Mother's Day Flop. 5/12/2003

When you send $250 for dinner without alcohol you expect a lot more than Ray put out on Mother's Day. Maybe Ray has no Mom. First, when the waiter spills the Equal packet, he could at least clean it up. Next the House salad should be torn not cut up. Lastly and the ultimate sin over cooked Salmon and Prawns.... Not even close Ray... Pros: View, Scallops, View Cons: Wait staff, Over Cooked, Over Priced more

When you send $250 for dinner without alcohol you expect a lot more than Ray put out on Mother's Day. Maybe Ray has no Mom. We had fun chatting and having drinks in the cafe but I wouldn't eat there again. I'm not sure if it's the same menu as the dining room but our dishes left something to be desired. Nothing special and not worth the price. You pay for the view. Pros: good atmosphere, nice staff Cons: poor value, uninspired food more

The food at Ray's is terrific! It was mouth watering and unforgettable. I will go back sometime soon. You must try the family platter, which is a great deal for the money. My favorite is the Chatham Straits Black Cod, but make sure you ask your salmon to be cooked a little more rare if you like it that way. I felt the salmon was a little on the dry side, but the black cod made up for the salmon. Their crabcake is also a great choice for an appetizer. The service was ok and have had better elsewhere. Skeptic @ first, but I had a grand experience at Ray's the other night. The food was great, although it was a little predictable. The wine was amazing- awesome selection & very well priced- worthy of any 4star establishment. The service shined, but wasn't pushy or bothersome.
