DO NOT BUY FROM THIS BUILDER, unless you are an experienced home owner, home builder, lawyer, or Congressman. They focus on first time buyers because they don't want buyers that understand the process, and know what standards to expect. We purchased a "custom home" from Robbie Hale in 2003, and have had problems with a leaky drain pipe in the wall, uneven grading, sink holes where the yard wasn't backfilled properly after plumbing, windows that rattle, windows that are very hard to open from day one, a door jamb that was out of square from day one, poor crooked tile work in the bathroom, and have replaced the air conditioning compressor plus Freon 3 different times, the first time the parts (only) were covered under warranty, the other two we did on our own. The driveway has pulled away from the garage about 3 inches, and the foundation is sinking on one corner of the house, and lifting on the other corner. We owe 99k on our home after 12 years, and we couldn't sell it for 50k, due to the fact that it needs 40k in foundation repair, and new windows, and a new AC. Oh and there are nails popping out of the walls and ceiling. Who uses nails for ceiling drywall. This builder does not supervise each project, and they use low bid subcontractors that couldn't give a damn about your investment. BUYER BEWARE. We should have about 50k in equity by now, and instead we have about negative 40k. The builder fought us EVERY STEP OF THE WAY, all while my wife and I held down full time jobs, with two small children. Who do you think has more time and resources to win that fight. If we are ever able to sell, and get out from under this curse we will only uses rental properties from here on out. We had hoped to pay the home off, and have something of value to leave our kids, but no chance of that happening now. Robbie Hale should feel damn lucky that I never went off the deep end through all of this.
