In 2012 I answered to ad concerning a home in Rowlett. I didn't have much time to locate a place to stay with my family having a voucher with the Dallas Housing Authority. I asked when doing their application about work orders being was an issue with other properties. I was promised it wouldn't be an issue because the home was located not far from home office. I got an approval to move in but once I got the keys I couldn't. The house was swamped with horse flies. They would send someone to spray and also take care of the issue I saw including the yard. The back yard was filled with sharp objects we didn't see until walking the yard and the grass not being able to keep hidden what your walking over. It was also told to me by the locals when the police started showing up the previous tenants son's were involved in criminal activity. It also explained the sharp object that they never sent anyone out to clean. My work orders were ignored including things eating into the wall of the home and a trash can being nailed to ceiling for over a month to catch it. The home didn't have a cover over the fireplace on roof. I had to call animal control to remove birds and squirrels out the home. Before I moved two squirrels had fallen in the wall and they refused to do anything about it. I went and got two dogs because they would send guys weeks after work order. Also if the older gentleman that did maintenance Bernie couldn't fix something they didn't care who they sent. One day a guy show up and my kids were home. I explained between work and school there's plenty of time I may not be home is a reason for the notice. Well this guy is mad he's twisting the knob and scaring my kids. He in return gives me a call something he should have done in the first place yelling. I explained he would not be let in until I made it to my home. Well the dogs cost me 600 in deposit money or be put out. My dad paid it. I ended up moving and got the home to look a lot better than it did when I moved in. They refused a walk thru and deposit too
