The plumber, Bill, was prompt and friendly. He did a quick assessment with the info. I gave him re. my stopped up kitchen sink. He warned me of the possibility of a leak where the pipe went into the wall and showed me the rusty fitting. He worked steadily on a hot Sunday evening in Minneapolis... this is the time I had asked for with the dispatcher on the phone earlier in the afternoon. He spent a little time in the basement showing me where the kitchen pipes from my tenant unit upstairs meet my pipes to tell me how the upstairs sink may effect my drainage. After the drainage was partially cleared he demonstrated that the older pipes were now worn to the degree that they could not be tightened, but I just noticed that he did not leave the pipe here and that is not good. I will be getting two other estimates today of this job before I finalize on who to hire. more

Our kitchen sink drained very slow and had not been serviced in the 6 years we owned our home. The Roto-Rooter plumber from the Minneapolis location provided very quick service. It was a success only due to the workers tenacity. I had never seen any previous plumber snake all the way out the front yard before. The extra time and effort put into this paid off in the end. The problems I had for years have finally been figured out and solved thanks to him. He kept his cool and kept on going when others would have given up. I felt he gave great customer service. The service was great. They arrived on time and complete the task in a great amount of time. The overall price is a bit high but the problem has been completely fix. The pipes are working great. Haven't had anymore problems. more

The service was good in that the technician arrived on time according to the appointment schedule. He was very nice, and he did a very good job. Our only complaint was that the initial hourly rate is very expensive and we were charged for an hour and a half for something that definitely did not take that long and could probably have been completed in an hour. more

On May 11, Roto-Rooter analyzed and repaired a leaking laundry tub faucet at my residence in Minneapolis. The hot side was leaking so much that water pressure could not be maintained throughout the house and enough water was being wasted that it was necessary to use the main valve to turn water off for the whole house. The service was performed about 9 am. The washer on the hot side was bad and the stem cup that holds the washer was partially broken. Prices quoted were $200 to fix the faucet and $500 to replace it. My son’s fiancé who is living in the house after consulting with my wife decided to have the faucet repaired. (My son is out of country and I was on a field trip with students and could not be reached.) The technician replace both the hot and cold washers and the faucet does not now leak. If $200 sounds reasonable to replace two washers then Roto-Rooter should be fine. Otherwise I suggest looking for a more reasonably priced provider. A note on the repair. The technician noted that the faucet should probably be replaced due to the broken stem cup. Another way to fix this is to use a washer retainer. This can replace the broken cup and makes a fairly good repair. I have had several old faucets repaired in this manner and have found that the washers last about as long as usual for this type of faucet. I was disappointed that for $200 I did not get someone more knowledgeable about plumbing. I contacted Roto-Rooter and received the following response. I found Roto-Rooter very helpful, efficient, and cost effective. They do not charge just to come out - they come out for free and will give you an estimate before proceeding with the work which I found very helpful. Other plumbers I called charged at least $80 just to come out and give you an estimate. Our technician was very nice, quick to clear the clogged drain, and offered great advice. I would definitely call them again, and would recommend them as a great option for a plumber in Minneapolis. more

This is the second time we've had to call Roto-Rooter; it's an old house. In this episode, the kitchen sink (disposal and dishwasher drain as well) backed up. Snaking, plunging, pulling out the pipe didn't work. RR replaced the pipes, discovering another previously unnoticed break in the process, and cleared the drain. more

Went downstairs to find sewage coming up my laundry drain! Called Roto-Rooter Plumbers today, Marchy 18th, 2011 around 10:00am and they were very nice, I said I needed to move some things so they could get to drain, they were here in no time, Terry the plumber was very friendly. He explained the tree roots and grease in my drains, and sold me a product of theirs and advised me to have this checked again in three years. I've lived here 20 years so I guess I was lucky, this time! Good Job Terry! more

Called sunday night and Dan was there within the hour. He was pleasant and explained what he was doing and how/why it happens and took his shoes off, while getting from place to place ! :) Had a not so "easy" time with the cap, but kept it positive! We discovered a backed up drain at 6, called roto rooter (after our failed attempts) at 7:30 and had the drain fixed by 9! Daniel (#48-1240) was knowledgeable, respectful, and efficient. I will ALWAYS call Roto Rooter! more

Today I had plumber Nigel #1754 come by to snake out the bathroom sink. He was professional and really wanted to make sure nothing went wrong. He was personable as well. Living here in Minneapolis you're not always sure you can trust a big company to do work in your home but this went very well. more

Roto-Rooter Plumbers - 2/18/11. Very good service. I had a technician, Anthony, at my door in Minneapolis within 40 minutes. He cleaned out the floor drain in the basement within the quoted timeframe. He was professional and courteous. It was a relief to get this done quickly, and on such short notice. more

We were very surprised and thrilled to have someone come out on a Sunday afternoon and no extra charge. We were told that it would be about 2 hours and were kept up to date on the time of arrival. Our technician was very knowledgeable and recommended several things which was very helpful. We were pleased with our service. more

Our tub drain was clogged, called Roto-Rooter to do a clean-out, but our house is 90 years old and this is the original tub and plumbing. He could not open the clean-out since the once hexagon top was now stripped to smooth round, making it impossible to use a wrench. This necessitated replacing the entire drain pipe, whichrequired a plumber. (If he had been able to run the line it's likely that the pipe would have sprung a leak, since it was rusty and already had a pin-point leak). There was not charge. A plumber was here within an hour. I know it was a difficult job, requiring cutting extra holes in the wall to access the pipes and drain, and waiting for us to move shelves and other objects in the downstairs bathroom. He was pleasant, never complaining, and no profanity! (We really appreciate that!!) I would give the service and the finished result 5 stars, but the price, however, was high. I don't know how it compares to other companies. I really appreciated the $40 coupon I got online. more

I needed to call an emergency plumber to fix my clogged drain and because Roto Rooter was the only name I am familiar, I gave them a call. The young woman who scheduled the service was extremely friendly and explained when tech would arrive. She called back in less time than intially estimated to state Terry was on his way. Terry arrived shortly thereafter and was very friendly, courteous, efficient, and did an excellent job fixing the clog. He also suggested I purchase a product from Roto Rooter to prevent further clogs. Hopefully I will never need to call a plumber again in the future, but if I do, I will only ever use Roto Rooter because of the friendly service and excellent results. It is very difficult to find a service that I find the service even at adequate levels, but Roto Rooter goes above and beyond. Keep up the good work! I will recommend to everyone!
