Careful with the Second Floor! 12/10/2009

One of these days the second floor is going to fall from being so over crowded. Good Luck walking to the bar to buy a drink, walking on 5 feet of mud would actually be easier to get through than the crowd, then you gotta yell at the Bartender for your drink because everyone else is, (looks like Wall Street). The second floor have good music though, and the crowd is a good looking crowd, just too many. The line is horrendous, looks like a Star Wars world premiere line, First floor plays live music, and before the freebie first come first serve seats are now VIP tables, go figure. How funny is that they are always empty, lol. I think the reason this place is crowded because many people think that this is the only club, there's so many!!! Pros: Music and Location Cons: Crowded, Expensive Drinks more

Don't go it's a filthy location 9/20/2008

The pictures do reflect the place. The floors are carpet & they are sticky all over the place. It's filthy. The Saturday crowd is trashy and mixed with gangsters and 40 year olds that act like they're 21 year old p orn stars. The place is not classy at all and the dance floors are over crowded. The men there feel that they have the right to pull the women they want to dance with. And the management was unprofessional in there. You think they would use some of that $20 cover charge to clean the place up a bit. DON'T GO, your better off anywhere else. Pros: It looks nice from the outside. Cons: It's a breeding ground for jerks. more

Worst place I've ever been too 7/31/2008

After spending hours trying to get to the Rumba room, I was bitterly dissapointed. The people at the door, the manager and the owner were so rude. The Rumba room must have all the money they need, because the definiteliy don't treat their customer's very well. My spanish boyfriend would say the manger and however have "El sentido comun en el culo" Pros: can't think of one Cons: rude service more

Crappy 2/16/2008

This is the worst place i've ever gone to. It was a disaster, especially the manager he is a piece of s****. Pros: Not Recommended Cons: Not Recomended more

boring and terrible amateur DJ 9/20/2007

the DJ was horrible. songs were played 30 seconds each and then another (and REAL bad mixes, the song following the other song never matched in rhythm or pace), as if the DJ had no confidence. You couldn't get into the songs (of the few good ones). the rest was a bad mix of mexican and old 80's music. The crowd was serious and no smiles, just boring. Would not recommend and I'm amazed it got this many five star ratings. Pros: nice name for a dance club Cons: bad music, arrogant service, lame DJ more

Stampede!!! 7/26/2007

This club is very diverse you see people of all ages dressed in their best!!! The drinks are pricy but you do get drunk here as I have seen. The line is long, and that ensures a stampede of crowds, which it is. Room #2 (Second Floor) Hip-Hop Room plays awesome music but it's so crowded so is the bar it looks more like wall street with disco lights than a night club. more

Saturday Night At the Rumba Room 5/13/2007

I've gone twice now had a lot of fun both nights. Two dance floors upstairs salsa, and downstairs Hip-hop. Drinks are decent price, entry is a little high if you get there after 10pm its $20 plus $10 parking. So plan to get there before 10pm but a little hard if you driving through L.A. Music upstairs is fun and upbeat, hip-hop DJ changes the music too quick only plays each song what seems like 30sec. Crowd upstairs is a bit older, hip-hop floor is a bit younger. Bring your dancing shoes the girls like to dance here. Girl aren?t stuck up. Good crowds no fights. Last call around 1:30AM Pros: Good Dacing, and Drinks ok Cons: Entry a bit high if u get there after 10pm more

Bad dance floor 9/10/2006

To start, the dance floor is terrible--the material grips your shoes in a way that makes it very hard to turn. Even the dance instructor hired by the Rumba Room acknowledged that the floor was bad. When parking is $10 and the cover is an additional $20, I expect better arrangements than that. The place itself went from being a ghost town to being so crowded that I barely had enough room to turn a lady. There were hardly any places to sit down, and you weren't allowed to step outside for fresh air without leaving the club permanently. The place is certainly slick in its appearance, but the overall atmosphere wasn't very friendly compared to some of the other places I have visited. If you make reservations in advance, the cover is $10. Even at that reduced price, this place does not rank high on my list. Pros: good music Cons: bad dance floor more

Simply the Best 3/4/2006

Electrifying Fun! 1/11/2006

What can I say... this place is awesome. Great drinks, music, and dancing. I have gone there a few times on the weekend and it's usually packed. Really fun crowd. But I also went w/ some friends the other night during the week to see what it was like. Definitely not as crowded, but still had a great time. There's a bartender there - I think her name was Lacie. She took great care of me and my friends. Oh yeah - and it didn't hurt that she was smoking HOT too (heh heh). Maybe I need to go on weeknights more often! Pros: Drinks, Ambience Cons: No Bathroom attendan more

100% Latin LOVE- go go go! 9/18/2005

When u think of a club @ city walk u would prob think of it being lame cuz its in a shopping area full of visiters, but ITS NOT, ITS TOTALLY FULL OF LOCALS. I love this place- it has a great lay out for socializing, chilling, and meeting people. I dont even mind going out with just a few girlfriends. It is one of the few latin clubs where it is totally classy and the music is 1/2 classic and 1/2 hip hop, reggaeton. I LOVE REGGAETON! Pros: REGGAETON, beautiful, CLASSY Cons: Lil'Older crowd, Closes @ 2 :( more

BEST CLUB EVER! 7/28/2005

SO MUCH FUN! The bottom floor is salsa, and the top floor is salsa... The DJ's are great, and crowds of all ages.... Celebrities there all the time! AWESOME AWESOME! And Make sure to ask for the Shrimp Taquitos when your there! AWESOME! CANT SAY GOOD ENOUGH THINGS ABOUT IT! CLEAN, CLASSY! Pros: Easy Parking, Decent Cover Charge, Clean Cons: none, none!, none more

Best latin club i have gone too. 1/15/2005

The atmosphere is great. Its a nice latin expirence. I loved it. Up and downstairs have great music. The bar is great ask for an adios and dance the night away. Wish it never had to end. GO TO THE RUMBA ITS GREAT!! Pros: Latin music, Great bar, Great security Cons: , not enough seating, no elevator more

MamboKings 10/29/2003

I love this place.I kind of stubbled across it on accident on a visit to the Universal Sheraton. I have recieved the VIP treatment on every visit it is great when ever I get there they bring me to the front of the line. I come up from San Diego and make it a point to go at least once a month. Very beautiful and friendly ladies such great dancers here as well. Pros: Drinks are strong, Beautiful and,, friendly women Cons: a little expensive, need to keep salsa, downstairs on big flr more

Ay carumba!!Me gusta mucho! 8/16/2002

My friend & I went there for the first time last night & were really happy with this place. We usually go to Beach Bars & Hollywood clubs so this was a refreshing change. The guys are so fun there. If you are a girl don't expect to be standing for long before some smiley latin guy asks you to dance. And they sure know how to dance. The guys there love to dance. It seems like they just grab the nearest girl just to have a reason to show off there moves. It is so much better than the usual scene where some stranger comes up behind you & tries to freak you w/o even knowing your name. I have never had so much fun at a club in L.A!!! Classy place & super fun people!! Pros: Classy place, dressed up people, happy atmosphere Cons: parking costs $8 more

place to be seen 7/28/2002

This club is beautiful, it is like something out of a movie, no wonder you see alot of movie stars here. I had a great time there. The food was good, the drinks were great and the people who work there are just really good looking. But they look like they were too busy to ask out? A definte Hot spot! I will be back. Pros: good looking people, popular bar, upscale Cons: have to wait in line, Parking more

A Must See For Yourself 7/26/2002

I love this palce. It is very classy and a lot of fun to be at. Drinks are incredible (maybe a little too pricey) but they are great. Lots of good looking people and wonderful service. There was however one minor upset. The upstairs D.J. needs some big improvement and major updating of TODAY'S music. Also it would help a whole lot if he kept the latin music downstairs and stick to the club mixes upstairs. Other than that it's a definate must see to believe. Pros: Service, Dancing, People Cons: Upstairs D.J., Drink Prices, Upstairs D.J. more

The place to be 7/23/2002

If you are interested in running into Celeb's, this is the place for you. Great Atmosphere, and people watching & meeting place. If you get there early you avoid the cover charge, but it was only $20. Overall Great Club! Pros: Lots of Celebs, Upscale Cons: Strict Dress code more

love it 7/22/2002

Great social place. I really like the wall waterfall, finally great music and decent people in one place. more

  • In Short
Two full bars and two dance floors contain Universal CityWalk's hottest nightlife scene. A mixture of DJ and live music, the atmosphere is never less than energetic, with crowds dancing as late as they're allowed to stay. The Room attracts casual passers-by as well as a regular crowd of serious dancers. The latter are a well-dressed bunch, and they come to impress.
