I will never go back AGAIN!!! 6/20/2011

This was the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant in my life. We went to the Sunday brunch buffet. When we arrived, there was a big sign on the outside that stated the price for the buffet was $12.95. While we were eating, one of the employees changed the price of the buffet to $13.95. The employee got a piece of cardboard and marker and taped it over the existing sign. We were forced to pay $13.95 for the meal. I have never in my life been to a restaurant where the price for the food has increased while you are eating it. I found this to be a very poor and unethical decision to change the price of the food. I feel this is a way to rip customers off. If a restaurant advertises a price, they have to stick to it. Furthermore, the service is awful. There is only 1 waiter for the whole place. There were 16 people in our group. I finally got tired of waiting for my glass of water, that I had to share a glass with my husband during the whole meal. Once again, I have never been to a restaurant where I had to share a glass of water with someone else. more

I will never go back to this place 2/22/2011

The waiter treats you like you owe him something and the food did not arrive at the same time; first my friend's and 15 minutes later mine. The silverware was bended in many ways and appeared to had came out of a 99 cents store. You are better off just going to the bakery next door. All together it was an awful experience. If you really like to be punished and pay for it, this would be the place to go. more

In general the food is good, just a taste a little Mexican, because the cooks are not Chilean! that hurts. what to emphasize in this latter time now is watch out, before there was a guy that left much to be desired with their service, unkind and it seems that this drunk. The days are Sunday buffet is so bad that one of the cooks change the trays and also provides customers with all his apron full of food, oil stains, it gives a very bad look for us customers. more

A must visit for every latin american food lover. 11/26/2008

I feel a strong need to write a review after reading a negative review on this small yet historic restaurant. Pros: Friendly service and completely authentic Chilean. Cons: Parking, park far and walk. more

best chilean food 11/4/2008

decided to write a review for this place after commenting to my friend about how i never write reviews for my hidden gems. been going to this place since at least the early '90s. Have had just about everything on this menu and have never been disappointed. My favorite dish is the caldo de res (It's not on the menu. I guess it's for regulars?). The beef and squash chunks fall apart when you poke them with your spoon. The seasoning used in this caldo really sets it apart from the Mexican cocido. The empanadas in their deli next door are to die for! Take them to go though and have a meal at the restaurant instead. Just heat the empanadas up in a toaster oven (don't microwave them). The beef and cheese ones are yummy. Although I like spinach, the spinach cheese ones aren't a favorite. Tonight, my friend had the corned chicken pie and a milanesa sandwich. more

go if you want to NOT be served 8/14/2006

two out of the four dishes we ordered were decent, but the lack of service from the non-smiling waiter made me give this restaurant a D. we waited extremely long for our drinks and for our food. we were never asked once how our meal was and when the waiter dropped off our check after we asked for it three times he did not even thank us. what made it worse was that the waiter was the OWNER of this establishment. if you want to have a lousy evening i would recommend you visiting this unfriendly establishment. actually the bus boy was kind! Pros: bus boy Cons: parking and service more

I have never tried Chilean food until a good friend of mine took me there. Although the neighbourhood is not Beverly Hills-esque, the restaurant itself is worth the trip. They specialise in seafood fare and their portions are rather large! I ordered two entrees and the waiter looked puzzled at me (I am a typical, small Korean). He joked with me and said I couldn't finish both dishes. Well... I did the best I could and I almost finished! Since it was my first try at Chilean food, I can't really compare it with any other restaurant, but it certainly was delicious and made with heart. Plus, they have a big screen TV with Gol TV (football, aka soccer channel) always playing; a huge plus for footie fans like me! Excellent, friendly and attentive service is also their quality Pros: Friendly, Delicious Cons: Parking more
