Dr. Ginsberg from Red Oak Psychiatry in Houston, TX appears to have an understanding of the finer details of biology, due to his initial concern for my Gilbert's, and the heavy metals in the daily multivitamin I was taking. He had a theory that I might be allergic to the blue dye in the 50 mg Vyvanse capsule. He is a competent doctor and i would recommend him. more

I always get sound, helpful, and completely unbiased advice! more

They are always respectful and courteous! more

Editorial review from Citysearch 3/4/2013

Ginsberg's job is to diagnose and prescribe meds. They ask questions that will determine your condition and supply the medicine that will help. more

Editorial review from Citysearch 2/20/2013

the nurses have always been so nice (you sometimes have to see a different one on occasion if the other is running late with appts), but they read your charts and can keep up to date with your previous appts more

Editorial review from Citysearch 2/1/2013

They made sure every single question I had was answered, and are always available if I think of any more questions I want answered. Their staff is the most friendly, welcoming staff I've ever dealt with. They are so warm and professional, and make the whole experience that much better. I was so impressed with the progress I was able to make after visiting them. All my questions were answered, and I feel a lot more confident and hopeful about the future. The office was very easy to locate. I didn't have any trouble finding it at all. I will absolutely return. I had an amazing experience, and they were by far the best I've ever seen. more

For me, he's worked with me while I don't have insurance, has let me be active with my medications, and is one of the few psychs who believes ADHD is real. The nurse practitioners are all sweet, and basically it's best to see this guy if you know what meds you want and don't need a lot of hand holding. more

Dr. Ginsberg has been treating my son for depression for over a year, and we have been very happy with his care. Do not go to him expecting him to be a counselor - he is not. What he is is an expert in medical management of psychiatric disorders. There are others in the office that do the counseling. He is not particularly talkative, but has always answered my questions when I ask. We have found the nurses and staff to be very friendly, and Dr. Ginsberg has managed the medical side of my son's depression with great results. It looks like a lot of the negative reviews on this site were submitted by a single digruntled patient to me. more

Worst wait times ever 6/30/2010

Be prepared to spent 1-4 hours waiting. If you have an afternoon appointment, you will be there until the entire building is closed - including reception. You are in the blind as to how long the wait and the admins won't speak to you to discuss. Furhtermore, after your long wait, you can expect a 10-15 minute session with your doctor. Cons: wait time more

8 years I've been going to Red Oak Psychiatry 7/13/2009

In 2001 when we started going to Red Oak it was because after two years of seaching we finally found the right Dr. The first couple of months were fine though we had long wait times (in excess of 60 mins) but nothing I hadn't experienced everywhere else. Then our Dr's admin. helper decided she needed to stay home with her new baby and from that day on we have had nothing but inept, careless, rude and very unprofessional treatment. This applies to very one from the person who hides behind the glass at the checkin desk, to Karen the office manager. We stay because the Dr. is the best choice we have for now and I can't risk my child's receiving the best care I can provide just because the office staff is terrible. When I told Sharon in scheduling that I hoped she would have the same experience I was having the next time she had to be the patient at her dr's office she replied with I'd be very happy with the same level of service. Just how far away have we come that we are ok paying what we pay for health care and receiving NO customer service? Isn't it a shame we have to ""overlook"" the office staff. I tell the doctor we see almost everytime how terrible the staff is and he has said ""Yes, I know I hear it all the time"" but yet he's still with the practice? So we will continue to put up with their horrible treatment until we find another Dr. However if you are reading this and trying to decide whether or not to use Red Oak? I'd recommend you find another office to patronize because this one definetly does not deserve your business! Pros: The Dr. we see is obviously good or we wouldn't go back Cons: but the office staff is by far the worst ever! more

I did not have admin problems and Dr. Skiba has been helpful 1/6/2009

I do not normally write reviews but I felt that I had to as my experience has been different from the previous reviewer's. My son has been seeing Dr. Skiba at this practice for five months, and I have not encountered any of the administrative problems. In fact when I called four different practices to make a new patient appointment, this was the only practice that called me back! I have always had my phone calls answered (except the first one, and I rec'd a call back the same day), I have not had any problems with scheduling appts promptly, and I have not encountered rudeness. It is true that it is a busy practice and their check-in could be a little smoother, but I think that they do some of their processes for privacy purposes. Dr. Skiba has been caring and helpful to my son. I have recommended the practice to other people. Pros: Doctor Skiba has helped my son, phone calls are answered Cons: waiting room time is long more

Worst Administative staff I've ever witnessed. 12/30/2008

Im a at home mom of five. This is my first time writting a review of this company. The location of this business is perfect, not hard to find. It is a mini medical center area. \r I chose this place because it was convieniantely close to me, there was a particulare doctor there I needed.\r However the administrative staff is very nasty, rude, and unproffessional. I've made 2 trips here, and have spoken over the phone several times, and 6 out of 7 telephone conversations were absolutely vexing to me. These people are so annoying, this woman argued with me over the phone, and it wasn't called for. She had a very bad arrogant attitude. I've sponken with at least 3 different women. The staff is horrible. They don't answer the window. You just have to stand there and wait for someone notices you, and then they might have an attitude with you. Unbelievable it's not even young people, it's older people who should know better. I would recommend the particular doctor my child sees, but the staff you just have to overlook. Pros: Doctors themselves are proffessional Cons: Administrative staff: worst ever witnessed more
