I can't begin to tell you how much Source Healing has changed my life. I had been going to western doctors for 25 years for my ailments. I have asthma, hay fever, many food allerg...

A Must Do for everyone 4/26/2009

I have been going to Christie Jordan for 8 years. I couldn't recommend anyone more. She has helped me through so many different things from the mundane (work stress, business travel, life changes) to big stuff (sciatica, cancer, fertility). She's a gifted healer that is very down-to-earth and real. She's a professional woman (used to be in banking) that just gets it. She was my first experience with acupunture, and I continue to recommend her to everyone. \r \r I'm continually amazed at her talent and her energy. I feel better even just when I make an appointment....\r \r Whatever you need, Christie will be able to help. This is one call you won't regret. more

Source healing 4/14/2009

I first starting going to Source healing for fertility issues and became pregnant within a couple of months. I am now working on baby # 2. I've worked with both Christie and Brian keenan and they both have changed my way of thinking and helped me deal with stress in a whole different way. True healers and a wonderful experience. It is truly amazing what source healing has done for me and I highly recommend it. Pros: Relieves stress and feel great afterwards more

Best Acupuncture Place in Chicago - A must visit 3/9/2009

My life has completely changed since starting regular weekly acupuncture at Source Healing. The space is welcoming, and warm. The people that work there are extremely nice, thoughful, kind and gentle people. I have learned so much about my body. \r Every week my treatements with Mary Sabo is what I look forward to. I come in every Friday know whatever worries I walk in with I will leave without. She has helped me with managing stress, IBS, anxiety, depression, changing my diet, weight loss, back pain and migraines, \r I cannot imagine life without her. She keeps me together and calm in the midst of this stressful and crazy world. more

Bliss! 2/19/2009

I was new to acupuncture when I first went to Mary. She worked her magic and now I can?t imagine life without her. She?s great at targeting particular issues (neck pain, joint pain, headaches and sleeping problems) or issues as general as stress and overall well being. \r \r I went to see Mary this past week and told her how stressful work had been and was overriding all my other ailments. I?m not sure what magic she worked, but I walked out of there feeling absolutely blissful. I?m still telling everyone about how great I feel. I also don?t think it?s any coincidence that I got pregnant right after I started seeing Mary. Fertility is one of her specialties, so beware if you tell her you?re ?trying? ;) \r \r I can?t say enough nice things about Mary and the other staff I?ve met at Source Healing. I would recommend them in a heartbeat. Pros: Ambience, peacefulness, warm reception from staff more

A Truly Healing Environment 2/6/2009

A friend recommended that I see Mary Sabo at Source Healing and I have come to treasure the healing aspects of both the space and Mary's gentle, positive, and warm influence. I've learned so much about treating myself (physically and emotionally) with respect and care and that there are alternatives to traditional medications that can treat symptoms but not necessarily the root cause. I have never been much of a medicine taker, so it has been wonderful to find that acupuncture can treat everything from chronic conditions to the common cold. \r \r Mary is a fantastic listener and, unlike my medical doctor, gives attention to any issue that I bring to her. Most importantly, she almost always has an answer or explanation for any symptom. Acupuncture is relaxing and restorative and I can't believe that I did not try it sooner. I cannot say enough about Mary and the team at Source Healing. more

Finally...needles that aren't scary 10/2/2008

I have to preface this post by saying two things:\r \r 1) I have bad back problems\r 2) I am uncomfortable with massages \r \r Kind of a bad situation, wouldn't you say? I'm the kind that would be more apt for a double whiskey and 3 Advil instead of a massage, especially one with needles involved. \r So when some people recommended I go to Source Healing after I threw my back out (again), I wasn't sure what to expect. \r I figured I'd be in for another quick fix type of treatment, but I was really wrong. \r During my consultation, it was recommended that I get acupuncture, which made me kind of nervous. A massage and needles? What did I get myself into....\r \r However, after a treatment by Christie, I must confess, I'm a changed man.\r Christie was really helpful in working with my anxiety toward the whole experience, and after about a 30 min treatment there was a drastic improvement; I was able to sit up for the first time in a week without people looking at me asking ""Are you alright?"" It was great.\r If you suffer from any type of general pain (especially lower back) that can't be treated by anything other than pain killers, I highly recommend Source Healing.\r The best part is I've been pain free since my appointment. I still like whiskey though; just glad I don't have to drink it for ""medicinal"" purposes anymore. \r \r \r more

The BEST mind/body healing EVER!!! 8/16/2008

When a friend recommended that I see Christie Jordan for infertility and the emotional stress that comes with struggling to conceive, I had no idea the extent to which Christie's treatments would deeply affect and change my life. I begn seeing Christie before beginning my fifth and final attempt at IVF (all other attempts had been unsuccessful and doctors had given me less than 30% chance of ever conceiving). Christie taught me to release all of the stress, anxiety, anger, and heartache that I had so deeply bottled up inside. She taught me how to use visualization and meditation as a way to relax and find balance and peace. After each treatment session I began to feel an internal shift in both my mind and body. I began to feel liberated and at peace with myself. It came as a complete shock and surprise to everyone (doctors, family, friends) when I became pregnant with twins...everyone but Christie and even me. I had learned to believe in myself and my body and see this long lived dream come true. I truly believe that Christie was put on this earth to heal. I have often referred to her as an angel sent down from heaven. What sets Christie apart from most other acupuncturists is the mind/body approach she takes with clients. She has this incredible gift to heal people's emotions and help them find that balance and harmony that we all need to be content, happy, and well. She gave me the tools I needed to carry out these healing practices in my daily life at home. Practices I still use today! I am eternally grateful to Christie for teaching me to believe in myself and helping me find that mind/body balance I needed to move forward in life. I am constantly reminded of how much Christie and her treatments changed and affected my life. All I have to do is look at my five month old twin boys and think to myself...life doesn't get any better than this! Give yourself the greatest gift and schedule an appointment with Christie. She is truly the best! Pros: friendly, emapthetic staff, relaxing atmosphere, excellent care Cons: pricey but worth every penny! more

undeniable fertility results with acupuncture 7/8/2008

I had 2 miscarriages before I contacted Christie Jordan at Source Healing in September 2007. I wanted to try something alternative before I ventured down the road of costly hormone medications with an endocrinologist. I am so grateful I did. Christie was able to ascertain why I was having difficulty carrying fetuses to term. After just 4 treatments, I became pregnant and am due September 1st.. Acupuncture is ENTIRELY responsible for my pregnancy. I continue to see Christie on a monthly basis and it has helped relieve my stress & nerves (esp. in the beginning of the pregnancy). I retain this buoyancy and energy a day and a half after a session and I just love it. Christie herself is very calming and intuitive. (She even told me my baby's gender weeks into my pregnancy!) She's an expert at what she does and a wonderful person to have in your corner. I recommend her to all my friends (even those not facing fertility challenges). Pros: expert treatment, caring practitioner, friendly staff more

Best Healing Center for Accupunture & Holistic Healing 5/3/2008

I find Source Healing to be the best Acupuncture I have received over the last 4 years of getting acupuncture. I love working with my acupuncturist Mary Sabo. Mary is always calm and takes the time to listen to my various issues. Some of my more chronic complaints are in now control and I am improving every day. I am also off a medication that I have relied on for 5 years and am in no need for any longer!\r \r Mary also specializes in Herbs and mixes me up a tailored mix of herbs for me when I go based on my symptoms that week. Source Healing is a very calm and relaxing place to heal and get back in balance.\r \r I am a huge fan and can not say enough! Pros: relaxing atmosphere, quality service, highly trained practioners more

Christie Jordan rules. 4/26/2008

Christie Jordan is a highly gifted healer of the first class, and with Source Healing she captains a tight ship beyond compare. She is by far the best acupuncturist I have ever come across, and I have done a bit of shopping about in the healing arts. Whether massage, energy work, chiropractic work, acupuncture or otherwise I recommend Source Healing above all other Chicago destinations. Forget your psychiatrist, Christie can guide one through any strains on mind, body, and spirit, and she has a sense of humor. A soft touch, and a good sense of humor can?t be beat. Well worth the expense. If you haven?t tried acupuncture, then go see Christie. If you have tried it and found it missing the mark, then go to Christie. Pros: Source Healing is the best Cons: It's not located in China - so you must pay in American dollars. more

Hands down, the BEST acupuncturist! 4/12/2008

I began seeing Christie at Source Healing several years ago, after my physician recommended acupuncture to help treat my unexplained infertility. I, like many who have sought acupunctures as treatment, was a bit of a skeptic. It didn't take long, however, for Christie to win me over. I was, by all accounts, a tough case for Christie. By the time she began treating me, I was undergoing what would be my 4th unsuccessful IVF and beginning treatment out of state. I can honestly say, that if not for Chrisite, I would not be where I am today. There is not a doubt in my mind that she had everything to do with my eventual success (I now have 2 children)...but more than that, Christie became a friend to me. A therapist of sorts, with whom I looked forward to each of my weekly visits with. She guided me far beyond the treatment room, making recommendations of books for me to read, diet changes to consider, and new eyes with which to view my then situation. She taught me to start believing in myself...and, in the end, to heal from within. There isn't enough space for me to write all of the wonderful things I would like about Christie and her practice. Just take it from me...she is amazing! more

Amazing Alternative 3/14/2008

I went to Christy Jordan 2 yrs ago to induce labor with my daughter. I was 1 week overdue and the Dr. wanted to induce with pitocin. Well, after seeing Christy, my water broke that night, and I had a happy healthy baby girl the next day without the hospital version of induction. This week I went to her because my 2nd child in utero was in a ""breach"" postion (not head down like she should be at 37 weeks). Christy used ""moxibustion"" to encourage the baby to get head down...and guess what? It worked! AND..my insurance covers 80% of the cost! How cool is that? I am a big fan of Christy and her staff. They fit me in to their schedule the day I called, and are a pleasure to be with. I think Acupuncture is just so powerful and energizing and becoming a reliable alternative to western medicine. My Dr. even recomended it! Pros: Comfortable enviornment, effetive treatments more

Intuitive, caring, the best! 2/28/2008

Christie Jordan rocks she has treated me for the last 2 years for chronic back pain and stress related to my job as a TV news video journalist. Christie is in tune with my pain and how to successfully treat it. If you are new to acupuncture don't be afraid of the needles (it is no big deal) I have referred my friends & family to Christie. She is by far the best & most caring practitioner I have encountered. The office environment is very relaxing and everyone on her staff is wonderful. Pros: Location more

I love this place 2/19/2008

I found Source Healing just by searching around online, and I'm so happy that I did. I have been seeing the acupuncturists there, including Christie Jordan and Mary Sabo, for more than a year now, and I could not be happier with the effect on my physical and mental balance. They both possess a fun, approachable demeanor while at the same time being extremely professional. They clearly have strong beliefs about Chinese medicine but are not dogmatic about it and are willing to work with you whatever your feelings are. They also do a good job working with whatever you might be doing with a traditional Western doc as well. In addition to the acupuncture itself, the herbal remedies and dietary recommendations can be amazingly effective.\r \r The space itself is very calming and soothing, and everyone who works there is super nice, making for a truly pleasant experience. Highly recommended! Pros: effective treatments, easygoing practitioners, beautiful space Cons: parking more

Anah McMahon turned a skeptic into a believer 6/12/2007

I was introduced to Source Healing when I saw Christie Jordon on a morning news program talking about Chinese treatments. She invited viewers to stop by Source Healing for a free consultation. As I had been suffering from terrible sinus and digestive issues, I figured it was worth an initial visit. OTC medicines and doctor presribed medicines were either leaving me light headed, sleepy, or having no effect. I was uncertain whether acupuncture would help me, but I was somewhat desperate and so I made the call.\r \r Christie referred me to Anah McMahon for treatment. My first visit with Anah involved more dialogue than I had ever had with any of my MD's. She did not just want to find out what was ailing me (sinus, digestion), but what could be possibly causing the issues I was having. The conversation delved into diet, work life, home life, physical issues. \r \r After the first accupuncture treatment, I walked home and felt as though I had just had the most relaxing massage in ages! I noticed that, the next morning, my sinus issues were greatly improved. I continued to see Anah for several more treatments, and noticed that my overall well-being was greatly improved: sinus issues and digestive issues dissappeared. While the two items that I went for treatment were ""cured"", I could not have anticipated the changes in my overall feeling of well being. During one of my treatments, my sinuses had so much pressure, I thought my head was going to explode. By the end of the treatment, all pain and pressure had been eliminated. This cemented my belief in the healing and curative powers of accupuncture.\r \r Anah's skill and wonderful manner were a winning combination for me. I have recommended her to several colleagues and friends - no better testament to the wonderful care received by her! more

Anah is wonderful! 3/9/2007

I started seeing Anah for acupuncture to treat my infertility issues. After over a year of trying to get pregnant, and seeing a fertility specialist for six months, I decided I needed something to help me relax and help me to feel more centered. From the moment you walk in, you are instantly relaxed. Anah was very attentive and supportive, taking down my long history and working with my individual needs everytime, like a headache, stress or just feeling blue. She also gave me breathing exercises to do at home and some herbs to help with some sleeping problems. Although I kept on with the fertility treatments and finally ended up with injectable hormones and IUI, I truly believe that Anah and the acupuncture was a big part in helping me to get pregnant, which I finally am! I would highly recommend Anah for anyone struggling with infertility.\r Suzanne more

Best acupuncture in the world! 1/11/2007

Eliminated back pain in just 1 visit ( doctors & physical therapists couldn't relieve the pain during 2 months of treatment). Now that I am pain free, I go just for fun. This is the place for the best acupuncture in Chicago and the world! Pros: everything here is a pro more

Wonderful experience... 9/25/2006

I was referred to Anah McMahon through an acupuncturist at Northwestern, for the purpose of trying to coax my breech baby to turn to the correct position for delivery so I could avoid a scheduled c-section. I am an MD myself and had never tried acupuncture, but was open to the idea of it since I had seen some compelling literature about it, and I figured it was much less invasive than my alternatives! My OB had mentioned acupuncture in passing, but noted that at my gestation, the chances of the baby turning were less than 30%.\r \r My experience at Source Healing with Anah was great, the environment is very relaxing and positive. Sure enough, after three days of treatment, the baby turned. I am absolutely thrilled and will consider returning to Anah for treatment of other issues in the future if they should arise! Highly recommended. more

Incredible Experience of a Former Skeptic 6/7/2006

I went to Christie after 12 years of migraine suffering, including months where I suffered from 1-2 migraines each day, every day, despite being on preventative medication. Over the years, I've been on more medications to prevent and relieve migraines than I can count! Physical therapy -- recommended by my doctor -- failed to help. I went to see Christie based on the reviews I read on this site and I will admit that I was quite skeptical that it would work. After eight treatments, I am experiencing significant relief! I am off of migraine medication for the first time in 12 years and have not had a full-blown migraine in more than a month. I was concerned about seeing results for the money I needed to invest in acupuncture -- for anyone in this same boat: Go for it! Visiting Chrisitie was the best health-related decision I've ever made. more

Anah McMahon - an angel that works magic! 5/17/2006

I saw Anah for accupuncture treatment for a sciatica problem. Under her care I experienced exceptional healing. She was knowledgable, intitutive and compassionate. She really listens and after each visit I felt an incredible sense of calm and wellness. This is a calming oasis in Chicago and a place I will return to again and again. Pros: exceptional healing, positive energy, compassionate care more
