Best place to take emergency 4/27/2008

Dont know why any of these people are complaining probably same low lifes that go somewhere and expect to pay nothing for a service just cause they werent treated perfect or have a sob story bout not enough money, i was giving proper service, knowledgeable staff at a price that is reasonable to save a pets life. So all you broke belly rubbing peons move on dont get pets if you cant care for them. 9/10 its the owners fault for a pet emergency anyway so take responsibility for your own actions, and please whatever you do dont let your kids play in the street id hate to read a review about vanderbilt for saving your inbred kids life and expecting you to pay JESUS CHRIST WHATS WRONG WITH PEOPLE Pros: Fast friendly knowledgeable service and staff kept me up to date on what was happening Cons: the earth is flooded with morons that dont understand PETS=MONEY spent grow up you belly rubbing slobs and peons more

Great staff and service, because of them my pet is alive! 3/28/2008

The Rivergate Pet Emergency Clinic saved my Pet's life. I love my pet, and would do anything for him. I am also aware that Emergency Visits cost more $, due to the fact that it is after hours, fully staffed with better techs than at my regular Vet's office, and lets not forget the Doctor's who are trained to handle EMERGENCYS.\r I have had to use the clinic several times, most of the time i have had to wait a while to be seen because someone's pet was close to death, while my baby had a little loose stool, and another time had a limp when walking. Beleive me there was no wait for my baby on our last visit because they TRIAGE and rushed him back for emergency surgery. I am well aware that the other people in the waiting room had to wait even longer to be seen, but their pet was not about to die and mine was.. \r I am sooooo happy that they are there for me and my baby.\r The staff really know their stuff. I RECOMEND THEM TO EVERYONE. \r People who complain about the cost should get an emergency credit card, like i have OR get a friend with one. \r Also the hospital is so very clean, it is quite impressive. As a community we are LUCKY to have them. Pros: Highly trained staff, hospital was very clean, staff answered all of my questions Cons: No t.v in waiting room more

NEVER NEVER NEVER TRUST THESE PEOPLE - MOTIVATED BY MONEY MONEY MONEY 3/18/2008

I would NEVER bring any more animals to this place after my experience. I had a puppy that had trouble breathing. I called them at 10pm to ask some questions. They wouldn't give me any suggestions on what to do or check. They only thing they wanted was for me to come to them and pay $95.00 for an exam and then tell me what treatment method to take. I was short on cash and couldn't do it and again asked for suggestions to check out why my dog was breathing in spurts. After I hung up, I called some friends and some suggested that something was stuck in her throat. Some asked if her stomach was bloated and finally after about an hour an a half the dog was starting to drop and looked like it wouldn't be long and she would be gone. I called a friend and borrowed $250.00 and off to their hospital I went. It was a Monday night, they were empty, nothing to do but sit around. I bring the puppy in and they take her into the back and front counter person started asking how much I could spend. I told them that all I had was $250.00 and all I want them to do was keep her alive until morning when I could take her to my Vet. Her temperature was high about 103 and kept going up. She eventually got as high as 107.50 and they put her in ice to try and cool her off. For some reason they didn't know what it was. They told me to leave and come back at 6:30am to pick her up to take to my Vet. At 3am they call me and told me in their professional opinion that they thought I should approve for them to euthanize the dog since it's temperature was so high for too long. Her temperature finally came down to 101. They also said that my $250.00 was all spent. That if the dog would get sick they wouldn't even clean out her mouth. I told them NO - DO NOT EUTHANIZE THIS DOG... I jumped in my car and head over there. I told them I would take legal action if they stopped treating her. To cut a story short. I picked her up at 6:30 and went to my Vet. My Vet Saved her life... Cons: They want Money Money Money and More Money more

Good emergency clinic 3/9/2008

I took our family dog there today when he tore his nail and paw almost completely off. Normally I would only have given five starts had they been able to actually fix it, but the did the next best thing. The wrapped it up nice and neat to help make him more comfortable, explained it would need a little more extensive care, but that he would be fine since he was not bleeding, and told me to get it fixed first thing in the morning. So why 5 stars? They were very nice, very professional, and did not even charge me! That's right, they waived the $95 exam, and did not charge me a dime for the time, and effort of examining him, and wrapping his wound! I would like to say thank you! :) Pros: Very professional, and very nice staff! Cons: Could not perform the entire procedure there on the spot. Parking was full, so I had to park next door. more

More Info Regarding Lacey!!! Do not take any animals here!!!!!!!!! 11/5/2007

We've been waiting since last Thursday morning for the director to call us. We were assured that the director would call first thing today. They were given 2 cell phone numbers and a home number. No one has called on any of these phones. We don't even know where they put our dog!!! The never told us to pick her up nor did they tell us what they did with her body. For all I know she didn't really die she was abducted by aliens or sold to the highest bidder. I want my dog back and I want at least 271.00 to start the pay off. I hope their vets read this since they were trying to keep it a secret from them. \r \r Director: \r Call us back!!! From here on out I would suggest that you return the calls instead of leaving it up to the staff there. They lied to us about the money!!!! Everyone is not owning up to what they did wrong there. I never signed anything authorizing CPR. Your vet said, ""She'll be fine. Worst case scenrio is that I'll have to remove her eye."" The surgery went fine according to this vet. She said that when she tried to wake Lacey up she died and they did CPR. She lied and your staff is lying to you and the owners. I would stongly suggest you call us back to find out the truth. \r \r Pros: It was clean!!! Cons: Everything else but it being cleaning!!! more

High Not Recommended - - When they mess up they won't return your calls!!!!!! 11/5/2007

The other night I carried my 11 month old shih-tzu puppy to this clinic because her eye was coming out of the socket. She got sick just before we arrived at the clinic. I live about 30 to 45 minutes away so I think she was just car sick. My 3 year son was scheduled to have surgery the following morning. I told them this and that I would not be able to pick her up if it was after 5 am. She said they would put her to sleep while they did the surgery. My daughter was with me & th0e vet said,""Worst case scenerio she would ave to remove her eye completely"". 30 to 45 minutes after we left the vet they called & said, ""We hate to tell you this but we lost Lacey after the surgery was done."" She said she did CPR & couldn't get her back. I paid them almost 700.00. I gave them 271.00 in cash & charged 400.00 to my debt card. They told me that I could come back & pick up the cash that I gave them that night. I told them again that I couldn't do that because it was 12:00 am & my son had to be at the hospital at 6:00 am. I told them I would call them back later to schedule the pick up this money. She said that was fine. On Friday night the day after my son's surgery we called them back to find out how to get this money back. No returned the call. 2 hours later we called back & was told by the lady answering the phone would have to contact the director of the clinic to find out how much money they would give us back. Saturday morning she finally called & went down on the price by 110.00 giving me back 161.00. I asked her why the price had dropped & she said she was just being nice & that was the only reason why she was giving us the 271.00. I guess she decided not to be nice anymore. We at this time have refused the money. She said she didn't want the owners (vets) to find out about this so that is why she was only offering the 161.00. If anyone knows any of the vets & where they are post a response since the director doesn't return our calls. Pros: The place looked clean!! Cons: Everything but the cleanliness!!! more

They lost another pets body !! 8/28/2007

I wish I had read this before we used the clinic on 12 Ave S....after reading the story on"" that is messed up""the newschannel 2 program....can't believe it has happened again....they ""lose"" your deceased pets body after you pay them $60.00 to hold them and then say this has never happened before and they are ""sorry"". We have lost our cat all over again and wont get to bury him as planned. \r The clinic for emergencies in Cool Springs is great...the Rivergate and 12th Ave location have problems! Same business mgr...same bs story!!\r Read the story and comments on the website for channel 2...sad story about how they lost a lady's deceased dogs body and he was to be cremated and buried beside her husbands grave...This should never happen to anyone....crappy customer service and you get attitude even though they are the ones who made a terrible mistake.... Pros: provide a much needed service although extremely expensive Cons: very expensive more

would not take a fly here! 7/10/2007

WHAT A HORRIBLE PLACE!! i just saw the ""that's messed up"" story on news ch. 2 about this place. if u plan on getting ur pet properly cared for do NOT take them here!! more

No used car tactics here, just great care of our pup 8/25/2006

I don't know what brightcateyes was talking about. Of course they're gonna charge more for the exam, just like an ER doctor would for after hours treatment of a person. \r \r There were no used car tactics used with us, they were very straightforward with pricing and gave us the option of going thru with something. They even advised that they didn't think an xray was necessary, but we insisted on it. Turns out it wasn't, but we got the choice, they weren't pushy at all. They treated our pup really well and all fawned over her. They told us how to take care of her overnight and if we had anymore problems to call them the next morning and they would do what they could to help us out. Pros: Location, Service, Friendliness more

Great service in emergency situation 10/27/2005

I have seen the staff work and they do a great job considering the situations they work with. They provide nothing but the utmost in emergency care for our animals. The clinic is clean and the services are endless..... Pros: Clean, Friendly Staff, Great Vets more

Used car lot tactics 7/1/2005

I felt like lets make a deal when I tood my dog in for care. They kept coming in with a low and high bid. Three different times, each significantly higher than the last. It's like they were bidding to see how much my baby was worth to me. They use scare tactics and play on emotions to get you to pay outrageous prices. They wanted to charge me 175 for tests my regular vet charge 50 for. 203 dollars for a blood transfusion which usually costs 50. They demand payment upfront and know they have you bent over a barrel.
