Editorial review from Citysearch 8/9/2012

I LOVE Sephora, but not the employees. You cannot call yourself a beauty consultant if you don't know the first thing about beauty. There is a large male who works there who wears foundation. First of all, his foundation is terrible. It sits on top of his skin like an ashy mask. I would never go with any recommendations from someone who cannot distinguish colors themselves. His techniques are terrible and his color recommendations are hideous. The other employees are similar in expertise. As a former make-up artist, I am much better trying things out for myself. I love the sample availability at Sephora and the store itself is wonderful. They just need to can their entire staff. more

THE CRABTREE SEPHORA STORE IS AMAZING!! 4/5/2009

First of all, whoever wrote this nonsense about rude people working at Sephora is horrible. The staff is amazing! A very popular store like that gets very crowded and the staff tries so hard to please everyone. They have various amounts of different brands and they give you samples nonstop. I spend a lot of money at that store and I'm there practically every week. They have fragrances from wall to wall and have lots of skincare and makeup products to choose from. The staff give me so many different samples to try. I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS STORE!!!! Pros: the STAFF are very knowledgable, helpful, and professional. more

See Pat O-N-L-Y 4/3/2009

Please...if you go to Sephora, NEVER speak with anyone but Pat. Don't even call if you aren't sure she is there. The rest of the employees are terrible. I went in looking for help with oily skin, and was ignored for probably 15 minutes. I finally approached a male with dark hair, who was working in the store. He seemed irritated and bothered by the fact that he had been approached. I explained my issue. Before showing me any product, he asked what cosmetics I currently use. Some are cheap, some are expensive. When he heard the list, he literally walked away from me without saying anything. Pat finally found me wandering around in the back of the store, and helped me immensely. She listened, then described several products which she thought would be of use. She gave me samples to try, and told me to call or come in should I need further assistance. She is a retired aesthetician, by the way, and really knows her stuff. Today I decided to check in to see when Pat would be available for further consultation, as I have decided which products (from the samples) to purchase. The person answering the phone was VERY unprofessional, did not want to tell me when Pat was working, asked me what I wanted with her, would not give her own name...the entire staff, in my experience, save for Pat, is just HORRIBLE. There are tons of people who would make up for what I would spend in that store, and assuredly would spend more money in there than I could, but if you value your dollar AT ALL, please see Pat for any future needs at Sephora. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH ANYONE ELSE. Pros: Pat is great. Very professional, knowledgable and helpful. Cons: ***EXCEPT FOR PAT***...horrible horrible cust service more

THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS TERRIBLE 1/13/2009

My friend told me about this great store and how their products could really help my skin. The first time I went into the Crabtree Store during the week in the evening, I did not have a great customer service experience. The store is great and they have a lot great products, but trying to tolerate those rude and snobby people has ruined my whole experience. They couldn't tell me what type of products I should use for my skin and it was like I was interupting them when all I needed was some guidence in choosing the right skincare products for me. \r I went back a second time during the weekend and had better luck with a woman named Pat that actually knew what she was talking about she helped me. I tried a sample of the DDF products and I saw results within a week. I was interested in buying the bottles, but I wanted to make sure I didn't need anything else. \r I went back in a third time and Pat wasn't available and it went back to terrible service and I still haven't purchased the necessary products. I am going to try the Sephora at South Point Mall in Durham to see if I have better luck because I can not take their rudeness any longer especially if I am going to spend a lot of money in their store. Pros: THE PRODUCTS SHOW QUICK RESULTS, HAS JUST ABOUT EVERY BEAUTY PRODUCT YOU COULD THINK OF Cons: CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE WASN'T THE BEST, ALSO THEY'RE EXPENSIVE more

I love having a Sephora at Crabtree 10/26/2006

I can't go in this place unless I have some $ to spend! It's like being in a candy shop. The sales staff always has the best suggestions and the amount of products they carry is amazing. I always used to shop online, but being able to go in and try the products out is so great, especially their extensive perfume selection for both men and women. more

Get glam 5/19/2002

I'm a true Sephora addict. The first few times I visited the store, I wandered around the aisles and let the colors/products/prices intimidate me ($15 for lip gloss?!)--but it didn't take long before I was sampling and sniffing and fearlessly buying beauty products that were just too cute to pass up. I guarantee you'll do the same. One additional note: If you buy a gift for someone, you can have it wrapped in some sassy red paper. The sales associate might toss in a few free perfume samples for you, too. Pros: Hard-to-find products Cons: Expensive more
