Got hired 3 months after i turned 18!!!! 4/21/2011

I started attending this dealer school immediately after I turned 18. With absolutely no knowledge of ANY casino games, Todd was able to get my performance 100% ready for my audition at my current casino. I work at a small card room now and there are some days where I make REALLY good money for the little labor I do. more

Cheers SGA! 11/24/2010

Whether you are looking to start a new career, learn a new trade or supplement your income, SGA is the answer to this harsh economy. I work as a freelancer in the entertainment industry and was looking for the perfect job to supplement my income between gigs, without having to resort to waitressing. (No offense waitresses!) Dealing at a casino it seems, is the most flexible schedule of any job out there. It was a perfect fit. But I couldn't find a casino to train a non-employee, and was referred to SGA. Skeptical at first, I made my initial appointment for the next Monday, so I could get a feel for the people running it. I expected a hard-sell for both programs they offer (Table games and Poker) but they were completely honest with me and I actually was turned towards the least expensive of the two because there were more job opportunities for a Table Games dealer. I instantly trusted and respected the owners and instructors as well as their knowledge and advice. The atmosphere is very casual and you set your own pace for learning. If you pick things up quickly and devote 8 hours a day/four days a week, you'll finish the program much faster. If you take awhile to learn new things, the instructors are more than patient and can help you one on one with certain problems you are having. Even though I've graduated, I still go and practice. SGA is more than a school, it's a club. It's basically my Cheers, (without the alcohol ... or Norm) but you really get to know everyone in both classes, which makes it an exciting and playful way to learn. Glad I did it! more

Best school for the money 11/15/2010

I have wrote this same review on google, but I felt I had to share it again and make sure everyone knows how great the school is! I didn't know what to expect from a casino school, all I knew was that I wanted to deal in a casino and I had to figure out which school was best for the best price. I started asking casinos around the area which school they thought was great and out of 4 casinos all of them said the Seattle Gaming Academy. I decided to check it out, first thing I noticed when I came in was there were a lot of students! I thought it would be dead or something, but apparently everyone had heard the same thing! The owners of the school actually instruct which is great and they still are employed by casinos and have great connections! I signed up for both courses, pit games (blackjack, Pai gow) and table games(Poker Omaha) because they give a discount for that and within 10 minutes I was sitting down and getting 1 on 1 attention. The personality and attention to detail the instructors have create a fun learning environment that applies to everyone. I am a real person who got a real job after just 10 weeks of being in the school. If you want to get employed in the casino industry, Call the SGA, I recommend it to everyone :) more

Poker Dealer School 11/18/2006

We signed our son up for the classes. He can not wait to attend every day. He is enjoying the education and the instructors. He is looking forward to making $150 a day as a dealer. The school even places you in a job. Quick education to begin making real money. We recommend Pros: Quick, fun instruction Cons: Cost was $1000.00, but we feel it was worth it. more
