Fantastic Pizza, Pleasant Atmosphere 7/2/2010

I love this place. My wife and I come here often, mostly for the pizza, partly for the atmosphere. The people are very nice, service is quick, and they always get our order right. The pizza's the best part, though. It has crisp but not crunchy crust, flavorful sauce, and just the right amount of cheese. Definitely worth the price. Pros: Pizza is amazing, service is great Cons: A little pricy - but worth it more

Pizza is excellent. I'm from New Haven. CT. 4/22/2010

Pizza in Austin is generally doughy and bland to me. Only a few places seem to have thin but substantial and flavorful pizza. This is one. If you like tex-mex or ranch dressing then your palette is broken and you shouldn't eat here. Pros: Excellent Pizza like we have in New Haven, CT. Cons: None. I'm not hard to please. more

Really great place and some good white sauce pizza 8/29/2009

My boyfriend and I found this place by mistake one day looking around the strip mall. The interior has a dainty homemade Italian feel and the people who work there are very friendly. We tried their white sauce pizza which we loved! The second time I tried their Chicken Parmesan, that was good too, but I really suggest going for the pizza! more

Great People Bad Pizza 12/3/2008

I happened to stumble upon this location on a lunch break. There were lots of people hanging around and chatting with what seemed to be the owner or the owner's family which indicates they have a steady clentele. Everyone looks nice and friendly. Unfortunately when I actually tried my two slices of pizza I was disappointed. The pizza looks like NY style, but doesn't even come close to it in flavor. The bread was sort of hard and not crunchy. The tomato sauce was way too tangy. Pros: Good People Cons: Bad pizza - Mediocre salad more

Great Italian option 7/26/2008

I have been there about 3 times, the last being last Saturday. I was very happy with the Pepperoni and black olive pizza. I have had the chicken dishes and been very happy with them. It is becoming one of my favorite italian places. Pros: Not as noisy as some places. Good food, great service Cons: Not open on Sunday more

Tasty, but..... 3/18/2008

Ate at Reale's the other night. At the time, the food was reasonably tasty. That night, however, my wife had a little intestinal discomfort. We weren't able to verify the cause, so we chalked it up to the great unknown. I had the leftovers today, however, a short 2 1/2 days later. Despite the refrigeration, this caused me substantial problems. Pros: Nice people Cons: Illness more

Good service, but the food just doesn't measure up to these reviews 9/16/2007

I must have a high standard of Italian food growing up in Chicago... after reading these reviews I was excited to try this place. The pizza wasn't good, the pasta was average... just not what I anticipated after Pros: Service Cons: Cardboard tasting crust on pizza.. pasta just average, high prices more

Reale's is a treat! 6/16/2007

I've been going to visit Bob, Gino and Tina for as long as I can remember. My father has been their contracted handyman since I was 8 years young. I went to high school with Tina and last night I was at the birthday party of Jasmine Brown whom was a long time waitress there before she became a mother. To keep it simple, this is a family restaurant. Ginos' inviting smile and firm handshake is almost always followed by a question about my family and how things are going. I think the same CD has been on rotation since the opening of the latest location, yet I never have to listen to it due to the chatty waitstaff or the witty laughter at the bar. Their slogan ""Your home away from Rome"" hit's the head on the nail! I have nothing to say about the food because it speaks for itself. Flip a coin, let it land on the menu and fate will leave you full, cheery and heartfully satisfied. If you've never eaten there, it'll just make my wait for a table that much shorter! Pros: The chef salad is so simple you'll never figure out why you can't replicate it at home. I think they're made with googles of pride and respect for quality which shines in the staff. Cons: OPEN ON SUNDAY GINO!!!!!! more

best NY style pizza, great food,i,ve tryed it all! 10/6/2006

I've been eating here since Bob first opened the original 1,and it's always been great, the pizza pie is reale!Fold the slice in half and eat it like your supposed to!Hmmmm HMMMMMMMMMM!Reminds me of the old neighborhood back home. Great lunch or dinner,I believe I've had everything on the menu and have never been disappointed. I highly reccomend Reales! more

BEST PIZZA ANYWHERE IN THIS TOWN!!! 8/4/2006

I love this place! Their pizza (order it crispy), baked ziti, manicotti, spinach ravioli, lasagna, meatball subs (get lot's of napkins), are awsome! They have live entertainment on wednesdays ( a Sinatra singer) and thursdays (a guy who plays a balikia?). Great food, great service, family owned and operated. The owner, Bob Reale, will sometimes sit at your table, and tells some great stories. You've gotta try this place!! Pros: Everything Cons: They're not open Sundays more

Really the best pizza in town 11/2/2005

A friend from New York recommended Reale's, and even though I live South of the river, I keep coming back...the cheese, the sauce, the crust...I don't know but it is a magical combination! Pros: great pizza! more

Great food, great restaurant 9/19/2005

The food is great. I love the fact that it is an Italian family owned and run business. Very very good! I would highly recommend eating here! Pros: take out, great food, great pizza Cons: no delivery :) more

Real Pizza!! 9/19/2005

Fantastic pizza. Low price. Almost as good as the real deal in NYC. more

Where are these reviewers from? 7/27/2005

I am guessing the folks here who are positively reviewing this restaurant have never been to a Little Italy or anywhere near the New York metropolitan area. The food was abolutely terrible. The breadsticks were chewy, the brushetta was tooth-breakingly hard, and the Veal Saltimbocca was absolutely horrendous. The Chicken Alfredo was marginal, but that is hard to mess up. A bad Italian dining experience, but what should I expect being in Central Texas? Pros: Atmosphere is OK Cons: The food more

The best home southern italian cooking 5/14/2005

This place is small so expect a wait or a bad table. It's worth whatever you have to put up with (if you're snooty don't go there we would like to keep it to ourselves) This is the only place in austin you can get GOOD southern italian home cooking. Everyone else wants to serve fancy smantzie northern italian, if thats what you want go there. I'd just go for french and quit foolin around personally. The second best pizza in town. Try the peppers and sausage plate, OUTSTANDING. Pros: home cooking, inexpensive, good southern itailia more

Great Place to Eat 4/27/2005

I grew up in New Jersey and know great Italian food, and this ranks among the best I've ever been to. I've been going to Reale's ever since they first opened up and I've never had bad food. Great service, great food, and a great atmosphere make for a great place to hang out with friends or family to enjoy real italian food. Pros: Great Service, Great Food, Great Enviroment more

Excellent 7/24/2004

This place is incredible. The best lasagna, baked ziti, meatballs and pizza in Austin. We drive here a good two times a week from South Austin just to get our fix. It's awesome if you haven't tried it you will love it. They also have a great cheesecake. more

Can't Beat Them 6/14/2004

One word, Fabulous. Bob, Marie, Gino, Jennifer and the crew, awesome. Is, and always will be my favorite Italian restaurant. Being from upstate New York, and Jersey, I know pizza and Italian food, and their's is the best in Austin. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed. Pros: Owners, Food, Atmosphere more
