This downtown Japanese restaurant is two things at once: official restaurant of chic, hip Hotel Max next door and bustling destination for happy hour sake and creative sushi. Ebony wood trim, giant glowing red lantern fixtures and geometric cutouts are more modern fusion than traditionally Far East--an element reflected in the menu of inventive sushi rolls (the signature one: pineapple, shrimp, crab, jalapeno and goat cheese) and other Japanese delicacies.
