I just had the most amazing experience at Sedona Spa! I dont have a lot of extra cash to spend to treat myself but every now and then I just have to splurge! I got myself the Fabulous Facial and an 80 minutes massage! The most relaxing day of my life! Sharon the massage therapist truly has a magic touch, gently getting out all of the knots and tension in my over worked muscles. I hadnt planned to sit in the infra red sauna but when I got there it just sounded too good to pass up. Between the facial and the sauna I left glowing... I had people comment on how great I looked all week! Thank you Sedona Spa for giving me the best spa experience EVER!! Pros: Infra Red Sauna Cons: Does perfection have cons? more

Best Massage, Best Gift 5/2/2009

My husband bought me a gift certificate here for our anniversary. This time very proudly announcing he picked Sedona because they were the "Best Massage in Dallas and have special newfangled Saunas." Not sure how your man is, but mine is a notorious last minute gifter so I pretty much get a gift certificate for some sort of spa treatment for every bday, mother's day, etc. and I've never requested he re-buy at a certain spa because I've always felt there was still something better and wanted to keep trying until I found it. Well now for the 1st time, I have instructed him that this Mother's Day my ?surprise? gift certificate MUST be from Sedona because everything about my experience there was so wonderful. Their reception staff was adorable and helpful and on the phone, staying on the line w/me until I found the parking garage, then even more adorable in person. As soon as I walked in, everyone was all smiles and I was pleasantly surprised when the owner came out to greet me, warmly shook my hand and then personally walked me down the hall chatting w/ me like she?s known me for years. I?ve never experienced that level of personal attention in any spa before. Everyone made me feel special. The massage was AMAZING. Best Deep Tissue massage I?ve ever had. She was so strong and worked all my kinks out with total expertise yet it was still very relaxing. (I?ve had deep tissue massages before that just hurt and didn?t fix my issues at all). After the massage, they handed me a wrap and a bottle of water and put me in their sauna. All I can say is WOW. Way better then a steam room and very different. It was comfortable, not too hot at all, but I seemed to sweat more. Loved it. Can't wait to go back! Pros: Great Services, Adorable Staff Cons: No cons more

HANDS DOWN THE BEST PLACE FOR A MASSAGE!!! 4/26/2009

When you walk through the door you will feel at complete ease, from your first or second sip of wine your worries will wash away, and if that's not enough get your massage done by DIONNE, and you may never want to leave. The staff is just wonderful, smiles when you walk through the door. The massage therapist knew without skipping a beat what I needed. She did ask questions, and was knowledgeable about her job. Skillful doesn't even come close to explaining how wonderful this therapist is. I truly felt like a new person, so much so, that I plan on running away from home and escaping to Sedona as much as possible. IF YOU LADIE OUT THERE ARE SMART YOU'LL COME JOIN ME!!!!!!! Pros:BEST SPA SERVICES Cons:LIKE I SAID BEST SPA SERVICES, WHAT CONS! Pros: IF I COULD GIVE MORE STARS I WOULD, JUST THE BEST!!!! Cons: PLEASE READ ABOVE STATEMENT!! more

I was very excited to go to Sedona Spa. I had a friend in from out of town and we wanted a good massage and facial. I read all the reviews and decided to give it a shot since their facial was cheaper than some of the other nice places. The experience was sub-par considering how much they do charge. The worst was during my massage, my massage therapist was TEXTING ON HER PHONE!! She was massaging my leg with one hand and kept texting. She did it 3 times. I am appalled at the professionalism! I have never been to a spa where they take the fact that you are spending $100 so lightly. I do not recommend this place! Pros: Example: best croissants in town Cons: texting during massage! more

Best Gift I've Ever Gotten! 12/15/2008

I got a gift certificate for my birthday this year. I hadnt heard of Sedona before, but was excited to go to the spa! I am a student so it's not something I could afford to do on my own. When I called to book my appointment they were very helpful and friendly, and even offered for me to call back the day of my appointment to help me navigate my way through downtown (I'm not from Dallas). I was happily surprised at how easy they were to find and that they validated my parking. It was such an enjoyable, and relaxing experience that I've already put their gift certificates on my gift wish list for next year! Thank you Sedona! Pros: Friendly Staff!! more

Had the "Fabulous Facial" and LOVED it 12/15/2008

I just had the most awesome facial at Sedona. I usually visit a spa monthly that is closer to my house, but I received this visit as a gift from a client. It was appropriately called the "Fabulous" facial and its so very relaxing. Matter of fact, when it was over and time for me to get up and get dressed, I actually fell asleep. I had their newest esthetician Jennifer who was very knowledgeable and had great technique. She even massaged my scalp and brushed my hair. The best part for me was the foot scrub with massage. I have already booked my appointment at Sedona for next month as they have completely won me over. Pros: Cushy Robes more

I've been coming to Sedona and using the Sauna for a while now, and just absolutely LOVE it!! I've always had sinus and seasonal allergy problems, but using the sauna on a regular basis has almost completely cleared it up! I feel better, I have more energy, and I'm losing weight!! What more can a girl ask for!! I would absolutely recommend Sedona to anyone who enjoys a positive environment, and is looking for an awesome spa experience! Pros: Parking is easy for downtown! Cons: Nothing!! more

Best Bikini Wax I've ever had 11/25/2008

mintyfresh86 Provided by Partner
I've gotten bikini waxes before but this was my very first brazilian bikini wax and I was a little nervous, but because it was Sedona Spa it turned out to be the best wax I've ever gotten. Jennifer was WONDERFUL and professional in every way. She was friendly, she put me very at ease and made me very comfortable, she was extremely good at waxing, she pulled the strips very taut and very quickly so it was surprisingly not as painful at all as any of the waxes I've gotten in the past, and she did a great job of getting ALL the hair that I wanted gone. Plus, I was skeptical at first but it is true that their wax does not stick to your skin so it won't tug in unpleasant ways. Also, I have very sensitive skin that gets irritated and bruises easily, prone to ingrown hairs and the little red "razor" burn bumps so it usually takes a few days for the redness or any irritation to go away but with this wax there was barely any of that at all on the very same day that I had it done, it was fantastic. And the cream they offer to put on it afterward to prevent irritation is also a very high quality product that works well. Absolutely worth every penny, best brazilian bikini wax and best bikini wax in the dallas area, period. I would recommend this to anyone. more

My husband sent me to Sedona Spa with a personalized birthday gift certificate he designed for me himself (loved it!) Everyone there is very real and there is this really good happy energy there that instantly surrounds you as soon as you walk in. I am a huge spa junkie who while always enjoying myself on my spa visits around Dallas has never really received what I consider to be the ultimate massage. Massages are always good thing - and all spas are pretty much the same - but I have to tell you, the massage therapist I had at Sedona was the most amazing therapist I have ever had in my entire spa-going life! From the moment she began to work on me, it was obvious she is absolutely gifted. If you need a massage or you are wanting to give the perfect gift to someone who really needs truly excellent work done on their body, you MUST book it at Sedona. I have now been back to Sedona 3 times, personally requesting Dionne and making a point to also sit in their special Saunas. Each time, I have always received excellent attention and service by their staff and Dionne has never disappointed me. I highly recommend Sedona Spa and I am grateful for these forums allowing people to review because that is how my husband found and chose Sedona. I will never go anywhere else. On the flip side or reviews, I have to be really honest with you, I read those two negative reviews on here and they sound so extreme and so out of alignment with all of the other reviews and especially totally off base in with my own personal experienes at Sedona that I suspect they are reviews either strategically placed by a competitor or...I hate to say it...but...they really sound like two people who are not playing with a full deck. Sedona is a perfect place to send anyone for their 1st spa visit or their 100th spa visit and I would buy every family member, friend and co-worker a gift certificate there in more

Buyer Beware 11/16/2008

I normally do not write reviews; however, I had such a terrible ?non-experience? at the Sedona spa that I wanted to share my story. I am currently a student and a friend of mine bought me a massage and sauna at the Sedona spa for my birthday. I was excited after seeing all of the good reviews this place has received. On the day of my appointment, I left 30 minutes in advance to come to the spa (which is only 10 minutes away from me). On the way, I ran into traffic due to an accident that was on the road. I called the spa to mention to them that I was going to be late. I was told that the time would cut into my session. Once I reached the spa, after battling traffic, I was told that I had missed my appointment and therefore had lost my certificate. I could re-book but would have to pay for that day?s appointment as it would be considered a late cancellation. I would also like to clarify that I was not told of their cancellation policy on the phone when I initially booked the appointment with the manager. Right there went my whole gift certificate (and my friend?s money/my birthday present) down the drain. Even after speaking to the manager, I was told that nothing could be done despite my good faith effort to make it there on time and calling ahead since I was going to be late. I am pretty surprised and appalled at the level of service I received at this spa. The circumstances in this situation were completely beyond my control and I find it difficult to believe that I am the first person to ever be late due to being stuck in traffic due to an accident on a major Dallas highway (I-35). It seems surprising that given I was a first time customer, the spa was willing to throw away all future business opportunities they had with me by choosing this course of action. I would strongly recommend anyone who is thinking of buying a gift certificate to this spa not to as they clearly do not care to provide service once they have already received payment. more

worst spa experience I ever had by Teresa W. at InsiderPages 8/18/2008

My husband booked a facial for me, prepaying both the charge and tip, before whisking me off for a surprise weekend. Both of us had looked into Sedona based on the rave reviews it had gotten. I was booked for an 8:30AM facial. I arrived 15 minutes early so I might get ready, use the restroom, and relax after my drive in from Plano. The doors wee locked. I circled the block a couple of times and each time I came back the doors were still locked with no sign of activity inside. Finally at 8:30, I pulled on the doors making a loud clanging sound and someone came to let me in. She then made me complete paperwork regarding how often I drank, when I last saw my doctor, what my stress level was (increasing from this experience), etc. I protested, saying I was only getting a facial and was told they had to have the form for their files. Rather than delaying further, I completed the form hastily and said I was already being made late for my appt. She told me they did not open until 9:00. At this point I was very angry and would have left except my husband had prepaid. I told her I had an appt at 8:30 and that it and tip was prepaid. She took me back with nothing said and gave me a key to a locker and a top wrap. She verified with another women that no robes were given for facials. So I left my jeans and shoes on. As I stood not knowing what to do, someone folding sheets asked if I needed help and I said I was needing a facial. She said she was doing it and pointed to a room. I was asked to lay on the table. There was no attempt to provide any neck or knee support. She did offer to remove my shoes but given I had no slippers or socks offered I declined. I did not want to walk around barefoot and I have never been to a massage or spa setting that expected me to. I laid on the table flat on my back with no support throughout the 1 hour session, except for when I bent my knee more

Please see my review under Sedona Fitness... however I must also post here as well - SEDONA is the BEST!!! Ladies, listen up!! I went to Sedona last weekend for a little "pre-wedding" pampering for a bride. Everything was FANTASTIC!! From the delicious and healthy (Yes, true.) Mimosas that awaited us upon our arrival to the superbly cloud-like robes to the HOT and AMAZING infrared sauna - THIS PLACE IS AWESOME. And I'm from New York... we take our spas very seriously around here ;) The owner and "Maitre 'D" - Zane - is kind, funny, wonderful, smart, cute, and manages a 5 star operation. This is a lady who knows what women want. And this is a fabulous spa. Go, go, go!!! Pros: incredible massage, infrared sauna, Zane - the owner Cons: zero more

800 Calories burned in an infrared sauna is false advertising 5/27/2008

There is no physical way this is possible. I work for an infrared sauna manufacturer, and one of my friends sent me the advertisement for Sedona Spa. The most calories you can burn in a 30 minute infrared sauna session is 300 - 400, which is still great, but you need to change your wording, or show documentation. more

Sedona Spa is a breath of fresh air! I am serious about my me-time and my girlfiends can attest to it as we are hard core spa regulars, but lately we have all grown tired of the run of the mill service and the stiff enviroments of most of the spas we've been to in Dallas. I had never heard of Sedona, but saw they had won best massage and best facials so I booked in. They absolutely lived up to their titles - by far the best massage and facial I have ever had - plus everyone there is super relaxed and genuinely friendly. Be afraid Dallas spas - this place is the tri-fecta. Pros: They are a Fitness Spa - you can workout there too! more

I have had a facial done by Magan and she is wonderful. She lets you know what works well for your skin. I have purchase the mask and cleaning gel from the line of product sold at Sedona. I recommended them, they have improved the overall appearence of my face. I have gotten waxes at other spas and have been burned. Magan is very careful and gentle when giving waxes. Don't miss out, have a treatment at Sedona. more

Dionne is hands down the best RMT I have ever had the pleasure of receiving a massage from. When I travel, I make it a point to relax and get the kinks out, so I can tell you she is THE BEST! From coast to coast, I have not experienced such expertise. She can just look at my posture on any given day and tell me where I am in need of extra attention. I met her at my chiropractor, and she has since moved to a Spa in Downtown Dallas, and she also makes house calls for her frequent clients and referrals. She has many talents her clients may not know of from personal trainer to candle maker, she even mixes her own oils to ensure a healthy combination of vitamins and essence in every massage. I would highly recommend Dionne for massage therapist or physical therapist. She is the best in the Metroplex! Pros: At ay price an hour you can't go wrong, ask about their specials! Cons: none more

Sedona Spa downtown has a jewel.....her name Is Dionne Boykins and she gives a truly superior massage. Her energy and attention are total. She is not "phoning it in." I had the 90 minute sports massage......have had lots of stress and caregiving....I totally feel revived and serene. Highly recommended. I've had massage in many top spas, but Dionne is the best.
