/2012

We came to St. Paul after our cat started losing some fur on his back. being strapped for cash we decided to try a place that is known for being more affordable than other vets. I am so glad we did and I'll definitely take my pets here in the future. more

This is a good vet hospital. My puppy 2/3/2012

This is a good vet hospital. My puppy loves his visits to the vet now. He doesn't even mind the shots. They are gentle, organized and knowledgeable. They don't hurry you out the door at the end of your visit and they take a genuine interest in you and your pet's well being. more

Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Timely appointment and excellent animal and people skills. Thanks for taking care of my handful of puppies more

From 2/2010 to 1/2012 I have taken my pet to this clinic for a total of almost $500.00; without a proper diagnosis, nor treatment, except one pain killer; I was led to believe their mis diagonsis, which resulted in the decline of my pet and near death; these are facts and witnesses are available to prove this. this last time I was treated w/disprect, abuse, threats as I ascerted myself that each time I needed a life or death service for this pet I was told amounts before they would even be administered! Putting money before ethics and life is not moral to say the least but this clinic has done this repeatedly! The pet has seizures continually due to thier influenced misdiagonisis of two years ago and complications combined. With all the blood draws their s/d have been a proper, accurate, diagnoisis to prolong the pet's life in a healthy manner!\r I was sent a letter of abusive statements from this clinic that are considered slanderous, unfactual all because I stated 'they' put money more
