Still waiting for them to fix their MAJOR mess up on making the floorplan that IS IN OUR CONTRACT. I will change my review if they correct the floorplan on our contract but as of today they have not offered to make it right. Please read all of the reviews you see for this builder. The salesman that I am working with is too busy taking "vacations" every other week and is the most arrogant salesman I've ever met. He'll tell you he's just the builder but trust me he's the salesman and an awful one at that. The owner is no different except he's not arrogant, he just hides and blames the problems with the homes on others. But ultimately he's the owner and is responsible. I am in the process of having a house built and it has been a problem from day one. We picked out our lot and house and then the salesman comes back and says the house was too long and we had to choose another house that was wider and a little bigger but not as long, so we did AND IT'S IN OUR CONTRACT! Luckily I took pictures of the floorplan that the salesman gave me and said would be the exact floorplan. So being myself and wanting to make sure everything was going as planned and they were being on the up-and-up I asked for a copy of "our" actual floorplan and lo-and-behold they took it upon themselves to make the floorplan and all rooms much smaller AND WITHOUT TELLING ME, I had to find out on my own while doing MY due diligence. I have been trying to get them to work with me on getting another lot to build the HOUSE THAT IS ON OUR CONTRACT and they say they have no more lots where I want to be and offered an apology and a miniscule amount of credit for THEIR MAJOR SCREW UP! I even tried to work with them on completely upgrading my much smaller house in exchange for this significant screw up and they wouldn't even do that! What they really did was make my house smaller thinking I would not notice, because they found out they could sell them for more. But what they didn't realize is I had my own financing and Real Estate agent working for me and I really pay close attention to detail. I really didn't listen to the reviews and you are probably thinking "they won't do that to me" like I remember thinking. Well you are wrong, THEY WILL, TRUST ME more

DO NOT TRUST THESE GUYS 6/21/2017

In 2012 I answered to ad concerning a home in Rowlett. I didn't have much time to locate a place to stay with my family having a voucher with the Dallas Housing Authority. I asked when doing their application about work orders being was an issue with other properties. I was promised it wouldn't be an issue because the home was located not far from home office. I got an approval to move in but once I got the keys I couldn't. The house was swamped with horse flies. They would send someone to spray and also take care of the issue I saw including the yard. The back yard was filled with sharp objects we didn't see until walking the yard and the grass not being able to keep hidden what your walking over. It was also told to me by the locals when the police started showing up the previous tenants son's were involved in criminal activity. It also explained the sharp object that they never sent anyone out to clean. My work orders were ignored including things eating into the wall of the home and a trash can being nailed to ceiling for over a month to catch it. The home didn't have a cover over the fireplace on roof. I had to call animal control to remove birds and squirrels out the home. Before I moved two squirrels had fallen in the wall and they refused to do anything about it. I went and got two dogs because they would send guys weeks after work order. Also if the older gentleman that did maintenance Bernie couldn't fix something they didn't care who they sent. One day a guy show up and my kids were home. I explained between work and school there's plenty of time I may not be home is a reason for the notice. Well this guy is mad he's twisting the knob and scaring my kids. He in return gives me a call something he should have done in the first place yelling. I explained he would not be let in until I made it to my home. Well the dogs cost me 600 in deposit money or be put out. My dad paid it. I ended up moving and got the home to look a lot better than it did when I moved in. They refused a walk thru and deposit too more

Problem after problem. 4/7/2015

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS BUILDER, unless you are an experienced home owner, home builder, lawyer, or Congressman. They focus on first time buyers because they don't want buyers that understand the process, and know what standards to expect. We purchased a "custom home" from Robbie Hale in 2003, and have had problems with a leaky drain pipe in the wall, uneven grading, sink holes where the yard wasn't backfilled properly after plumbing, windows that rattle, windows that are very hard to open from day one, a door jamb that was out of square from day one, poor crooked tile work in the bathroom, and have replaced the air conditioning compressor plus Freon 3 different times, the first time the parts (only) were covered under warranty, the other two we did on our own. The driveway has pulled away from the garage about 3 inches, and the foundation is sinking on one corner of the house, and lifting on the other corner. We owe 99k on our home after 12 years, and we couldn't sell it for 50k, due to the fact that it needs 40k in foundation repair, and new windows, and a new AC. Oh and there are nails popping out of the walls and ceiling. Who uses nails for ceiling drywall. This builder does not supervise each project, and they use low bid subcontractors that couldn't give a damn about your investment. BUYER BEWARE. We should have about 50k in equity by now, and instead we have about negative 40k. The builder fought us EVERY STEP OF THE WAY, all while my wife and I held down full time jobs, with two small children. Who do you think has more time and resources to win that fight. If we are ever able to sell, and get out from under this curse we will only uses rental properties from here on out. We had hoped to pay the home off, and have something of value to leave our kids, but no chance of that happening now. Robbie Hale should feel damn lucky that I never went off the deep end through all of this. more

Overpriced, cheap quality construction 4/14/2013

Bought twice from Robbie Hale. Each time a disappointment, but nothing like the second time. Brick mortar issues (white mortar ordered, but they screwed it up and got red instead. Very sloppy mortar job.) Plumbing issues (couldn't take a hot shower or bath in a new house, go figure. Oh, and one pipe shut off value built too close to the pipe to be able to turn. How did that pass state inspection?) Electrical issues (found some unwired plug outlets, plus a switch kept throwing when trying to run AC) AC issues (They used the cheapest south-of-the-border unit they could. Repairs have cost me more than the unit. Years of issues. Also, one bedroom still doesn't get cold AC airflow to it.) Landscaping (hardly any. Had to get on them to finish laying grass for the front yard. Nothing in the back, just loose earth and weeds.) Undersized garage (couldn't park a full size Toyota Tundra in it. Guess I'm out of luck during hail storms) Fairly steep pricing for out-in-the-country location ($80/square foot or thereabouts in 2006 for ho hum location) Warranty issues (I submitted a list and hardly anything ever addressed) Bottom line is they just want your cash. And any concern you bring up to them, they'll just B.S. away; you wouldn't believe the excuses they gave me on why not to fix something. I would never use this builder again and VERY, VERY strongly recommend against it. And someday, when I sell my house "as is" (because that's probably the only way I'm going to unload it), I'm going to rent a billboard in I30, center of Rockwall, and put pictures of the build quality of my home on it and note who it was built by, because the city to see what kind of builder this is. more
