Best

Fast, cheap, good thai food. May be a chain, but at least you know what you're getting.

Worst

The service here was ok, but the food is lacking. I don't think I would even call it Thai food. Good prices...

puffy duck is always tasty and well worth the money. tried a new noodle dish this time with vermicelli and garlic sauce - it was ok, but seemed to lack any garlic flavor. more

Very decent. Nothing outstanding, but delivery time is good and food quality is good. more

Editorial review from Citysearch 7/4/2012

I've been here numerous times. I never had thai before so I was a little scared but it was excellent! If you go for lunch, you can get a free appetizer. It's small but worth it... since it's free! I always get the lemonades which was delicious and pretty big! The portions for the entree are very decent. I never finished a whole entree. I will definitely be back. I heard this location closed so not sure if that's correct but there are several locations all over Manhattan so check it out! more

Not Bad 4/13/2011

I haven't sat down there yet but I've heard mixed reviews about eating there. I always take out from here and enjoy it every time. I don't think that price is really a problem but sometimes the food is oily. more

Horrible Service - they don't honor their advertising 12/21/2010

The food is ok (over priced), but the management/service is awful. They had a happy hour advertisement (on the beeper they give you while waiting for a table), but when the bill came they told us that the happy hour specials didn't start until next year. Yet I asked them about their advertisement - they acknowledged that it was misleading, yet all they would do is say ""sorry"" with a big smile on their face. They were in no way willing to honor the advertised pricing. Spice is customer service at its worst. I will never eat there again; unless the management changes. Even then, probably not. Don't waste your time or your money. more

Good Thai, Good price 12/9/2010

Spice is extremely reasonably priced and good thai restaurant. Sometimes a little oily but otherwise everything is always cooked well and pretty delicious! Beware if you get delievery... it always takes atleast 20 minutes more than when they tell you! more

Best of the Spice locations 2/8/2010

I normally stick to the Spice restaurants when I want Thai food. There are several locations but this one is the biggest one so the wait and crowds are more tolerable than the other Spice locations. Pros: Good prices; dessert options Cons: Long wait; always crowded more

BAD service, rude manager 1/4/2009

The relocated Spice at Union Square was a let down! The service was really bad. Being popular (and I liked the old one) it was another busy day. But the attitude was callous and brash. Pros: decor Cons: deplorable service, brash waiters, ok food more

Dollar for Dollar best South Asian Restaurant 12/8/2008

I was shocked to go here with a group of 4, enjoy a hearty meal, appetizers, at least 2 rounds of drinks and have a bill just under $200.00. The duck lechee and anything extra spicy are must haves. Pros: Price, Atmosphere Cons: Typically crowded and loud more

So disappointing 10/1/2008

Have been going to Spice regularly for years. I couldn't believe how HORRIBLE the delivery I had today was. I ordered the Shrimp Cashew and half of the shrimp were bad, there was a hair in the rice and then I noticed a dead insect. It was one of the worst meals of my life. I called them to let them know in the kitchen and the woman said she can't say anything to them unless she has the insect and hair to show them. I didn't feel like sifting through my garbage at that point. So, I figured I would just warn you to be aware! more

Delicious Thai Food 7/11/2008

I am obsessed with Thai food in general, but Spice is simply amazing. This restaurant is unbelievably cheap, and the food is great! The calamari as an appetizer is the best, 6'oclock train as an entree is delicious, and the whole fish with tamarind sauce is to die for. I've been going here for years, and I've never been disappointed. At night it does get loud, but that's just the scene. If you go for lunch, you can have a quiet meal, and it's usually not as crowded as it is at night. Space is kind of tight, but who cares, the food and the service are wonderful. Waiting time at night is no more than 10-15 minutes. Definitely try this place out once, and I bet you you'll keep on going. Pros: Great food, service, and prices more

My Go-To Thai Place 2/10/2008

I've been going here for years. The food is excellent and the presentation goes beyond your standard Thai restaurants. Even if there are a lot of people waiting for a table, the wait isn't usually longer than 15-20 minutes. They have some interesting cocktails, also presented nicely. The best part is that the cost is the same as any other Thai place in the city (about $8-$10 for an entree, $7-10 per cocktail). Also, it's a bit sexier on the inside than most other restaurants of the same caliber. Pros: awesome Thai at excellent prices Cons: can be a bit loud and hectic at times more

Best Thai Food in the City at the lowest price 1/12/2008

Probably the best Thai food I've ever had... and the cheapest in NYC! I want to come here every day! Pros: EVERYTHING Cons: NOTHING more

Two Words: CURRY PUFFS! 12/31/2007

Great set-up - Very trendy. Located not too far from a train station. Definitely recommend the Curry Puffs. The Drunk Man Noodles was good. Pad Thai was good as well. the Red Curry Chicken was alright. The fresh summer rolls weren't that good. The puffy duck appetizer was not so good. The wait-service was very responsive. Prompt refilling of my cup of water. Only thing is that it is cramped - the wait-service often bumped into my chair due to the lack of space for them to walk in. Pros: Great ambience, CURRY PUFFS!!! Cons: Cramped Seating more
