Rik Ducar

My friend selected this place to do the tuxedos for his wedding. I went to get fitted and pay, when the girl helping me said that they would offer a 10% discount if I paid by check I stupidly bit. Within weeks they've closed up shop. Now myself and the rest of the groomsmen are out of luck with the tuxes and I'm out $300. Thanks a lot bud. Stay away if they ever reopen. more

I'm posting on Rik's Atlanta site due to the fact that he recently closed his store in Los Angeles rather suddenly and without notice to his clients whom he still owes money! Below is what I went through with him at his Los Angeles location. I also think the positive reviews on here are fake. I was given a gift from a friend from Gilt City for 2 custom made shirts by Rik Ducar. Like Creek, my experience was unpleasant form the start. I've worked in the high-end fashion industry for over 13 and can tell you that Rik knows little about fashion, textiles or fit. While trying on a ""fit shirt"" to get my measurement, I had to keep reminding him about sleeve width and making sure it was and athletic fit (higher in the underarm). After selecting my fabric (which I was disappointed with the selection), I was given the time frame for the shirts to be made. Let me bring up another point; I was told it would take 6 weeks to make 2 shirts... You can get a custom made suit from Prada made in Italy and ready in-store in 2 months. But I was in no hurry so I was fine with the timeline. 8 weeks past and I heard nothing from Rik. I called the store several times with no response. I finally got ahold of Rik a week later and he said he will check on the order and call me back. That never happened. I then receive an email a few days later stating that he was having a dispute with his shirt maker, but it was resolved and the orders would be filled in the coming weeks. That never happened. 3 1/2 months later, with no communication from Rik, I emailed him that his business practices was unacceptable and that I wanted a refund. Again no word back and another email about his supplier. I wrote back that I no longer cared about the shirts and didn't want to ever do business with him again and that I was going to contact Gilt and inform then of his business practices. I then received and email apologizing for the delay and said that I would get a refund. He also asked that I not inform Gilt. Is he kidding me? It is not 7 months later and while I did get my money back from GIlt, I have yet to receive the money I paid for the ""better"" fabric selection I made. I truly wonder if the positive experiences written about Rik Ducar on here are real... somehow I think not. BEWARE. more

She emailed swatches and pictures of suits, she contacted all the groomsman, handled all the sizing and payments (which isn't easy to do with 10 guys) and shipped all the suits directly to them. The entire experience was hassle free and we live in Florida. The suits were beautiful too!! more

Kristen Blackmon, their Director of Style, really laid out the red carpet treatment for me upon my arrival. Not only was she able to order exactly what I wanted, but she literally had the tuxedo shaped down for me so that it fit exactly like I wanted it to. She even had a custom shirt made for me from my measurements. Kristen even met me the day of my wedding to tie my bowtie because I couldn?t get it right. People usually say the wedding is all about the Bride, but my experience at Rik Ducar made me feel as if a little more than a small portion was about me too! I highly recommend Rik Ducar if you looking to get that perfect tuxedo. more

This is truly a unique business-very geared toward men. I went back and bought a last-minute business suit as a Christmas gift, and was welcomed back and given the same service as before- and THANKED for my business which is so rare these days. These girls know menswear and provide wardrobe consulting as well! No better place for menswear, either formal or day-to-day- I'll be spreading the word! more

I was completely disappointed with my experiences there and hated the idea of ordering tuxedos from a catalog to try them on a week later. So I searched the internet and found Le Tux Shop in the Highlands and thought I would check this place out. I was a little skeptical at first with it being in the Highlands and wondered if it would be within my budget. As soon as I arrived at Le Tux, I was greeted by Kate and was immediately helped like I was a regular customer. I came in with an idea of what I wanted for my tuxedo and the groomsmen tuxedos so we sat down with the book of rentals so that I could show her what I wanted. Kate was very helpful with helping me make decisions about the colors and styles that I wanted to try on. On my next visit, I was greeted by name and Kate was again there, ready to help me with anything that I needed. After trying on the rentals, I told her they were all nice, but I really didn't feel like a groom in them. She pointed me towards a modern looking tuxedo by BCBG and the moment I put it on, I knew that this was the look I wanted on my wedding day. I was offered a very reasonable price and after a few days to think about it, I decided that is what I wanted to wear and I would get rental tuxedos for my groomsmen. Kate handled all of the coordination of tuxedo rentals for the groomsmen. She handled getting measurements and payment from all of the groomsmen which took one more thing off of my to-do list. All of my groomsmen, most of which did not live in Atlanta, had a great experience with Kate. Initially, Le Tux had a problem getting the tuxedo as it was out of stock at the manufacturer. Kate worked for many days to have a tux made for me and shipped to Le Tux in time to have it altered and ready for the big day. After the alterations, the tuxedo fit perfectly and I also had a wonderfully tailored Hugo Boss shirt that I purchased at Le Tux to finish out the ensemble. I had so many comments at the wedding on how great my tuxedo looked and I have Le Tux Shop to thank for that. Le Tux Shop provided me with first class service, a great selection of tuxedos, and reasonable prices. They have a selection of suits, tuxes, shirts, and any other formal accessory you may need to meet any price point. I would highly recommend Le Tux for your wedding attire or any formal wear need you may have. I will definitely be visiting them again when I need any formal wear in the future. more

I gave her my groomsmen's contact info (with most living out of state) and Kate coordinated everything - sizing, payments, shipping, etc. The suits looked great and the groomsmen all agreed that it was an easy experience for them. I would highly recommend Kate and Le Tux. I won't need them for another wedding but I do plan on going back for my next suit. more

I purchased the Jack Victor tuxedo for the wedding and couldn't have been happier with my decision. It has a classic look to it and I'm excited to wear it on many more special occasions. The staff at Le Tux Shop altered it perfectly and in a very timely manner as well. I would also suggest using Le Tux Shop for your groomsmen's rental tuxedos. They managed the entire process for me and contacted my groomsmen on their own for sizing and payments. I highly recommend Le Tux Shop if you're looking for a tuxedo, suit or something fun to wear for a night out on the town. The shop LOST my tuxedo the week of my wedding! Even though I came in months beforehand they were unable to have my suit ready till one week before. When I got there to pick it up they couldn't find it!! This stress was the last thing we needed before the wedding.The service overall seemed less than polished and I'm not sure if these people really knew what they were doing. My groomsmen said they weren't very responsive and things didn't come together till the last possible minute. I chose this shop because on my first visit the said they would take care of everything including handling all the groomsmen. They made a lot of promises but in the end didn't really live up to the hype. Pros: Very nice looking in the front, had some good tux's Cons: Poor followthrough more
