Run Away!\r Dropped my Lawnmower off after calling to ask how long the service would take. Was told 2 weeks, so I figured not a problem. I then called back after a week because they had not called with the estimate. I was told at that point that they hadn't even looked at it because they have been running two weeks behind (now will take 4 weeks even thought they said two weeks) but they would have something for me by the next Tuesday (3 days). I waited another week and called at which point I was told that although it wasn't done, it would be by Tuesday/Wednesday of the next week ""Guaranteed"". Arrived to pick it up the next Saturday to find that they hadn't begun working on it, Complained loudly, and was told that they would have it soon (sure!) Called the next week and was told it would be done end of the week. Showed up to pick it up and was told that they go the wrong part and that they had it on order, would be 4 more days. Was promised a discount and when I picked it up no one knew what I was talking about, so no discount.\r \r Cost of repair $130 plus the $28 to rent a lawnmower during the 5 weeks it took to do the the two week job they promised not to mention the horrible customer service and no communication.\r \r Go anywhere else! more

This is real review that I've posted on other sites. I am spreading it out to make sure this guy loses business for being a jerk. Avoid this place like the plague unless you are looking for a fist fight. This morning the owner (a short man with a mustache called Dave) called me ""a punk"" and ""a boy"" and also ""a punk boy"" and GOT IN MY FACE! He was seconds from felonious assault and staring me down over a freakin' lawn mower he'd said would be fixed by the time I arrived. Wow!...this guy has some anger issues! He did so simply because I had the audacity to ask for my mower back (unfixed) after nearly 2 months of poor treatment on the phone (interrupting, long hold time, and talking down,) excuses with promises to follow up, zero follow up, & altogether AWFUL customer service. They strung me along for 7 weeks with zero progress. So after being told it would be ready by Tuesday, I showed up on Saturday to find it not fixed. The guy blew up just for my asking for it back. He exclaimed that ""he didn't sell me that Husqvaurna mower"" Well, dingleberry, do you fix mowers or not? You sure accepted it and took my deposit 7 weeks back without flinching. Check out the other reviews, he's a brand snob which is silly considering he's basically Sling Blade. Please read and believe the other reviews about this place. The guy treats you like a rube and a nuisance. He doesn't care about your business and should you complain about his nonsense/incompetence, be prepared to be insulted and possibly need to physically defend yourself. They are incompetent to fix your mower and ignorant of the fact that in an age of online reviews for everything, treating your customers poorly will affect your top and bottom lines. There's a reason why this store is empty on a Saturday in spring. Check his competition, they are packed! more

I would have ti CONTRADICT the PREVIOUS reviewer & say I agree with the first reviewer! I took my blower & head trimmer about a week & a half ago! I have called various time and they say it isn't ready! I took it for a reason because I needed it fixed not put in storage. Now they are saying it will be another week & a half more!?!?!?!?! When i dropped my things off they had assured me it would be no more then one week.... Now what!?! I'm sorry but who ever thinks these people have great service must be someone hired to write a positive review! Pros: none I can think of Cons: Takes a LOOOONNNG time to give things back! more

Sorry to contradict the previous reviewer, but I've never had anything but superb service from Severna Lawn and Power. I've been bringing all of my equipment there since the mid 90's. With a growing Landscaping company, you can imagine the amount of business I've done there. The management is extremely knowledgable and covers all their bases. The first time I got a machine back with a number ""scrawled"" on it they informed me that sometimes those so called secure ribbons get ripped off and for the sake of the customers getting their machines back they right it on there. It comes off with a solvent by the way. Great business, fair prices and an accurate time frame are the only experiences I've ever walked away with. Pros: Awesome service. Fair prices. Great Staff Cons: Other customers ignorant to lawn equipment repairs. more

You'll regret doing business there 9/28/2008

They are definite rip-offs. Took my push mower there to get repair, didn't feel like doing it myself, even though I could. Dropped it off with the non refundable 20 dollar fee. Told the kid behind the counter I had replaced the plug, put in a new airfilter, and cleaned the carb, but no luck. He said 1 week, maybe 2. Three weeks later, I called, they said probably next week they would get to it, rudely. Called the next week, guy said he would check. Called back the next day and told me it would be an additional 107 dollars! I said no way, whole new carbs are only $26, and take 10 mins to do. He said they would then charge me and additional $22 or keep my mower, because they had replace the plug, air filter, and oil! They were all brand new when dropped off! Had to pay to get it back though. Manager Dave was not there on pick-up, so no one to complain to, although he did say on the phone they had to get ""what's fair"". So here's what their ""fair deal"" cost me: One month with no mower - had to pay the neighbor kid twice ($80) to do my lawn while that sat on it. $42 dollars to replace parts I already did, and give the sage advice of replacing the carb. Great troubleshooting! Why not just say replace the whole mower! On top of that, they scrawled a five-digit number on my deck in permanent marker, even though there was a secure ribbon with the same number on the handle. They have no respect for customer property or needs. Then have the nerve to hold your mower hostage until you pay them for doing absolutely nothing! Rude, incapable, slow, and condescending. If they don't want to do push mowers, they shouldn't accept them. If I could give them negative stars, I would. I'm not the only one either; after I dropped it off, I looked up there number online and saw a rip-off report. Should've known then. I hope they enjoy my hard-earned money while I have to now buy a new carb and do it myself. You'll regret going there, I certainly did. Pros: not one Cons: will take your money for nothing in return. Cons indeed! more
