Salon Sovay

Throughout the past seven years I have been in Austin, I have been trying out different salons to see who does the best haircut and color for me. Hands down! Sovay is amazing. I have never seen my hair this way, I look like a movie star! I will never go back to anyone else, nor do I trust that anyone else can do color the way Sovay can. I have been recommending Sovay to everyone, and I am doing the same here by writing this review. Thank you Sovay, I appreciate you always doing your best for others! Pros: Thumbs up more

I had a wonderful experience at Salon Sovay yesterday. I took a picture in to Erica and she was able to duplicate it exactly. She spent a lengthy amount of time making sure that everything about the cut was perfect. As she was styling it, she went through it with my step-by-step and gave me tips to use when I style it at home. She even limited herself to using the hair tools that I have at home to create my look! I am so happy with my hair. Everyone else loves it too. I highly reccomend Erica and Salon Sovay!! I just moved to Austin and was worried about finding a stylist that would be both reasonably priced and really talented. I found both at Solon Sovay. Sovay treated my hair as if it were her own. She even let me know secrets about keeping my hair healthy with natural ingredients. She gave my hair wonderful blonde natural color, and great lift with some long layers. I have received so many compliments on my hair since she did it?I made my second appointment the other day. If you want someone that wants make sure you look fabulous, go to Sovay. more

I enjoy my experience at Salon Sovay every time! My stylist, Brooke, is knowledgeable and creative - a great talent in Austin! She listens to what I would like to achieve with my hair and always creates a great look for me. Sovay and the other stylists are friendly and welcoming as well. I just move to Austin in April and I've been having a hard time finding hair stylist since I've had the same stylist in my home town for the last 10 years. I went to a known hair salon in Austin and it was pricy and I didn't like it at all. In December I found Brooke at Salon Sovay through CitySearch. You can get your hair colored anywhere, but you want it done right. I've never colored my hair before, and Sovay did a very natural job -- not only did she give me great highlights, but she took four patient hours to prep my hair and gave me a *free* color touch-up before my next appointment. Added plus -- coloring my fine hair gave it *great* volume, so if you have fine hair but don't think color is for you, consider letting Sovay color your hair your color, just for the volume boost. I don't often take the time to review a product/ service but have never felt more compelled after receiving the most phenomenal service last night at Salon Sovay. Erica Cantu has been my stylist for years and recently moved to Salon Sovay. Erica has an incredible talent for cutting/styling thick hair, so I drive faithfully from Lakeway to see her. Yesterday, my usual colorist(from another Salon) cancelled my appt and Sovay conveniently rearranged her schedule to accomodate my color emergency after Erica cut my hair. Sovay created the most amazing color my hair has ever had. She is detail oriented, artistically gifted and extremely customer service driven. The upscale salons I've visited in the past are always insanely overpriced and notorious for primadonna stylists. This is NOT ONE OF THOSE salons. The quality of service is truly unsurpassed and combined with the extremely reasonable prices this is a RARE FIND. Thanks for all of your efforts and staying late on a Saturday night. Henri at Salon Sovay on South1st street is the most unprofessional, rude hair stylist. Do NOT go to him, ever. He talks about himself, complains about having to be there even though the appointment time was HIS suggestion, was negative, insulting and completely unprofessional. \r \r He a) left 2/3 of my hair UNcolored so now I'll have to go pay at another salon to correct it, b) did NOT trim it at all even though that was to be included, c) was a bitchy, negative primadonna who talked about his debt and money troubles the entire time. YUCK! GROSS! NO THANKS!!!\r \r He actually asked if I wanted to leave with wet hair, at night, before I'd even seen the color!!!! As soon as I walked into the salon I immediately knew it was high end. I started to get nervouse about the price of my haircut because it seemed so upscale. The stylist and owner, Sovay, took great care of me and was so friendly. She was very professional and fun. I am so thankful for the job she did. I had my hair colored, then highlighted, and lowlighted. Afterwards she cut and styled my hair. The result made me look so beautiful and confident; she totally knows what she's doing!! In the end the price was cheaper than I've ever paid at Visible changes for only a haircut!!! The cost is so ridicoulsly reasonable for what I have now. I found my salon! Sovay is the best stylist! Not only is she very charming and welcoming, she is very precise and dedicated. Yes, she dedicates time and effort to make your hair look its best and you feeling like new! I have spent a whole year trying out different salons in Austin, and I am glad to finally say I am sticking to this one because they ""just care"" abput making you look your best. Sovay is now and will forever be my hairstylist. I couldn't ask for anyone better. I have such a comfort with her skills that I can confidently tell her,""Whatever you think Sovay, I trust you."" Sovay is very precise and won't allow herself any errors all while being so friendly and relaxed. Even if it's squeezing me in for an emergency or grabbing me some tacos from next door! I just moved here from Boston and one day at work noticed that my co-worker had a new extreamly flattering hair cut and highlights that were phenomenal. I asked who worked that magic on her and she said, Sovay!\r \r I visited with Sovay of Salon Sovay and couldn't be happier with the experience I had! Until today, I had never been to another salon in my life so consequently, I was very nervous to try a new stylist. However, from the moment I entered the salon I felt completely at ease. The atmosphere is unpretentious, friendly and it was clear Sovay does quality work.\r \r Savoy is a truely gifted artist! She is extreamly thorough, open and understanding, aware of what makes a woman feel/look great, and has incredible experience in her profession. She was diligient about the millions of foils in my hair, and took the time during my cut to make sure my hair was done to perfection. I was impressed with how well she tended to my needs.\r \r It was true pleasure having Sovay do my hair and I will go to her for as long as I live in Austin! (or TX for that matter!) Sovay is simply the best! She loves to make women feel and look beautiful. She is EXCELLENT at fixing any BAD COLOR (which is how I discovered her). She knows exactly what you need and is very detail oriented. Her salon is a hidden gem in South Austin. I have dark colored hair and she does wonders with it. You will feel like a different person when you walk out of her shop. She is always willing to work around your schedule. I highly recommend Salon Sovay!! I have been living in Austin for a few years now and I have found it nearly impossible to find a hair stylist that was amazing and personable. Finally after years of driving back to Houston for my old stylist, I found Brooke at Salon Sovay! I am so excited, she is so awesome. I am very picky about my hair and yet I could not be more pleased with what Brooke did for my hair. She cut and colored it. She came highly recommended from a friend. I was a bit scared at first but now I am so thankful for my friends advice. I will be going back and as long as Brooke is in Austin, she will be my hair stylist for years to come!! When my hair stylist moved out of town, I didn't know where to go to find a new stylist I could trust. She highly recommended to me her stylist , Sovay at Salon Sovay. I was very pleased with every part of my experience. Sovay is a very detailed and professional stylist. She really knows how to make a woman feel beautiful about how she looks. She takes the time to make sure everything is perfect. She explains everything she is doing and the reason behind it in a way that makes sense to a client. I've been seeing Sovay as a client for 2 years now. I have finally decided to write down my experience with her as my stylist. She has had such a positive impact not only on the way I look but I can not tell you what a positive person she has been to me in other ways. When I first met her I was seperating from my husband and felt miserable and down. She told me color and a cut would change my mood and give me ""mojo""...I think that's what she called it. In any event, I am happy to report that I'm wearing shades of blonde and light brown highlights with an incredible cut and I feel beautiful for the first time in about 10 years? She has made this big transition in my life so much better and I do have an extra kick in my step thanks to her...a true blessing in my life. Your hairdresser really can change your life. I have been going to Brooke for a year now and after seeing her, I never want to go to another stylist again. Not only is she friendly and professional, but she is AMAZING with cuts and highlights...oh, and has the best blowdry technique EVER! Her prices are beyond reasonable and I never come out of the salon disappointed. She knows what I like, and makes great suggestions, but she will always do exactly what you want if you don't want her to stray from your usual style. Her products leave your hair smelling amazing and your friends will all be asking for her business card, just like mine are. I already have 4 friends going to her! Ask for Brooke, you won't be sorry! Sovay, the owner, is truly gifted when it comes to hair - and she is incredibly sweet. Not only did I get a super cute cut, but she also took Lots of time to explain to me how to keep it looking cute!\r She gave me a ton of great tips that were easy and made my hair look great. She also provides a complimentary trim for those with bangs, which keeps you looking great between cuts!\r Salon is small, but really nice and makes you feel comfortable - Love this place! more
