Friendly hometown parts and service 1/10/2010

I've had Scooterville source a few special-order items for me, and I've bought some small parts from their showroom inventory (roller weights and sliders, etc.) Each time, the sales staff has been friendly and knowledgeable. At times, their prices can be slightly higher than those of online vendors, but that's the cost of doing business when you have a bricks-and-mortar storefront and a handful of employees, and I'm fine with that. The location is great, right off I-94, and the available inventory of new and used scooters is second to none in the twin cities area. This is a small business working hard to fill a niche market, for which I'm grateful. Pros: parts availability, location, service Cons: pricing more

Service Department needs lots of service training. 10/8/2008

Scooterville's service department is unprofessional. I e-mailed them through their websight to make an appointment to bring my 1964 Vespa in. It took 2 days and me calling them to find out I should just drop it off. I dropped it off and went through symptoms that I wanted corrected. I didn't heard anything back for the first week. I called, left a message: no return call. I called again a week later and got through to the shop manager, Steve. The shop manager said he'd look into it and call me back later that day. Shop manager never got back to me. I stopped in (2 weeks have now passed). I asked the shop manager 'why he didn't follow up as he had promised.' Lame excuses, including mechanic was sick, I got busy. I asked why it took so long to get a repair done. He told me ""It's an old scooter with a bad seal, and I'd rather work on new scooters. The old ones go to the end of the line."" No one told me that two weeks ago, and if they had, I never would have gone through this horrible experience with Scooterville. Then Steve told me he didn't want to work on my scooter. He was rude. They screwed up and didn't even offer to make it right. Had they been up-front with me at the outset, I would've said, ""Thank you for being honest,"" which they weren't. I would've been fine and moved on. I am in the market for 2 new scooters. I wanted to experience what their service was like before I purchased from them. They failed. Cons: unprofessional service more

Sales staff disorganized but nice - service stinks 6/26/2008

Ok, so I bought this really cool little buddy 125 scooter. The matching trunk is on back order till mid June. I call to check on it and they say they will check and call me back and I never hear from them. Here it is the end of June, several calls later, and I still have no clue where my cute little trunk is. more

Unhelpful, elitist snobs... 5/13/2008

I own a scooter from before I lived here in the twin cities and needed a little routine maintenance done on it. I called scooterville to take it in and they instantly said they wouldn't work on it, because it wasn't one of the overpriced brands that they sell. Not only would they not work on it, but I haven't had someone be that rude and snobby to me in at least 10 years. I love scooters, but if you are going to act self righteous and elitist about it, you should really get over yourself. I will never buy a scooter from these guys, in fact, I won't even take a pair of goggles from them if they were free. Cons: Rude and unhelpful more
